Thanks for the link to the survey. Was nice to voice opinion and thoughts. I can only hope next iteration is better from this feedback.

 • A new Snapshot overview screen in the Need for Speed Network menu so you can find out more about your snapshots
 • Improvements to Kickbacks and likes on snapshots
 • 100+ new customization items for a variety of cars
 • License plates are back. Apply around 10 different license plates to your car for more in depth customization
 • We've made more improvements and bug fixes to multiplayer. You can now play with like-minded people, if you want to play competitive then you can now select this option when matchmaking and join a world with people who also want to play competitive.

 • Drive through a Gas Station and repair your car on the fly.
 • A variety of tweaks and improvements including AI, player feedback, Gameplay and World
 • Fixed a couple of bugs for Eddie's challenge

Wrap Sharing has been one of the most requested features to date and because of this we’re adding a new option within the Paint and Wrap section that will allow you to browse and download wraps shared by other players. If you’re a wrap creator then simply mark your creation as shareable and it’ll show up for everyone else.

Downloading and applying a community made wrap is as easy as heading into the community wrap section in the 'Paint and Wrap' section, finding one that you like and hitting the download button. Once downloaded you'll then be able to apply it to your ride and even edit and tweak it should you wish.

In total, eleven new cars will be getting new parts:

 • Ford Focus RS
 • Chevrolet Camaro Z28
 • BMW M3 E92
 • Ford Mustang Boss 302
 • Ford Mustang Foxbody
 • Ford Mustang GT
 • Mazda MX5 (2015)
 • NISSAN 180sx Type X
 • NISSAN Silvia Spec-R
 • SUBARU BRZ Premium
 • SUBARU Impreza WRX

Looking forward to KRaZyAmmo sharing all his wraps with us <3

I got rid of my console version seeing that it was coming to PC (I built a PC with i7 4790 EVGA 980 ti after Christmas). The lack of news is saddening.

What it looks to me is we're always gonna an update blog at the end of every month with the update in the next month (like today's update blog in January, but patch in February)

Edit: i could be wrong that it's every 2 month, but i do expect if we get any update blog it'll be at the end of the month. I'm just trying to guess when they usually do the updates blog.

Also yes it is weird they aren't giving updates to the pc version. I remember them saying it was gonna come out spring (?) of this year.

SnapShot Pro Explained
Snapshot Pro is an exciting new feature being added into Need for Speed and we’ve got all the tips and tricks you need to help you get a head start in creating some awesome-looking photos of your sweet, sweet ride.

From the moment you load up Snapshot Pro you’ll have plenty of options available. Frame your car with the analogue sticks, tilt and roll the camera with the shoulders buttons or zoom in and out with the d-pad.

Within the Effects menus you’ll find a number of sliders that will help you fine tune your Snapshot, these include:

Color Filters
A selection of colour filters that you can apply to your Snapshot, similar to those found in many camera apps. Adjust the strength to suit your required look.

Lens Effects

Exposure Compensation – Vary the exposure of the image
Chromatic Aberration – Adds the lens artefact on edges of objects
Focal Distance – Use in conjunction with “Depth of Field” to set the distance in which the “blur” starts
Depth of Field – Varies the amount of “blur” to the background, replicating the depth of field of a camera
Lens Distortion Gains – Create a fish eye effect more commonly associated with wide angle lens (zoom out)
Miscellaneous Effects

Vignette – Darkens the corners of your image, replicating camera lens limitations
Film Grain – Turn on or off the “noise” for desired film look
Rain Effect – Toggle the rain
Bodywork Damage – Toggle damage to your car
Lens Flares – Hide the lens flare created by lights in the world
Wheel Position – Angle the wheels of the car

Pro Tips
Our resident concept artist Khyzyl Saleem takes you through some helpful tips and examples of snapshots he recently took.

Choosing the environment

Have a think about what type of environment and story you want for your picture. Take a drive around Ventura Bay, there are often great locations off the normal race routes that you may have missed.

