I'll pick it up during a Steam sale if someone releases a JP Audio mod.

A fan-made re-translation for the subtitles would be welcome too.

This would be my first ever Triple-Dip, lol

Remember to add three months after the initial confirmed release date, if recent circumstances are to be repeated.

Dont forget that steamsubs shows that they allready worked on it for around 6-8 months until it stopped for over half a year. I dont expect a huge delay after the announcement.

Isn't this one of the last Steam HelpDesk Leaks left? Soon there will only be surprises left - till the next leak ;)

any chance of an xb1 release? A lot of other final fantasies are on there. I owned the PS2 version and would love to play it again.

The Vita version runs at pretty much stable 30fps.

Nah. I've played through it and it drops pretty low when more than 3 people are on screen during cutscenes, and in battle its also bad during bigger scenes, and even digital foundry says so

The PS4K is not going to run games at 4K outside of some small instances. I think you're underestimating the amount of overhead required for those resolutions.

Its a PS2 game, let's not get ridiculous. You think a GPU of that level could not play a PS2 game at 4k 30fps?

PS3 ran it easily at 1080p, PS4 runs it without a drop at 1080p 4xMSAA. Neo would. run the game in 4k.

Don't worry, I'm sure somebody will release the "I'm an expert" mod where "I love you" is changed back to "thx bae" as originally intended.

I'd love to see FFX get a substantial modding scene. New game plus and balance/difficulty mods would be just lovely.

Same. Seeing some of the simple stuff people have done with the PS2 version is good, but with a more dedicated community on an easier platform the PC version would be incredible with mods.

This is exactly what I'm hoping for. I've wanted to play the game with the original audio ever since I originally beat it years ago.

It would have come out by now. I think the only reason FFXV and KH3 are getting XB1 releases is because of their budgets needing all the potential audience they can get. Otherwise, Squenix is perfectly content on servicing the largest JRPG audience with de facto exclusives on Playstation.

Shitty localization won't be haunting us anymore.

Huh, those FFIX numbers are pretty good. Imagine if they hadn't played dumb for two extra months and dropped it out of nowhere a couple of days after Dark Souls III.

Is this supposed to be as snarky as it comes off? Maybe I missed an old discussion about this, but what's the problem with someone hoping for the original audio/text?

Eh, pretty sure the Neo's rumoured specs would be able to run FFX in 4K. It's 4+ TFLOPS. It's FFX. A PS2 game.

I mean, probably even the regular PS4 would be able to.

Let's just say the FF series has historically been pretty bad about "fans" thinking they know better than the translation team :p Nothing wrong with dual audio especifically.

I imagine that not much would've changed, actually. It's a playerbase that doesn't need much marketing/doesn't care if they spend 20 dollars more or less.

I'm still surprised that FFIX sold more than 100k copies.

Why? It's FFIX, a 16 year old classic and one of the most acclaimed JRPGs ever, that had never been published on PC before. The price is pretty high but it's still a classic.

I want to buy FFX again (still only own the PS2 version), but there are bosses in the game I never want to go through again.

Because it's significantly better than 5 and 6 did. Like 3 times as many sales at higher price points.

It's sad I have to ask this, but have they been doing anything dumb with these releases like locking resolutions? I never finished X and it'd be cool to play this at 4k.

Those games had many more re-releases than IX though. And they're not as popular imo.

I'd argue that 6 is more popular. But you have to remember that 5 and 6 on PC are based on the mobile versions with the less popular sprites. Whereas 9 PC still uses models that resemble the originals.

I think my favourite Steam leak would have to be the player stats page breaking and seemingly showing the 100 least popular apps instead, simply because of how amusing it was as a bug:

Some of the red herrings now stand out to me:

SONE/SONE MP = Probably CoD: Ghosts, considering the SP/MP split
Poplar = Pre-release development app for Battleborn
TAGame = Rocket League
Zion = Pre-release development app for Doom
Cork = Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
FGame = Unreleased Enemy Unknown + Enemy Within combo app
Firebird = Shadow of Mordor
RP8 = Grid Autosport
Mambo = Just Cause 3
Project Muffin = Possibly Muffin Knight (it hit Steam mid-2014)
Hickory = Homeworld Remastered
Waffles = Strider
BlackJack = Mad Max

Another one soon to be off the list soon then, very nice :) Never been a big fan of FFX but I might pick it up anyway just to have it on Steam.

Now just EDF4.1 to go, come on........ (hopefully they're still updating it on the steamdb)

Rebalancing the Celestial Weapons and Overdrives so they're actually all really good would be lovely, too. The original game has so many wasted ability slots on those (especially Rikku's, goddamn), and Kimahri's and Lulu's Overdrives are just awful.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
It wouldn't be a FF Remaster thread if there wasn't FFXII begging!

Never let the silence end, it needs to happen!

I'll differ to your knowledge since you guys likely follow the matter signfiicantly closer than me. I'm just skeptical considering how far behind the initial PS4 launched at comparatively and the overhead required to run at 4K.
