Uncharted 4 Story Trailer

The negative reactions in this thread to the brighter color palate is why studios insisted on using the dark piss filter last gen. I personally love it. Fits the pulpy tone of Uncharted perfectly.

Much improved from 2014 PSX's grenade explosion.

?

TLOU was still pretty colorful and stylized.

What? It was drab, muted, and desaturated. It wasn't until the last quarter of the game did the developer's open up the color palette. The game's color timing was intentionally bleak and dark.

I'm not saying you are wrong in your assessment, but the Order has a more realistic art style which may contribute to you feeling that way.
That could definitely be a factor but holy hell at some of the scenes in this game I am also reminded that no one does facial animations better than ND.

I hope we get to explore a little bit of these bigger areas, Eg the savannah looking one. Or at least drive through them. They look incredible.

I think they'll be like the gameplay demo in the city we got, where you can go a bit in each direction but are still funnelled forward

Gosh, that just made my mind run with possibilities.

Imagine if
Nate is locked up, like his brother was, and loses 20 (or so) years of his life. And life moves on without him. They could go full 'Brooks was here'.

Man, the ending could be amazing. Oh I'm so excited.

Oh man I would loveeee that ending lol. Seems like a much better ending than "Lol Nathe Dies" or "Lol, Nate Wins"

Problem is, since this is Nathan Drake, people will
expect him to escape or be rescued.

We cant just end wit Nate
in prison
because this game is built on Nate
escaping things

mmm, right, bleak, dark, right...

basically Dark Souls really...

The entire game obviously wasn't. The game had plenty of moments where they would punctuate the "Nature" reclaiming civilization design choices. And I should correct myself, in comparison to Uncharted - the Last of Us had a more muted, subtle, and realistic tone to its color temperature.

Hello, my name is Yves Guillemot, Vivendi S.A.'s Employee of the Month!
But it IS on a whole different level, visually. And that's not a knock at Tomb Raider, it applies to most games this gen vs Uncharted 4. :)
I wouldn't say that. A lot of games do different things better than other games, the facial animation in ROTTR and QB imho is much better. Especially when it comes to the women of the game. Meanwhile UC4 has larger scale scenes and obviously ND put in a lot of work for things that other devs rarely attempt in realtime, like characters actually taking a suit top off for instance.

EDIT:Huh. I felt like I had seen that painting image before but thought it was a coincidence. ._.

Whenever a game uses "middleware," I expect mediocrity. Just see how poor TLOU looks.
Wow! This looks better than The Order and it's full screen too, really impressive.

Hoping they finally kill off Elena and Nate realizes he needs to be with the superior Chloe.
