Xbox Details E3 Plans

Phantom Dust or bust. You hear that Microsoft! I won't touch your new system with a 10 foot pole if you don't make shit right between the fans with Phantom Dust. I already went back on my word and bought QB which was a disrespectful hot mess of a game on PC and that only added fuel to my fire.

You better have Phantom Dust at E3 or you are donezo with me!

I think Phantom Dust will be shown with a close release date - August maybe?

Also, can't wait to see ReCore gameplay finally!

Want to see more of Scalebound and we'll finally get to see ReCore.

I assume there will be a Forza Horizon 3 announcement (in the Pacific Northwest?!), hopefully also coming to W10.

These days, probably Youtube?

But it will be on Youtube as well... like it has been for years.

Expecting:

Sea of Thieves + New Rare Game
Recore
Crackdown beta
Scalebound
Killer Instinct General RAAM reveal
Forza
Two new IPs
Crimson Skies
Xbone Slim

HOPING:

Phantom Dust
Sunset Overdrive 2
Oculus/Xbox partnership stuff

So whatever the Rare Replay team was working on, plus Remasters or something.

Phantom Dust HD?

Add Crimson Skies to the hoping section. Loved that game.

Forza horizon 3
Scalebound
ReCore
Gears of War 4
Sea of thieves
Crackdown 3
Cuphead

These will be glorious, can't wait!

I think I need to sell my XBOX One before e3 now that I built a PC. I have a feeling they will be going for super cheap pretty soon.

No more third party exclusives (which is reasonable, they don't make sense for them anymore) closing down a few studios. They have about 6 studios left? Of which work on the same franchises.

Outside of an Xbox Slim I'd be surprised if we saw anything game changing or amazing.

That's not including indies/smaller titles, I think they'll have a few of those. They've actually become the only exciting part of Xbox for me, Cuphead!!!

Have you had your head buried in the sand or something?

That would be a damn shame. SO for example was fantastic and i'd love another one or something else from Insomniac. Scalebound is one of the few third party exclusives i am very excited about. If anything, MS needs more of this. It can't only be about Halo, Gears and Forza. This makes PlayStation so interesting if you ask me, great variety of exclusives.

With all the Neo talk, a slim xbox would be a disappointment.

Yup, but it's entirely possible. Look at the leaks so far,so be prepared for a pretty standard show in that regard. It's very possible that MS has decided to wait and see how folks react to Neo, maybe they have something in the making, but not ready to announce yet. They could have some really cool upcoming exclusives, betting on that and hoping it will be enough for gamers.

Would be great if they make a surprise announcement one of these days about a event before E3...but i'm not getting my hopes up. It's definitely possible only Sony will have significantly upgraded hardware this E3.

Anyone else from GAF planning to go to the Fanfest? I've gone the last two years and it was a blast.

Actually slept overnight in line last year (totally unnecessary but totally awesome) and made new friends.

Gotta be in LA, but they do treat you right.

Hoping there will be an SO 2 but doubt it.

Looking forward to hearing about games esp:
  • Forza horizon 3
  • Scalebound
  • ReCore
  • Gears of War 4
  • Crackdown 3

Plus new secret games. Also a slim X1 1TB would be nice @ $299.

When they closed studios, announced no more third party buyouts of exclusives and kinda gave up when it became apparent XB1 was a lost cause.

What exactly do you expect them to release in 2017? It used to be trolling to say "lol just forza and halo" but looking at their studios, it genuinely might just be Forza 7 and a sideline Halo game. Coalition is doing Gears this fall, Rare is doing Sea of Thieves this fall, Mojang don't seem to do anything new and Lift London is Hololens.

Good thing they have Scalebound and Crackdown 3 (Isn't this 2016 as well?), but at this point last year we knew about 10+ exclusives coming 2016 and beyond. What's on the horizon come the end of this year? Do you really think we'll get a spattering of new second party exclusives?

I'm planning on going. Last year I heard that everyone lined up at 10pm and waited till 11am. Was it a mad dash to the line at 10pm or was it easy to get into the top 500 spots?

All future Forza games after Apex are coming to PC so Horizon 3 surely will.
Day and date with the Xbox One version ? I would not go that far, probably 3 weeks/one month later.
With cross buy/cross play.

I'd be very surprised if they announced a more powerful box here or even this year. I think their ideology is to see things through until it's time for a new box and a new name. Around 2018/19.

If there is to be any hardware announcements I think it will be a slim Xbox One.

This would be a dream, but it likely won't happen:

Other than that, I'm excited to see more of Gears of War 4 and Scalebound.

I want unexpected new game announcements. Hit us with the new IP's, dormant IP's, whatever. I want the unexpected.

Are you serious?

Haha

Not sure if trolling....

I mean, are we ignoring the known exclusives that haven't come yet...and assuming they literally quit making games outside of those?

?? Is that all you got? Really? What part of my post wasn't accurate? Don't bother responding unless you actually have an argument.

What known exclusives? I'm talking about beyond this year if you read my post correctly. What is known beyond this year?

I'd love to see how Scalebound is coming along. I am pretty excited about that one. I know it was delayed but a new demo that smooths out the rough patches in frame rate and IQ from the initial build would give me good vibes regarding its development.

There's nothing worth arguing. You're dismissing their show when they have multiple exclusives we've not seen in action at all. Some exclusives we've seen little of. ...AND you're apparently sure they quit any attempt at any new games.

