it sucks having friends on both ps4 and xbox1, but with a game like Titanfall, i dont mind doubling dipping

i hope the sequel is even more badass

I still play Titanfall to this day. One of my favorite games of this gen for sure.

With that said, i can't wait for Titanfall 2. Since it's coming to PS4 this time, i will have a lot more friends to play with. Hopefully, more modes, especially offline.

Man the naming is going to be annoying.. Team Fortress 2 is still a very popular game. Wish they went with something else.

I'm surprised they're calling it Titanfall 2 too to be honest, that's probably going to put some PS4 guys off buying it. I figured they'd give it a subtitle. Titanfall: Robotic Warfare or something.

Now we know why EA was trying to trademark Ghosts!

People will think they're missing out on something storywise and don't want to jump in the middle of a franchise.

Can I get some popcorn?

"storywise" & Titanfall !?

BRB - need way more popcorn.

EDIT: Your probably right. This might explains why Call of Duty never took of on consoles. They started with 2 on 360 - IDIOTS.

This also explains why Final Fantasy 7 was such a massive flop on PS1.

Someone who knows nothing about Titanfall aside from it having a good critical reception may worry that they're not clued in on everything going on and not want to jump into a "sequel" thinking they'll have no idea what's going on.

I doubt it'll be a widespread issue but after watching Sony drop numbers off of sequels in the Infamous and Killzone franchises, it's clear that it's something that publishers consider.

This has more to do with the quality of the product...

I don´t believe this is an issue at all.

Love Titanfall, it'll be really interesting to see how they create the singleplayer campaign that everyone so desperately craves. I don't think the gameplay that we saw in the first game actually translates directly into a typical corridor FPS campaign.

Perhaps it will just be some kind of Firefight/hoarde mode you can play by yourself, an offline version of the campaign missions in Titanfall.

I think it'll definitely have a traditional campaign but the levels will be a lot more open than your usual FPS campaign. Wouldn't surprise me if they create the SP with multiplayer in mind so that the maps can be used on both, Kowloon from CoD ended up a multiplayer map and it was pretty good.

The first game already had a horde mode which was pretty good but I don't think it's enough to replace a SP experience.

I wonder if this will still be associated with Microsoft or could this be unveiled at like Sony's E3 conference? Missed out on the first one since you know, Microsoft/EA exclusivity...

OP quick question.

Are you in the US?

EU. Ireland.

I wonder if this will still be associated with Microsoft or could this be unveiled at like Sony's E3 conference? Missed out on the first one since you know, Microsoft/EA exclusivity...

My guess is it will still be heavily marketed with MS because of how tight MS and EA are. Wouldnt be entirely shocked if it was at that MS Xbox event last week that is still embargoed.

It is an issue. And it has nothing to do with the quality.

Same reason The Witcher 3 changed the logo to deemphizise the "III" and marketing shifted to calling it "The Wild Hunt".

They knew many would just think, eh, never played 1-2 and not even give 3 a glance. Many people do this, including myself, though I do enough research afterward to make a proper decision.

I am posting on GAF though, so I am not the norm. Most of my more casual gaming friends don't take that extra step, and when telling them to jump into a sequel, the question is always "Do I have to have played the first one(s) to know what is going on though?"

Sometimes, word of mouth and quality will overrule this effect though, like with GTA5, MGS5, Fallout 3, etc.

Can't wait. Only stopped playing the first because I couldn't finish some of the regen requirements and that made me feel like I wasn't making progress (yes, I like filling bars).

Titanfall is awesome fun. It's a good thing that it's going to be experienced by PS4 owners. It might get the recognition it deserves for being one of the best new multiplayer shooters this gen.

Believes Dragon Quest is a franchise managed by Sony
Sorry, what's wrong with that?

They really needed to put a subtitle i thought

"Titanfall - Age of Steel" or something like that

Halo had one and that was the first game...

It just feels like us PS4 owners are only getting part of a franchise, when it wasn't even originally supposed to be that way.

If your going to put in an actual single player campaign, atleast make it like a 'soft reboot'

Why don't you go play Streetfighter V?

Er, SF5 was never going to be for XB1 for as long as Capcom signed off on it, aka when Sony started funding it.

And i was referring to story wise for the titanfall franchise, but some other poster beat me to it more clearly.

If titanfall "2" is not going to be some direct continuation of whatever happened in the first titanfall, they just distance it from that for the new audience
