Dark Souls III |OT+2| Why Can't We Poise the Game?

seriously ENB how do you completely forget the area you are going through. him going down the ladder in the archives and not realizing he went up that way the first time is a headscratcher
ENB has a pot problem. Why are all of you not getting all of the references? It's very clear.

Are we still spoilering stuff? Early/Mid game spoilers

So I believe I've found a minor mistake in the game dealing with the 3
burning towers in the woods. When you're up at that Vordt bonfire/banner cliff overlooking the entire world right before you wave the banner to be carried off to Undead Settlement, you can look down and see the 3 towers. When looking from up here at first, they are unlit. However everywhere else you see them from they are lit. Now when you put them out in Farron Keep, if you go back up to the Vordt bonfire/banner area, they are now lit. It appears their trigger got inverted and is backwards from what it is supposed to be.

smh... for someone who didn't like cheap references he sure seems quick to assume that it's one based on almost no evidence.

That is an odd assumption considering it looks nothing like him. Still, that reference IS in the game, just not there lol.

its funny there was actually an episode where I was wondering if he was stoned because he kept making goofy voices and laughing at himself but I figured he's just a little weird

Never used them for pvp?
No.

8 per playthrough unless something drops you a +10 weapon.
8? In Dark Souls 1? How? There are only 2 guaranteed ones (Stray Demon, DLC Kalameet waterfall), + the 1 from the Siegmeyer/Sieglinde quest if you do it correctly (extremely unlikely on a first character). The rest are chance drops from crystal lizards and Darkwraith, and from someone who hates farming, fuck that noise.

Yeah there's an inconsistency in that. I would think that is easily patchable (play the fire animation or not) but this is super very minor stuff.

That's in the context of DS1 I know that there's a very small limit in 3 which is a shame as it really limits the variety you have with weapon choices it's a strange direction to go from the previous two games.

I'm not a stoner but I'm around a lot of potheads. Judging from I've heard from ENB, he is major pothead.

I'm talking DS3. Are you speaking of DS1? I'll be honest. I'm currently playing Drunk Souls 3.

Not into Souls streamers in the big way but I know of 3 of them:

- Lobos Jr
- ENB
- VaatiVidya

Is ENB the best one? Why is he so often referenced here vs the other two?

I love Vaati's lore stuff and Lobos Jrs godlike skills. Lobos is a no-nonsense streamer IMO. What's ENB's hook?

What? I'd rather have 8 guaranteed slabs than 3 ones.

Uh, yes. Which is what I wrote in the very post you quoted, plus, well, the context of the conversation I was having... :p

He doesn't have great spatial awareness / sense of direction, it's showing pretty clearly in this playthrough. It's kind of annoying to watch sometimes considering how much time he spends looking at scenery but fails to internally map the area.

Especially those with the chain and sickle thing that clips through ever wall ever. FUCK THOSE GUYS

They are surprisingly tough for how they look too. We had a party of 4 the other days when fighting against 2 red when those fuckers joined the fray. We won but only the host and I survived. Do enemies health scale with the amount of players?

To be fair, G.A. can be pretty confusing at first. Although, while going through that area he was seriously rushing, which is what that area punishes hard.

It was actually pretty funny seeing him struggle in the area. He had pretty much cruised through everything up to that point, so it was interesting to see. Grand Archives design mentality reminds me of Sen's Fortress in a way, where the whole place is there to fuck with you if you rush in blindly.

Yeah, I think it's pretty clear that there might be something off in the way he interprets distance and objects in the distance. I've noticed it before.

however, his strength is in taking down a lot of enemies that gave me trouble. But now he is in G.A., which seems like it has all the things poke at his weaknesses.

Leave my along Stark. I parry you but you riposte me. Fuck. Drunk Souls sucks.
Wh-what xD

I thought I'd typed DS2 instead of what I wrote so it's a downgrade from 2 not 1
Ahh, gotcha. Yeah slabs can be farmed more easily in DS2, but 8 non-farmed is still pretty good too.

must currently be channelling Sourshoes.
LOL, zing

Yeah, enemies get a defense buff according to the number of phantoms (not invaders, obviously).

Are you fucking kidding me? 5 eps in Firelink Shrine? There's literally nothing there of interest before you starting finding NPCs. Was she analyzing the wall textures?

I guess she did make it into the start of the high wall by ep 5. Textures? Actually yup she did... Im not lying...she studied the weapons hanging on the wall and spent time trying to assess if the shield was the same pattern as hers (which I could have told her it was in a fraction of second, as its the starting thief shield, but she took 30 seconds to compare) ......she studied everything, including obviously unfinished textures on walls that she thought she could jump through etc. She studied every item description possible in Firelink (I think) I dont really know as I didnt have the patience after the first couple and fast forwarded. I started watching her day one, started doing my first recordings at the same time as her original run, and met a few long term friends as day one community of her channel, so its a tradition I like to follow, but I for sure have to FF in order to endure it nowadays.

