NIS America Press Event 2016 - February 22nd

My guess is that this will be where they go over their previous announcements (GK, SoSC, Revival, etc.), talk about some upcoming steam releases that we found in the leak, and maybe a couple in-house games. My understanding is that Yomawari doesn't have a lot of text, so that feels like a safe bet. Maybe the Firefly Diary spiritual successor, as that also doesn't have as much text.

Perhaps we'll finally get another VN. They teased that last year, although now it's looking like they might've jumped the gun on that.

My dream is them announcing a DR3 & DRV3 simultaneous release, but as I've been saying we all know that's not going to happen. Certainly not at this event.

Since AniHawk said that NISA is going with quantity over quality this year (as in, not big name games), I think they'll properly announce Root Letter and God Wars tomorrow as well.

Ahhhhh yeah

On my birthday too!

Cant wait to see what gets announced.

Anything Disgaea. Anything Steam/PC ports will do! Even new remasters/sequels to Phantom Brave, La Pucelle, etc for PS4 as well!

is this where their kadokawa partnership finally shines!?!

regarding their anime division, I always felt that they got the leftovers stuff, things that didn't get snatched up at the beginning of every season

if anything, it was basically a big boon for them that no one thought love live would take off so much when it first aired

What can we expect from this outside of possibly Danganronpa 3?

XSEED would have to the ones who ocalize Tokyo Xanadu, Ys 8 and Net High so my expectations are already low, I hope to be surprised though.

Yomawari is the only thing that is basically set. Danganronpa will not be announced this early for the West, people should stop expecting it.

How can they possibly do that? Studio said development is just started for God Wars and they have nothing to show. Plus they've been translating trailers by themselves, I don't think they'd need NISA. I suspect digital only releases for both. And fall 2016 or Q1 2017 release dates. They might go for Kancolle Kai, but I don't think so.

Their own stuff pretty much fit into that description. Small, easy to localize games. Yomawari, Criminals Girls 2, Hero Must Die, Cladun...

Have you even read Kadokawa's announcements?

The Kadokawa games are PS4/Vita, no way they'll be digital only.

Will be in attendance and live tweeting as usual.

I'm expecting some game announcements, good food, free drinks and a good time.

Don't really know what to expect in terms of PS4/Vita games, but I'm hoping for more of NIS' back catalog as Steam titles!

Want:
Yomawari
Banned Game 2
Some DRPG (the rest of EXP games)
Some VN (Shin Hayarigami, Higurashi, White Album, etc)

I hope Atlus will pick Exist Archive, not NISA.

yomawari/night watch seems to be the favorite as far as announcements go. i agree just based on how little text the game has.

i think they had explicitly said no to higurashi a long time ago due to it having so much text. i think they can do stuff like danganronpa because it's relatively light on text compared to other vns. that probably extends to other vns like white album 2.

Ahhhhh yeah

On my birthday too!

Happy birthday Basil :p

This also made me realise that it's the 4th year Anniversary of the normal version of Vita releasing in the USA. Clearly a sign they're going to go in balls deep on the console with announcements.

:(

Also uppers, net high, ukyo no roushi/shinshi, and many more.

I think it's too early for Danganronpa 3, we haven't seen anything yet!

They didn't say much about western releases of the games. Everything is speculation.

But they did tell Famitsu that God Wars has a long way to go, but they were aiming for late summer release in Japan. Even if NISA picked it up, they wouldn't be out before fall in west.

Wasn't the Gal Gun 2 developer interested in finding a publisher for it? Seems like a likely candidate to be picked up by NISA. I'd put money on that and another Vita dungeon crawler, along with a couple of Steam ports being confirmed. Big surprises from NISA don't seem likely.

PQube is publishing GG2.

Uppers and Net High would be XSEED, not NISA.

Probably a decent amount of stuff coming out of this.
Seems petty. Sure less people platforms for people to enjoy games, that's nice.

People are worried that the Steam porting business will mean less new localization. Which is a bit understandable. If the majority of this event is ports of old games that's not something I'm excited about.

If they announce a new localization together with a new Steam version of that game it would be different, but that's rarely the case.

Oh I get that. People would rather want new games announced and localizations more than that but, the way that was worded was really, well childish.

I guess I'll hope for a PC version the same day then but, that's a pipe dream probably.

Nothing to worry about. Porting is done by Nippon Ichi Japan, all NISA do is translation. This is their usual February press event, they announce Q1/Q2 localizations. They might announce some steam ports, but event won't be solely for that.

standard system wars shitpost that is better ignored :)

There are a few NISA games I'd love to see ported since I never played them. Stuff like Makai Kingdom or Phantom Brave (which we already know about) would be great