LOL

Doesn't make sense.

You know what E3 is for...right?

Did you even read the OP or the article?

BIB: Yeah I do, did you watch last year? Exactly how many new announcements did we get? ReCore and Halo Wars 2 AFAIK.

Well, you can't read clearly. "some exclusives we've seen little of" like what? All I can think of is Scalebound. I didn't say they quit any attempt at new games, I said they have very little to work with.

Try actually reading posts correctly in future, and you still haven't answered the question.

What do you expect in 2017, from first party especially?

What?

They closed 2 studios, Press Play was a stupid buyout that they did nothing with, and Lionhead was a lost cause with Fable Legends.

Why waste money on trying to buy third party games when they can focus on their first party? The costs for them to buy an exclusive would be astronomical since they are in second place.

E3 is literally a month away. That's sorta when they announce 2017 titles, and there's also Gamescom in August for that.

Well, the OP says that they're showing new games and exclusives for 2016 and beyond. 2017 is included in the beyond.

I'll get back to you after E3 XD

Also, I don't expect all the known exclusives in 2016.

Yes, close 2 perfectly talented studios and leave yourself with about 5/6. 4 of which work on only one franchise. They should have had the foresight not to do Fable Legends in the first place, but at first sign it was becoming a problem they should have scrapped it and gone straight to work on Fable 4, a good Fable 4 I might add.

Press Play were a fantastic team, they could have built them up and done a bigger project with them.

Why waste money on third party games? They shouldn't, not anymore, like I said it's pointless for them.

You guys keep ignoring the question, what are you expecting them to announce in 2017 and from who?

That's nice, that can truly mean less than last year. You know it could be 1 second party announcement and lots of smaller/indie right? I mean given recent times that's probably the most likely outcome.

Again, last year, ReCore and Halo Wars 2. What else did they reveal?

You expect them to be at Gamescom with one European studio?! (Mojang won't exactly have anything to show).

IDK why dont we wait and see before jumping to odd conclusions. Besides Scalebound already got delayed to 2017 and I am betting Sea of Thieves would as well.

You make it seems like they magically will just stop working with other parties to develop their IP when they really have shown no hint of that.

We still have Undead Labs's Class4, Scalebound, Crackdown, a game with Skybox Labs, as announced titles for "beyond". Not to mention Gigantic but I think that will be out this year if Motiga survives. As for MS studios I'm expecting another Forza next year and possibly something else from Rare. They also have Decisive Games working on a strategy game.

What if they show you a few more between this E3 and Gamescom? What's saying they can't do that?

You make it seem all doom and gloom for really no basis other than, they only own 6 internal studios and closed down Lionhead! MSs strategy has been to work with outside Devs on IP MS owns so I'm not sure why all of a sudden there's some huge concern.

I just want a brand new true Banjo Kazooie 3. Either that or say they sold the Banjo IP to someone who will make it and I'll be happy.

I can't tell the future my friend. I watch E3 because I look forward to things I don't know.

Otherwise I wouldn't be interested in ANY of the conferences.

I expect multiple reveals. The only show I'm iffy about is Nintendo's. I want to see NX.

We are ignoring the question : what do we think Ms will announce in 2017?

SO you want us to make shit up so what? You can counter with "wrong! Ms has no games"

Are you mental?

Not doom and gloom buddy, just being realistic. In fact, the ultimate path I see them taking is PC exclusive and I'm more than fine with that.

Yes there will be another Forza. You think there will be another Rare game? That'd be nice, go look at their output the last 5 years tho, I think you're aiming very high on that one. I used to have high hopes on Microsofts unannounced/new studios but they've literally produced nothing. So until Decisive games come out with something you really shouldn't bullet point them. Same as Skybox lab. In fact, I think I've seen that name floating about for years.

They used to have a lot more first party studios, still do the second party projects and buy out third party exclusives, 360's library was vibrant and alive year in year out (save for the latter years) and even XB1's early years showed amazing promise with their first party and the partnerships.

If you can't see the massive decline that's your own problem, like I said. This time last year we knew of about 10+ exclusives coming in 2016 and beyond. This year? Just Scalebond, and the obvious Forza.

Bear in mind that this is the first E3 they've had that wasn't partially spoiled by the big ntkrnl leak. I think their hand was forced a little bit because of the very early leaks in those posts, so their E3 was more loaded than they might have liked. Just because we don't know of their upcoming exclusive lineup doesn't mean they have no exclusives to announce.

It's a natural cross-over of audiences. I'm sure a lot of people who watch Spike TV play video games. They also want the broad audience provided by broadcasting their press conference on TV.

I didn't even know Spike TV was still around. Hell.....the channel itself moved on my guide and I don't even miss it. What's even on there anymore? Is it the new G4 where we have hundreds of hours of cops, and cheaters every week?

No I want you to come up with your best realistic scenario. You don't need to make shit up, come up with some predictions. They have 6 first parties, 2 are releasing big games this year, 1 continually works on the same franchise (Mojang) 1 is brand new and has produced not even a company logo. That leaves 2, 343 and Turn 10.

So yeah.

Bear in mind that this is the first E3 they've had that wasn't partially spoiled by the big ntkrnl leak. Didn't say they don't have any, I just don't think there will be much, especially from first party aside from Forza.

Perhaps you're right with the NTRKL leak.