Man,
Irithyll Dungeon/Profaned Capital
is such a cool level. I was very worried because of some impressions, but so far I'm adoring it, great level design, very oppressive atmosphere, fucking disgusting enemy design... I need to run through the dungeon again to open some locked doors, then I think I'm ready to meet Yhorm.

And someone killed Rosaria :CCC

Since there was a Black Eye Orb there, I'm going to assume it's the natural quest progression, and the description says we can retrieve her soul, so it's probably similar to Anastacia.

I'm betting on Leonhard, since, you know, it's the only related NPC I can think of.

That asshole on the roof was really tough, must have died at least 3 times against him >_<

The malformed inhabitants of the Profaned Capital were quite tough before I found out about how weak they are to bleed. Then Barbed Straight Sword +0 and Carthus Rouge were literally giving them bleed with one hit. Light work.

I'm really a sucker for those references so many people complain about, the description of
the Dragonslayer Greatarrow and Lightning Bolts had me giggling like a child. Forge, I can. Strong, I am.

Those
gargoyles
in the Profaned Capital have quite a shitty droprate for their weapons, still didn't get any. Actually asked a friend if they even drop it so I wouldn't waste my time, but apparently they do. Farming jailers was much quicker.

Already got my first Slab as well <3

She's not that slow, she didn't even read the Gold Pine Resin >_<

Drove me nuts when she started running from enemies and not going back, who does that on a first playthrough? >______<

Also what happened to this pre-release art:

Dark-Souls-III-2.png

And the idea about moving bonfires around? That you could move some bodies around and thrust into them the Coiled Sword in different areas to set up different placed bonfires?

That art reminds me of the
final area leading up to the last boss
. I tried to compare, and it looks similar, although there are some differences. It just looks like this might be initial game art that inspired areas in the game. It would be cool if we got something like this in the DLC as an actual explorable area, though.

Also, about the movable bonfire thing...I wonder if that rumor was a mistake based on the fact that you put the coiled sword in the Firelink Shrine.

There is also another thing that got axed, which is the little stones that have lore on them. I'm curious as to the changes that have been made and what it would be like if those were still in.

I was watching a video of cut content and there are a few interesting armors and weapons as well that didn't make it into the final game.

Help on a quest please.

I'm doing Greirat and Siegward.

I just found Siegward in the kitchen after you kill all of those water spider women in the underground water area. There is a bonfire near here (there are clues written on the ground) but I was told not to go to Irithyll dungeon until Siegward has saved Greirat.

1) Can I go to the next bon fire without screw up the quest lines.
2) If I talk to Siegward will it kill Greirat?

Kind of crazy how it links with rolling iframes.

Sanadsk has a few videos on his channel and he's going to add more. Nothing groundbreaking but it's just interesting nonetheless. I do wish they were in the game so that we would have more armor variety.

Also: about poise, it's nice that someone finally figured out what it does. Kind of interesting.

so much. I thought that was an easy area overall. Super happy that he no longer purposely kills himself to study the bosses after A
ldrich
. Can't help but feel that he got feedback in some way about it either from the disikes or maybe from people he trusts. The boss fights have been good to watch again in the past few eps.

I tried watching her DkS1 LP a few years ago and could not deal with how slow she was. Too slow for my tastes and I'm not even that impatient since I can watch A German Spy's slow gameplay style with no trouble.

So what would people consider a good, long-term weapon for a spellsword? I don't want to invest too much into Str/Dex as most of the points are going into Int as the overall goal is a sorc/pyro character, but I still like a sword.

Right now I am using/considering:
* (Using) Raw Astora Straight Sword - This could, probably, last me the whole the game.
* Dark Sword - Broken as fuck.
* Carthus Sword - Bleed, fast, good damage and move pool. Eats a bit more stamina than the other two. May be pretty broken.
* Estoc - Broken as fuck.

I am really juggling between Dark Sword and Carthus, Carthus gets me requirements more easily (less Str) but more in Dex which is still good for casting speeds. I think Raw Astora falls off once I hit +6 or so on Dark or Carthus.

I was thinking about that, and it probably makes sense. In hindsight I remember one episode where he was acting really weird and I wondered if he was high. Alrightalrightalrightnowladieeees

I'm sure doing live commentary plays it's part in that.

btw, I think you guys are jive talkin' with the pot stuff. Am I that naive, or does he just have a goofy side that he isn't afraid to show on camera (microphone)?

I really think there's something going on there. He even made a 420 joke in one of the episodes, I don't think it's that far-fetched.

You can use the bonfire near there, just don't go any further (triggering the new area name) is what I guess it means - the bonfire around there isn't in that next area.

Just beat H
igh Lord Wolnir.
Super easy boss which comes on the heels of a pretty difficult area. Really weird. However the next area I got to was I
rythill of the Boreal Valley
, but I never actually did C
atacombs of the Deep.
I'm guessing I should probably go back and do CotD before IotBV, right? I came across the bonfire for that area but I figured I would come back after hitting a dead end, and I just haven't hit a dead end yet.

So... Does this mean there's a reason to level Vit?

I also wonder if this is why I've been getting hit out of rolls by bosses so much on my first character, Thief starts with a lot less Vit than Knight.