Beckenholl- Urban gritty,
Crescent Mountains - Panoramic, scenic views of city
South Port - Industrial, smoky atmosphere
Focusing and Framing the Car

Try moving the camera further away from the car then zooming in. This will flatten the image, and help to make the car look less distorted and realistic. Replicating a longer lens that is often used in car photography.
Create a subtle blur to the background using the Depth of Field and Focal Distance sliders in the Lens Effects tab. Again this will help bring focus to the car, replicating the shallow depth of field created by a longer lens.
A subtle vignette (Miscellaneous tab) around the edges of the image will also help bring the focus to the car and frame the image.
Fix the damage and turn the wheels so the rims face the camera (Miscellaneous tab) if you wish.
Color Filters
Find a filter that will complement the lighting and environment, low strength values can help increase or decrease the contrast depending on the look you are after.

Help from your Crew
Invite some more players to your crew, and use their headlights to help light your scene. You could also go for some actions shots, racing, jumping, get creative! Or just let the cars do the talking

Update is out. It's 1.7 GB. I'll be sharing my wrap on Friday or Thursday night. I haven't checked out the new parts yet. I will Friday, same with the photo mode. There is no search username function for the wraps sharing, so it might be hard to find my shared wraps.

Just found out there are some stealth released parts for cars not on that list. The JZA80 Supra just got the Car Shop Glow Led tailights

Ghostben, is it possible you guys can let us lock our photomode settings to be used for gameplay like in Order 1886? Having no post processing/CA/Film Grain makes the image quality much better.

Omg I would love that so much. My eyes would be migrating if that's possible.

I really do hope that happens. Also looking at your pics make look bad lol. I have a hard time framing xP

The DOF blur in this photomode is really low quality, so I'd avoid using that. Move the camera position out, and zoom in with the dpad to your liking, the car proportions will look more accurate and it should be easier to frame a certain look. Basically just keep playing around with it, you'll get the hang of it eventually. I've been messing around with photomodes since GT4. :p

Also, change your PS4 share settings from JPEG to PNG for higher quality screen captures without compression.

Alright. I'll keep messing messing around with DOF and positioning the camera. I already changed the share settings from JPEG to PNG.

Glad I held out on buying this when it was on sale during Christmas, $47.98NZD for the Deluxe Edition is a steal.

Playing the 10 hour EA access trial..... THIS is a "reboot"? Some of the dumbest game design decisions in this game. I can't fucking pause? I'm constantly getting pop up text telling me how the game works yet I'm navigating a corner with cops on my ass at the same time and I am supposed to be able to read the paragraph you put in there? First impressions are terrible so far.

Not having the driver shift animation is really lazy and off putting. Such a simple detail that got overlooked but destroys immersion completely.

I've just started playing this game and sorta want to give up because there's no manual transmission.

If this is true I will be a happy bunny indeed. Can't drift with auto.

KRaZyAmmo

If it is manual transmission and not just a gear indicator to look like it has manual (but is still auto) I'd be mad. I know it's not.

Still no word on the PC version which frustrates me. I hope when they do announce a release date it'll be close to actual release.

@SliChillax: I think the word on the PC version could be a couple day after tomorrow's thing.
Hopefully!

Also, since they're trying to show that they're actually listening to the community, do you guys reckon they might have caught a glimpse of people begging to pause the game in single player mode?

I don't know if that's ever gonna happen it being an online game.

HAHAHAHAHA teasing a manual transmission for a racing game whos target audience is the tuner crowd. MT in a racing game?! who would have thought? what a stupid fucking decision to not include MT from the get go. now that i got that out, if this update adds MT then im buying. for pc of course. unless they lock the fps to 30 =/

Hilarious ain't it. They really just need to have it already it in for the next entry if they wanna keep the tuning scene style of NFS.

Reason for the PC version being pushed was to unlock the framerate. I mean that's even more hilarious than manual being absent from launch.

Like what has been said, manual should have been in from the get-go. I'm glad they're listening to their fanbase, though. It's not ideal, but it will work. Might get me to boot it up again.

