I love my 50-inch Vizio M series, its affordable and makes games look awesome and has incredibly low input lag.

I would love to watch Netflix at 4K. House of Cards must be amazing at 4K.
Sadly we are going towards dark times in my country.... here in Brazil companies are creating boundaries for those who play video games and streaming content.
So... they want to charge taxes for those who play online and watch Netflix.
No SONY?
Get something bigger than 55". I cannot tell a difference whatsoever between 1080 and 4k on my 55" TV.
no they just spinoff the division so they could stop losing the overall company so much money and start making a profit. "You're on your own, do good work and support yourself" is what I got from the restructure.Didn't they bow out of the TV business? And weren't their TV's overpriced to begin with?

And Sony's TV are consistently reviewed for being some of the best sets to buy for gaming with low refresh rates, and quality displays. I've always felt that other companies just out marketed Sony, there TVs have always been amazing.
4K TV seems like a bad investment for console gaming unless you are also looking forward to 4K media.
The problem is, upscaling 1080p content to 4K not only looks terrible, but it introduces a massive amount of input lag on the order of 30-50 ms.
Just a heads up, PS4K will actually not support 4K gaming unless it is comprised of 2D pixel art.
Really? I have a newer 55" Samsung 4k, and the 4k youtube stuff that I've streamed is incredible looking. A noticeable step up from 720/1080
I read several reviews that Sony tv's aren't that good especially because of the software. Android tv seems to run like shit and the whole interface feels sluggish according to reviews.
What I would want is a
- true 200 hz panel
- non curved
- hdr compatible
I don't even know if there are already 200 hz 4k panels available though.
In general I'm holding off on jumping to 4K until it's a tad more commonplace in gaming, streaming, and movies (but mostly gaming). This is generally what I'd advise to others as well.
until they get Projectors in affordable range I will be waiting quite awhile lol.
I can't go back after how nice a giant screen is, in the basement.
I got a cheap Vizio M-50c1 and love it... (600$) 50" but i play really close to the TV (about 2-3 feet) the difference is crazy to me at least... the pixels(subpixels?) on a 1080p set are annoying and noticable to me on my samsung (i can see the little RGB squares) with the pixel density on 4k that is pretty much gone.)
The most important aspect for me though is input lag... make sure whatever 4k you get is less than 24ms (the vizio is less than 18ms on gamemode) anything over 24ms is highly noticeable for me in games like DmC or Street Fighter where button imput and on screen response is precise.
This, im hoping for 1080p at 60fps at most, if ps4k is real at all.

Yep, I think people buying it now is premature. The standards just got set and just now starting to trickle out. The dust hasn't settled yet.
Don't buy a product to augment another product that doesn't even exist yet, and if/when it does exist won't necessarily have any meaningful way to utilize the augmenting product.
Off topic but I dont understand comments like this. What does 4K add to watching a show like House of Cards?
WHAT!??, that is crazy man... hope that doesn't come to pass.
pixel density alone was worth it to me... and the fact that i needed a new TV and the Vizio was 600$ made it a pretty decent move.
This is exactly what Sony wants. Threads like these.

At $399 I'd be shocked if it did.If you mean UHD Blu Rays, it's not confirmed. I'd be shocked if it didn't though.
I can only comment on what I have with Android TV on a Sony. Mine is a 2015 model (made in January 2016), with the Lolipop 5.1.1 Android. It has been patched since the launch reviews, and runs very good with little to no issues. It's feature set of being able to have infinite picture settings (for every little mode, video/picture viewing/apps/OS level/etc.) is a huge plus for me as well a lot of other sets seem to lack. I also prefer using it for Netflix and the like over turning on the PS4, and I can't not wait for them to patch Vue into it.
So to me, I did not see any of the issues the complaints have had, but also, I adopted it well after patches and revisions.
Do people actually think this thing will get near 4K with games?

What would you guys suggest as the minimum screen size when buying a 4k TV?
I currently have a 2 year old 49" 1080p Sony Bravia as my main TV and the picture quality is amazing but I got SkyQ installed yesterday and it's 4k ready (12 tuners with 1 reserved for 4k) so I will be in the market for a new 4k TV later in the year, probably when the PS4 neo releases.
vizio p is the way to go.
Yup, they just released the new ones and they're very nicely priced with high marks across the board.
Is the Samsumg 48" from the OP good enough in size for 4K?
Impossible, you can't get 65 inch for that price. Unless it was some Black Friday sale where you had to cut someone's arm off to get one.I'll be looking for a new 65~ 4k by the end of the year. Saving up now. What makes the vizio p so special? Primary use will be video games and blu-rays, but I'd like to future-proof it a little so I'm not rebuying a new tv in 3 years for nexxxxt gen. So, 65, 4k, good for games (low latency, I assume, is what i'd be looking for). As close to $1,000 as possible (I can wait for sales, budget caps out at 2k, but, i'd love to get as close to 1k as possible).
