Day 5 has Ended.

A lovely day, short but sweet. Maybe these Princesses have become too arrogant, too full of themselves, thinking themselves invincible and all-correct-all-the-time. What a bunch of Royal Highnesses, these are!

A cat watches, a little subdued, and is about to yawn when the clock chimes loudly. DING. DONG. DING. DING-DONG.

"Oh. My. Would you look at the time! It is our favourite time of the day, my Princesses!"

They all look round, smiling at each other and rise elegantly, pulling their dresses carefully as they stand up. Their expressions are bright and cordial, which is a cause of concern for the hungry cat. Today feels ...off.

Today is different, today .... they reached a tie.

The Princesses all sit primly in front of the cat and coyly says, "We don't think there's an enemy between us! After all, we've killed three baddies in a row! We feel quite horrible about it, too."

"Not I." chimes one of them, quietly.

But the numbers do not lie. There has been no decision. All will live through to the night.

A cat groans and dies inside.

Dawn rises. Cold and terrible, it rises.

By force of habit now, all the Princesses have become indolent and self-assured of another blissful night as they come down from their chambers. Surely, Evil is cowering terribly in some dark corners, too afraid to even make any bold moves. Surely, the forces of Good have taught them that pacifism is truly the nobler path! Surely!

They sit around the Palace's grand guest hall, which is directly opened towards one of the larger flower gardens and smile softly at each other. A purple cat slinks into the room on grumpy moods, muttering to itself about nutritions and gross animal neglects. It finds a small corner from which it starts its morning count... one, two, three...

"Wait a minute!" A cat declares, a little excited. "One of you didn't make it through the night!"

A loud gasp travels across the hall! The Princesses look round at themselves and do find their numbers lessened. Quickly, they rouse themselves to search for their missing sister! They look here and there, inspecting every nook and cranny of the Palace, every rooms and every halls! But no mater where they search, they are unable to locate Unmasked Ferret...

Finally, one of them sighs and says, "Well, we haven't searched the attic..."

With dread blossoming in their bellies, the Princesses make their way towards the strange and lonesome place, high up above the highest tower in the Palace. As they come around the foot of the spiraling staircase, the sight of broken glass slippers sends chills into their souls.

A Princess faints.

Another Princess follows the trace further to find the mangled body of Unmasked Ferret lying near her very expensive and very unsafe glass slippers. All twisted up, bones splintered and limbs broken beyond help, she must have been pushed down the stairs to her unsightly demise.

A quiet voice pipes up from somewhere in the back, "Well, ... glass slippers, you know... I'm not victim blaming but..." which garners well-deserved judgements and pronounced frowns from the others.

A cat slinks quietly, cackling.

"Finally!"

The rest of the Princesses pulls a coordinated expression of disgust before turning around to return to the Palace, leaving the revolting cat with its meal.

So, uhm yeah. Yesterday happened. I missed that weemad was on Freakinchair and thought it'd be 7-6 for him after weemad voted. Well, turns out it was 6-6...

So, let's see, what happened tonight?

1. I blocked Ultron (reasoning see below)
2. I sleepwalked visiting Mazre
3. Ferret got killed.

ok, so why did I block Ultron? For starters, I claimed at the end of last day. (That was, in hindsight, a big mistake. I kind of panicked because I saw a momentum against Ferret rising. What I should've done instead is pushing the confrontation towards us lynching Zatoth.) With Scum having this information and me assuming there are at least 2 Scum left, I figured they would have the kill submitted by the other person, so blocking Zatoth would have most likely only blocked the second ability. Then I remembered our mysterious friend and started doubting myself into that they maybe really can charge up some kind of multikill and decided to block Ultron. Well, apparently wasn't exactly the best decision, given we have a corpse today, but at least I'm fairly confident Ultron is Town or Neutral now.

Why? Because I sleepwalked tonight and we have no (trustworthy) report of anyone sleepwalking in the nights I blocked Zatoth. So what probably happened is that Zatoth, just for the giggles, decided to make me sleepwalk as some kind of symbolic revenge, assuming it would get blocked anyways.

I had intentionally hidden the fact that sleepwalking led to the target visiting another player, but I guess now that that's known I can reveal I sleepwalked to Seath's room on N1. Not that it matters much.

Yeah... I owe all princesses and scum an apology. I have a sick ewe, and she is the very first ewe on our farm and while I should not play favorites it is hard not to. I have been worrying myself out of my mind, getting up every few hours to make sure she was still alive. She is fine now, the antiobiotics seem to have done their job. But I still rush down to the barn first thing when I get home. Anyway, between that and DST fucking my sleep even worse, I just was not even thinking about the game.

Anyway, I am sorry. I will be working from home tomorrow, so I will be around come deadline time. I am currently on mobile, so no grand accusation post or anything. But I did want to seriously apologize.

Does the sleep walking text that you get suggest that it's changing the target of your night ability? Or is it just adding an extra stop to whatever else you were doing?

It looks that way to me too unless LP mistyped on Zaloth’s “list of actions”.

I sincerely hope today isn’t the equivalent of Harry Potter’s “Day of the Switcher Reveals,” my brain is about to short circult in advance.

Enker casting the tie vote moved him up my suspicion list above freakinchair, the other unbelievable tracking role. The tie prevented zatoth from dying. I know all the arguments about last minute, but it's still incredibly suspicious.