Considering I have pretty much all the other need for speed games and had my fill of driveclub and Forza 6, I wasn't in a hurry to pick this up until I got it on the weekly deals last week. I'm not sure I like the live action videos. Robyn and Amy are starting to really get annoying. These people are definitely not good actors. The other annoyance is the cell phone thing, I'm in the middle of the race and bzzzt bzzzt bzzzt these guys are blowing up my phone constantly. It gets annoying. I've answered and listened to all the messages but I still have the red exclamation point like I need to listen to something..maybe that's for the outlaw event where I still need to bust through 2 roadblocks in a single event? The cops are such pushovers so to complete that I'm going to have to purposely drive slow and keep them close to me.

I really enjoy the drift events. Sliding the car around is pretty fun. I'm Level 36 and about 80% complete on everything except outlaw, which I haven't really attempted and is sitting at 23%

Main gripe is ease of events. Yeah, I know there are events everywhere but let's say I choose one specifically. I go into the race, find out I need to adjust my tuning or whatever, so I finish the event (or leave), jump to garage [load], have to leave garage [load], find event and teleport back to the location [load], then can restart the event [load]. It's a lot of loading. I do have a basic idea of what setup I need for each type of event so it's not like I'm going into a drift race with a full-grip setup, it's just minor tweaks or whatever.

Right now I'm on the first of the Ken Block races in style format. I found I was a little to slick so I need more grip. I am actually really enjoying the game for what I paid. Some of it is addicting in that if I fail a race I want to keep at it, or when I finish one I always want to do "just one more".

On a side note, I'm agitated that the DS4 R2 triggers keep becoming an issue due to all the racing and shooting games. I already had one controller replaced by sony and I just had my backup controller's R2 get stuck, so now I'm back to the controller Sony sent me as a replacement for my original.

So some news for consoles and PC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVA63k_DPNg&sf44258497=1

PC
- Unlocked Framerate
- 4k Resolution
- Wheel Support

All Platforms
- Manual Transmission

Releases March 15th on PC or March 10th for Origin Access members. Wheels shown in video were Thrustmaster TX, T500, T300, T150, Logitech G920 and G29. Also Fanatec is confirmed.

EDIT:
More info here - http://www.needforspeed.com/en_GB/news/pc-release-date

It says that manual transmission is coming to consoles but only lists wheel support for PC. I'll be really bummed if consoles won't support it.

Man I'm having some problems with Eddie's Challenge 5. The rubberbanding in this one is very obvious - if I go slow the AI goes slow as well, if I go fast they pull incredible laptimes. Gonna have to try again and wait until it's the last timed lap until I go for the best result. :/

Is that the Cross Town Hustle?? If so, I used the F40 on that one after getting really close with Magnus' 277. I remember putting down a really good time once and then it got slaughtered so I just exited the race and went and got my ferrari lol Another time I had the thing practically won and someone popped a time up there with like 5 seconds to go and I was like uggh. ....I'm on the 15th challenge right now. I gave it a few tries last night but it was late and I was tired after beating the icons race so I'm going to give it a go here in a few mins. I don't know if sandbagging is good idea or not on the time attacks. I know that on that one I finally put down a really clean lap with a sick time on my 1st or 2nd lap and it pretty much held up. I thought about slowing down and trying to obstruct but I just kept trying to better my time

This morning I finished the original game and got the 100%/platinum by finishing daily challenges for the last trophy I needed. Last night when I beat the icons, the race took me 9 and a half minutes against 11 other cars over 104 checkpoints. It was super intense and I really envisioned it taking me several days and hundreds of attempts to beat but I managed it on like the 5th or 6th attempt....barely..I had messed up and got put back to 4th and I took the lead back around checkpoint 99. I had to put the controller down because my hands were shaking so bad.

The game is really fun and addicting, I hope more dlc comes out

EDIT: ALSO, THIS IS MY FIRST PLATINUM TROPHY!
