Games You'll Never Play Because You Just Won't

Dark Souls series. I just don't think I can commit myself to it now that there's already three games, despite all the love for it. I have Bloodborne in my digital library but haven't played it yet.

Any MMORPG - I don't see anything good that could ever come from starting one of those.

Any Pokemon - I was always too old for it

Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes / The Phantom Pain.

I've tried many times to get into the MGS games, having tried MGS, MGS 2, MGS 3, MG4, and Peacewalker at various times, and just never being any good at them or enjoying myself. I have a great deal of respect for the games, but they're just not for me, so I'm not going to waste my time trying any more of them.

is it just MGS or stealth games in general

People that play Overwatch will never play Battleborn yet still feel the need to shit on it because the mere existence of Battleborn takes away their ability to enjoy Overwatch.

Pretty much the dumbest non-reason to not play a game I've ever seen.

MOBAs
JRPGs*
MMOs

I like some FF but the rest are not my cup of tea. I don't like MMOs due to the monthly fees and grindfest nature.

Final Fantasy VII; there's no way it can live up to the hype, it apparently aged terribly, and being a late 90s JRPG, it's probably too much of a time commitment for me to bother at age 23. Maybe if I picked it up when it was fresh, it'd be different.

Ocarina of Time is in the same boat on the being being unable to live up to the hype part; it might be like Star Wars where I bite the bullet some day, but I know it won't be as good for me now as it was for everyone else when they were kids.

Thats very interesting...
On topic though I guess this is hard for me I'll give just about anything a chance 99% of the time.
But horror games I guess... idk I like RE but outright horror stuff is more of a bore to me(I beat P.T. but its just not for me. I get a jump scare but meh....)

I like the goofy, fun nature of Uncharted. It's a fun pick-up-and-play type series. There's no way I can really express it without upsetting someone but I'm not a fan of melodramatic/award-bait type stuff and The Last of Us always kind of struck me as being that. I'm definitely not anti-story in games but I don't like the buzz around it that goes "WITNESS THE AWARD-WINNING STORY THAT REVOLUTIONIZED GAMING FOREVER". I feel like if I played it I'd just go, "well that was cool" and be playing it because of the outside pressure from already knowing that it's an award-winning game, rather than playing it because I want to - and to be honest a lot of what I've heard about sounds like stuff that's been done before. It's just not my kind of game, and while I don't think I'd hate it if I played it, I don't especially want to play it, if that makes sense.

All those Love Plus, Idolmaster, Hatsune Miku games and similar stuff. I don't want to offend anyone so I won't state why I just won't play them.

possibly twilight princess and skyward sword. looking to sell my wii u and i just don't know if I can stomach getting through them

Mainly because of the fanbase, but Undertale is on my short list of games I'll probably never play. Maybe I'll try it in a few years after it's been mostly forgotten, but I just can't bring myself to play it thanks to the fanbase.

Same. Missed out at the start of the series because I didn't have a GameBoy and never really felt the need to pick the series up.

Just gotta add, I was on the "No MOBAs ever" camp up until I tried out Heroes of the Storm.

Well, that ended up being my most played game of 2015 and 2016 so far

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

SMT IV Apocalypse. Not because I don't want to, but it seems Atlus doesn't want me to and for no real reason either.

Modern WRPG's. The ones I've played weren't much fun to actually play, not to mention having overly large open worlds with a billion things to do that I don't care about isn't appealing to me.

Only modern WRPG I liked was Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which had really well designed core gameplay.

MMO games, DOTA, MOBAs in general, and F2P mobile games.

OK, so I have actually played a tiny bit of WoW and hated it but I DID enjoy Planetside back in the day. The typical MMO, though, is highly unappealing to me.

Didn't even read the thread title? Lazy Gaf at it again ;P

I can't really think of any games that I would straight up refuse to play without giving it a fair shake. I'll try just about anything! I got maybe 30-60 minutes into TLOU each time and gave up. Now whenever anyone recommends I play through it, my usual response is "nah, I'm good" without any actual reason. Seems like a pretty apt example, all things considered!

Splatoon.

I own a Wii U as my tertiary console. I only have about 5 or so games for it, and am in need for some more. I played Splatoon during one of the demo sessions and quite enjoyed it, but for some reason never got round to buying it. It's been on sale multiple times since, but I've never pulled the trigger. I just end up going back to a single-player game in my backlog, and it feels like the moment to buy the game has long since passed.

MMOs. They just don't appeal to me at all.

Add me to the MOBA list. Tried both LoL and HotS briefly, had no fun at all. Plus, I don't like online multiplayer with randoms anyway, especially not in a toxic community.

Then, MMORPGs. I played GW2 and TESO, enjoyed the single player/pve content but pvp and instances with randoms are not for me.

Also, Madden and whatever the current big basketball and baseball franchises are, as I have no interest in the sports at all. Despite not caring for hockey neither, I had fun with NHL games in the past, though.

Point & click adventures. I just lack the patience. I do enjoy Let's Plays of that genre though. Deponia is one of my favourite gaming series of the last couple of years, even though I have not played it at all myself.

I'll never play KH remix versions because the PS4 came out at the time when remix came out and I sold my PS3 for it. And I don't believe they port it to the PS4. So, that's that.

I'll probably never play FFXIII again or try it's sequels, it's a shame because I really enjoyed the combat, the music and the look and design of the game but god damn do I loathe the characters and the story. Plus, it took too long to let me off the leash and have fun with my party etc

Telltale games or games with a similar nature, I could just watch a Let's Play since I really don't like how those games play. I think the only one that I'll actually play is Until Dawn.

Both the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series.

I feel like both of these series are so overhyped, everyone I know seems to be in love with them and thinks I'm crazy, but nothing I've seen about these games over the years has ever interested me in the slightest.

Metal Gear Solid V: Going open-world absolutely destroyed any interest I had in the game. It doesn't matter how purportedly good/great the game is.

Any Souls game: Too difficult. If I want to be purposely frustrated by something, I'll stick to real life.

Final Fantasy XV: I swore off Final Fantasy after XIII. Strongly disliked XII, hated XIII. It's obvious that the direction Square is taking isn't one I want to head in.

Big fan of RTS back in the heyday, so MOBAs are of no interest to me whatsoever.

I cannot be bothered to play "cinematic" games. You end up with a product that is bad at both being a game and a film.

Any of those gross sexual Vita games (not exclusive to that platform; just making a reference).

Not a fan of football and soccer games.

I will never play parts 2 and 3 of the Final Fantasy XIII saga because of how abysmally bad the first is.

Edit: sorta cheating, but I will never play the latest installment of Sim City. I played the beta, and it was shockingly awful. EA never got a dime from me for that one.

I just don't understand the appeal. I get to play as a dick, steal cars, rob banks, murder pedestrians? No thanks...

I remember when GTA3 was released on the same day as The Two Towers. My friends berated me for buying The Lord of the Rings game instead of GTA. To this day I still believe it's one of the best decisions I ever made =)
