Uncharted 4 Story Trailer

From an objective standpoint looks like some things are nicer looking like the vegetation while others look slightly less sharp, so no it's mostly still a neutral change. Sorry but you can't look at those comparisons and tell me the PSX is significantly better than the story trailer.

yea the game doesn't look as sharp and don't really like the more colorful changes they made.

Ruh-oh.

Someone's getting fired.
I suppose that cliff is based on a real life location? So I could see that as two artists having the same inspiration. However the wave being in the same spot and especially the boat...? lol. Hopefully this was licenced

TLOU was still pretty colorful and stylized.
Last of Us had plenty of colour but it was still going for a somewhat more muted and realistic look compared to Uncharted, I wasn't trying to say one is better than the other...

I'm simply saying that the different colour palettes work well for conveying the look and feel of the different series. And I'm glad they are sticking with the more vibrant Uncharted colour palette for this game.

There is really great amount of CA especially on this pic:

I hope we can disable it in the options.

That's not
Navarro
. It just sounds impossible. His chances of staying alive after what happened to him are as good as Marlowe's.

ND said that it will be "very hard to do another Nathan Drake story again". Maybe the story will fast forward to 10-20 years in the second half.

He does look like an older Sam.

Good god, looks fucking incredible. I'm gonna fight the urge to binge watch this over and over.

The timing is perfect, I'm just finishing up the Nathan Drake collection.

So.
Fucking.
Hyped.

The negative reactions in this thread to the brighter color palate is why studios insisted on using the dark piss filter last gen. I personally love it. Fits the pulpy tone of Uncharted perfectly.

Agreed, that's the biggest draw about Uncharted's graphics for me. All in all, a fantastic trailer.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK ME...that was one brilliant trailer.

Also, did the game get another bump in visuals? Game looks even better than the E3 demo and the PSX demo.

Wow, I hope this was properly licensed or else that's kind of scummy. You can't call something an homage or easter egg by completely ripping it 100%.

Considering the head content creator of Assassin's Creed called them thieves doesn't give much faith though.

As if the ND concept artist team doesn't have drawers and drawers chock full of similar artwork, or they could produce it from scratch. They certainly wouldn't have to resort to stealing shit from Ubisoft, of all places.

Still, it's odd.

I'm thinking best case scenario, it's an artist who previously worked on Assassin's Creed now working for Naughty Dog and re-using one of his pieces of artwork. Perhaps a contractor.

Worst case scenario, Naughty Dog has a thieving artist in their midsts.

Wow that trailer was amazing, but I gotta be honest... That aciv thing is devastating to their image. How the fuck did they think that was a good idea?

My guess is it's just a tribute to a game they liked. I am sure they did their checking before putting it in there. Theyve been around long enough to know better

Reminds me of the TLOU subway drawing issue. I'm sure it will be replaced or worked out.

Poor ND can't catch a break

first they use the likeness of a woman without permission and now they use ASSCreed Art. :p

Looks like old Sam to me, at least he has the same nose. So Drake's father?
Maybe he's Sam!
Before the last chapter, something happens to Sam and Nate thinks he's dead. then a flashforward and ...
"I lost 15 years...buried alive....erased.....you left me...lying in that hellhole...and never looked back"

Just kidding! but I agree with you and others that he can be Drake's father.

Same voice as
Navarro
(I think).
Yeah you're right! they have very similar voices.

He looks like the statue from the beginning of the E3 2015 demo

lol! that was great!

New colors are a lot better for an Uncharted. The game looks incredible, I guess I'll buy a PS4 in future for this.

I wouldn't say that. A lot of games do different things better than other games, the facial animation in ROTTR and QB imho is much better. Especially when it comes to the women of the game. Meanwhile UC4 has larger scale scenes and obviously ND put in a lot of work for things that other devs rarely attempt in realtime, like characters actually taking a suit top off for instance.

EDIT:Huh. I felt like I had seen that painting image before but thought it was a coincidence. ._.

Well, feel free to continue to disagree. Facial animation is this game's specialty, and no, neither of those games do it better. At least not after seeing this trailer.

A tribute? How is that a tribute? The only people who would catch it are people who worked on the game.

Yes, motion blur tends to do that whole lack of sharpness thing.

And let's not judge sharpness without some direct feed screenshots. Probably not a good idea.

I'm basing my impressions of both trailers hq versions of the game, the e3 gameplay just looks like it Has better IQ based on the videos

Your tag is apt. ND has a design team that's pretty much unparalleled. Don't draw conclusions when there's no info about it at all.

Let's find out what the deal is. If it is snatched I expect there to be a new opening in the ND concept art team pretty soon.

It is exactly the same image lol, just the one in the Uncharted is slightly cropped.

Unlikely. It seems too plot-relevant to be an easter egg.

Besides, this wouldn't be the first time for Naughty Dog. I think The Last of Us used a subway map that an individual had created, and they changed that. Hopefully they didn't re-create that location too accurately in-game, because that could get a bit contentious (using concept work from another game as your own, essentially).

Oh man that was some hot looking Uncharted.

Currently playing through the PS4 collection and getting more hyped every day. Can't wait!

The funny thing is they then end up in that location in the game. Not 100% similar, but pretty dang close. My guess is either a rookie mistake or they got permission to use the art as both inspiration for a location and in the game as an actual piece of art.

Otherwise, someone fucked up in choosing art assets.