Ferret was a believable tracking role. He understood what he could and could not do. Even with a cop, our watcher was the target of scum. Therefore it seems likely that the watcher was more dangerous, due to being able to track a kill. This supports the notion of a godfather role.

I don't believe zatoth is town. He does seem to cast sleepwalking. Unless Royal flush is lying about his role and everything else. So if Zatoth was a mislynch, I'd be up for removing our alleged roleblock.

I think Enker may also be scum.

Ferret watched Mazre Night 4 and no one visited him (confirmed, since Ferret flipped town).

Zatoth claims to have visited Mazre Night 4. This directly contradicts Ferret.

Flush claims to have roleblocked Zatoth Night 4. This would explain why no one visited Mazre.

I think Zatoth is our sleepwalker. Similar to a scum switcher, he could misdirect protective town roles so they can kill. Since Flush claimed roleblocker, Zatoth could misdirect him away (or use the other scum member to kill).

Enker too is highly suspicious. His initial claim was to try to get Exodu5 lynched, as a commuter is nearly impossible for scum to kill. And with a motion detector, alignment cop, tracker, and watcher, that's a lot of investigative roles for someone to have another that doesn't fall into any of those categories. And is it a bit convenient that Zatoth was on Enker's list?

5 powered scum in a game of 24 is pretty strong, though, or even 4 powered and 1 lost partner.

One would think that, if there were a sleepwalker in this game, it would be Aurora, and she would be a princess. Sleepwalkers can't typically choose their targets, either, so Zatoth wouldn't know who he visits per night and would have to unbelievably guess that he attempted to visit Mazre on Night 4, which R_F blocked him. Doesn't seem plausible to me.

I assume there are 2 Scum left. I also assume that Zatoth is the one who causes the sleepwalking since or only two known occurrences of sleepwalking are the nights where I didn't block Zatoth. We know from the revealed PMs that one single Scum member can't both submit the kill and use one of their abilities (unless they're last Scum standing). If my assumptions are true then Ultron can't be Scum because he was blocked by me but someone other than Zatoth carried out the kill.

It didn't occur to me it could have changed my target. It just stated I was involuntarely wandering around, visiting Mazre. It's kind of neutral, cold be either way.

Freakinchair had the most votes. Then Zatoth contradicted Ferret. Given our track record with last minute swings (Dusk Soldier, CM) I actually was worrying this could turn against Ferret, especially since most of the time the person that contradicts tells the truth, not the one that is contradicted. As I knew Ferret told the truth (well, concerning Zatoth visiting Mazre at least) I wanted to kill this potential swing before it even started. As I said, it probably was way too hasty.

I am the proverbial Neutral in the ointment. It took me a while on MafiaScum wiki, but I finally found out that I am a “Lyncher”, in that I win if a paticular someone gets lynched.

I get to look at someone every night to see if they are that special someone.

I suspect this person is either Scum or Neutral due to my super-heroine nature and what I have to do, so I had and have no problem being Town-friendly because it helps me win. If I had to guess, I’d say Queen Beryl.

Well, here’s the rest of any argument I have:

Reasons for looking at people
Exodus - I admit this was kind of OMGUS
Zaloth - Everyone was calling him scummy
Lone Prodigy - Voted after me so I went with it
Ayumi - Posted a Sailor Moon gif in the Mafia Community Thread (Meta, I know, but it was worth a shot).

Clarification
I only win if I am part of the majority to lynch. Thus my Chair vote, as well as me noting that “It doesn’t make sense for me to vote for these people because they aren’t on my list”. So I helped kill Trigger by luck I guess.


If you don’t believe me, there’s always homework. I give Yeeny permission to post all of my nighly PMs to her when the game is over.

Enker's role sounds believable, which explains the ambiguity of his role. Who did you look at N5?

Personally, I don't mind aiding a neutral if it gets us scum.

I'm with you on 2 scum left. Where I get skeptical is the idea of Zatoth as the sleepwalker, since Mazre read him as town. There would be some shenanigans at play:

1. Zatoth is a Godfather AND causes sleepwalking (which explains why Mazre read him as town)
-or-
2. Zatoth is Sleepwalker-maker scum and someone switched him with Town on the night Mazre happened to read him
-or-
3. Zatoth is town and the lack of sleepwalking is a coincidence

now, I don't normally believe in coincidence in these games, but I'm also struggling to believe 1 or 2. 1 requires a godfather with a second non-kill power; not completely impossible true. 2 is also possible, but requires some very lucky timing.

I'm with you on 2 scum left. Where I get skeptical is the idea of Zatoth as the sleepwalker, since Mazre read him as town. There would be some shenanigans at play:

1. Zatoth is a Godfather AND causes sleepwalking (which explains why Mazre read him as town)
-or-
2. Zatoth is Sleepwalker-maker scum and someone switched him with Town on the night Mazre happened to read him

3. Zatoth is town and the lack of sleepwalking is a coincidence

now, I don't normally believe in coincidence in these games, but I'm also struggling to believe 1 or 2. 1 requires a godfather with a second non-kill power; not completely impossible true. 2 is also possible, but requires some very lucky timing.

This worked better than expected. Sometimes a gentle hand is stronger than a firm shove. I was bluffing about 'good news' but it came true anyways. I checked Barrylocke last night, he came back town.

I don't believe Enker's claim and am confident that he and Zatoth make up the remaining scum team.

I propose we kill Enker today. Flush can sleep Zatoth again and I can check someone else just in case.
