Amazon order says I'll get it on the 14th...

I ordered it on the 7 and still got this date. No option for day 1. What is usually the cutoff? I want to make sure I don't get delayed shipping for UC4.

I feel like that review could have easily been written based off of preview info and footage, but there probably isn't all that much else to know. Didn't go too in-depth, but maybe it's in a way expecting people to know the original, therefore not feeling the need to explain as much as it would otherwise.

The review hints at jokes about nerds, preorders and Halo, I'm pretty sure you need to play the game to know these things.

jstevenson, could you tell me what font the UI uses? (Is it custom or licensed?) Or does somebody here want to help figure it out / find a close replacement?

I want to replace what I have now, which isn't even close.
How's the OT looking? :D
It's kinda eh as I haven't had much time and I started going in a bad direction. I'm redoing the entire thing today and tomorrow.

I saw one of those this things in the preview cycle, and I wasn't following recent stuff that closely. If the others actually weren't revealed then that confirms it's legit. (Not that I was accusing it of not being legit)

Huh, I had it in my head that the game wasn't releasing until the middle of the year. The AUD$49 RRP is also a pleasant surprise (just as well I thought to check JB HiFi's website before going through with a pre-order on VG+).

Do we know how traversal between planets will work? Will it just be going to your ship and selecting a new destination like in the original or will there be actual space flight?

I didn't even have these. Insomniac still hasn't received physical copies of codes

We should be in business on Monday

Awesome! Is there going to be a screening of the movie in Los Angeles? I'd love to try and sign up for one if there is. Really excited for the movie and game, and I've been spreading the word about the movie to everyone I can think of that'd enjoy R&C.

Some of my friends have never even heard of the franchise, and they're gamers! What the hell is up with that?

Also, the press always get the cool freebies! You can't see it, but a single tear is dripping down my cheek right now. :p

Just finished the game! Can answer any questions you guys have! Feels much shorter than the other Ratchet and Clank games, however I only have done the main story so far. I'll post the time if you guys wish!

I'd be interested in how long it took you.

So the playthrough I just finished took me about
5 hours, 18 minutes
. I am by no means any good at these games, however I did play on normal difficulty. This is also without going out of my way for any collectibles or completing most of the side missions (I think I may have done one because I thought it was necessary).

Also none of that time is from idling, as I gathered my completion time from the footage that I have saved on my computer, which is composed of straight gameplay!

Ouch... that's pretty damn short even for just main path stuff.

Kinda disappointing. That's definitely much shorter compared to previous games.

Thanks. That definitely seems pretty short compared to previous games.

Yeah. I definitely remember the first game being much longer. Thought this game was going to go on for a good amount longer as well, and then it didn't. Not like the ending was unexpected story-wise however.

On a positive note, it was definitely worth the time and money, and I will absolutely be replaying it a second time!

Aw man, that's disappointing. I'm guessing a normal playthrough with some side missions and a little bit of walking around exploring and whatnot will be around 7 hours based on what you said.

I'll wait for a general consensus before making a mountain out of a molehill. DS3 was beaten in 2 hours by someone but it doesn't indicate a very short game. Just the same, someone taking 10+ hours to beat The Order 1886 doesn't necessarily make it a lengthy game. I think it mostly falls on the player and how they want to play anyway.

If it is noticeably short, I am sure it will be docked for it in reviews. So, we'll see.

Ratchet isn't a game that you play once... you HAVE to play it at least twice on the same file in order to complete even a majority of the stuff in the game. That's one of the major staples of the series...

They've stated it's 10-12 hours. Either they're lying, or he's an outlier. I expect a full playthrough of the game, including all the side missions (because really, who doesn't do those?), is probably in that timeframe. Maybe add another 2-3 hours if you want to collect all the secrets. The game is of course replayable as hell though, so you can easily expect 2-3 playthroughs assuming Challenge Mode is still in the game.

The original game took me around 10 hours, so I'm surprised to see someone finishing this one in half that time. Fingers crossed its an outlier.

Hmm interesting. Colin from Kinda Funny said he has played 8 hours and he hasn't finished yet.

Yeah I don't expect 5 hours to be the norm and you could beat the original R&C in under 5 hours. I love how people are holding off over one dude's play through. Should you all hold off on Dark Souls because it can be beaten in a few hours?

I honestly have no reason to lie about my time playing through the game lol. I have videos to upload for proof if you want to really question it that bad! While I don't think everybody will complete the game around 5.5 hours for just the main story, I definitely don't see many people taking anything longer than 6.5 for just that content.

You can definitely extend it to about 9 or 10 if you want to find all of the secrets and stuff on your first playthrough. I can't give you an exact number because I haven't finished that stuff yet, but there is a good amount of content there for me to still do. Also, the replayability is definitely there, so factor that in as well!

No one said you were a liar. We are saying you're not necessarily indicative of whatever the average playtime may be.

Yeah I understand that, but it definitely is a good estimate. It was still my first time playing through the game, and on top of that, I haven't touched the series in years. This game is absolutely nowhere near the 10-12 hours quoted (however like I said, that could have been their estimate for all content), but still, is very much worth the money.

No I don't mean you're lying, I meant Insomniac. Sorry.
