Trump v. Bernie Debate

Clinton refused to cooperate with the state department prove which was closely linked to the FBI investigation and she didn't comply with the policies.

"At a minimum, Secretary Clinton should have surrendered all emails dealing with Department business before leaving government service and, because she did not do so, she did not comply with the Department's policies that were implemented in accordance with the Federal Records Act."

There is a criminal investigation going on and we will have to wait and see whether the FBI decides she is criminally guilty.

Democrats should hope she's indicted because this controversy will be so damaging to her in the GE.

And if they don't she's still guilty in your mind I'm sure.

Sad that Bernie supporters are now hoping Clinton gets indicted because they think Bernie will then become the nominee.

He wouldn't, btw.

That would be absolutely ridiculous.

And if they don't she's still guilty in your mind I'm sure.
The e-mail business itself matters much less to me personally than the too real possibility of Trump being elected.

i hear ya! it's like b-rock's birth certificate all over again, bruh
we're still waiting on that...what's he got to hide, but the truth?

I'm not seeing the similarity. And didn't Obama release his birth certificate?

I imagine the DNC is on the phone with Bernie asking him what the Fuck he is doing. Trump would do his best to ignore Bernie as much as possible in the debate and just use the 2 hours to attack Hillary.

Also the odds of this actually happening are slim anyway. I doubt Fox News or any other station would give the revenue made from the debate to charity anyway. Especially since they would likely have a significant amount of viewers.

Why is it so difficult for Hillary to provide the Wall Street transcripts?
There's no way they don't make her look look really bad at this point.

Just like how she reneged on the California debate, for her the potential damage from the debate was high enough that it was worth being branded a promise breaker.

So therefore what is in the transcripts must be worth being branded a liar/promise breaker/having something to hide for that too.

I've been watching this thread hop around the front page waiting for a lock because I thought it was just some hypothetical scenario a gaffer or navel-gazing blogger had come up with to stir shit up.

Now I check Politico and see this is actually a real thing that might actually happen

I can't even

If it happens quick enough, and if it can be swayed at the DNC it might. I personally know 2 Florida Sanders delegates who are prepared to argue for that angle.

Nah, Trump isn't an idiot. He will use the 2 hours to agree with Bernie as much as possible while still being Trump so that Bernie supporters feel like Trump is their best alternative when Bernie drops out. He already has the Republican vote - now he has to convince the anti-establishment Democrats that it's better to vote anti-establishment than Democrat.

The word "hypocrite" comes to mind.

Rainbowize an avatar one year, vote to throw minorities into the GOP's woodchipper the following year. All for the delusion that Trump is going to touch a few pet financial issues.

Vote for trump, Huelen, that's fine. But own the fact that you're willing to enable bigotry, and that you're willing to judicially enshrine it for decades.

One Issue Voters confuse me.

OIVs that are doing so out of spite for an abstract concept disgust me.

I don't give a shit about dressing him up. Either put up and keep trying to get that message turned into policy or shut up.
I also don't give a shit about being nice to the tragically fragile sensibilities of progressives of convenience, after six years of a Republican House and six years of Governor Kasich running Ohio even further into the fucking ground placed entirely at the feet of white boys who just wanna feel ~*inspired*~ and to hell with actually doing boring shit like voting for someone in an off year election.

If the same people claiming inspiration from yet another far left white man could ever get off their asses to vote when the actual state offices impacting them were up for election then we wouldn't even be entertaining the premise of this thread.

No you don't LOL

Yes I do, one of them is even a DINO Clinton-hater. I've posted about it before, expressing concern.

Truth is, it can't just be these 2, there has to be more people like this, and when people are desperate, they will do what they can to destroy the opposition.

And as much as I like Sanders, I can't say I like that one bit. It's sleazy, and... It's just wrong. They need to argue based on facts, not shame, even if Clinton ends up being in deep shit for the emails.

And yes, this is also the same person from that same thread who didn't even have the funds to go at the time.

Bernie refusing to release his complete tax returns has absolutely no excuse considering the tradition. Similar to Trump refusing to do so.
Not going to defend Bernie for this, but it would be delusional to think there's more to hide in Bernie's tax returns than there is in Clinton's speeches to Wall Street.

She's probably even happier she decided not to debate given the questions she would receive concerning this state department news.

That's a really weak excuse.

What the hell excuse does Sanders have for not releasing full tax returns? At least Trump talks about his bullshit audit getting in the way.

Not going to defend Bernie for this, but it would be delusional to think there's more to hide in Bernie's tax returns than there is in Clinton's speeches to Wall Street.

Unless she literally says "I swear on this Bible, give me money and I'll do your bidding" then this is a pretty bold statement. A speech is just words, a tax return contains much more.

You talk a lot of bullshit but this seems like an over the line bullshit attempt even for you.

That is literally all this has the potential to be. A big hour long advertisement for Trump to pander to Sanders voters. Please be excited.

did he do so before the primaries ended?
also, you should see the similarities, as they're all over: literally no one but talking heads cares about the issue

So therefore what is in the transcripts must be worth being branded a liar/promise breaker/having something to hide for that too.

alternatively, she literally has no reason to do so, certainly not while closing out a primary with a distant 2nd place

No you don't LOL

damn, the birthers/jailers thing really is starting to shine here

Bernie not releasing his complete tax returns has absolutely no excuse considering the tradition. Similar to Trump refusing to do so.

this is a fair point, but likewise also something no one really cares about
in my mind, it's up there with obama's church's pastor back in '08

Feels like the political equivalent of my uncle works at Nintendo.

Holy shit, you've crossed over into Internet Prophet territory.

Addressed this above. I think for Trump his latest answer is simply that it's no one's business.

And what's in the speeches that Hillary gave as a private citizen is no one's business either.

There's a long standing history of candidates releasing their tax returns. There has never, ever been the expectations that candidates release transcripts of speeches they've given when they're not on the government payroll.

There is a criminal investigation going on and Clinton's website has lied. "Yes. The laws, regulations, and State Department policy in place during her tenure permitted her to use a non-government email for work."

Today, concerning the state department: "The State Department’s inspector general sharply criticized Hillary Clinton’s exclusive use of a private email server while she was secretary of state, saying she had not sought permission to use it and would not have received it if she had."

I like Hillary much more than Trump, but she is a liar and would absolutely be a weak candidate against him. It is a very real possibility that she will be indicted.

There is no possibility that she will be indicted.

"more to hide"

we already know who she got paid by for that speech.

There is no possibility that she will be indicted.

It hasn't even been a month since we received the last update from the media talking about how the investigation or whatever you want to call it is in the tail end of the process and they have not found anything to charge her with and people still say IT'S COMING. In the very thread containing the article no less.

Are you incapable of both or something? Is that a condition that afflicts a certain segment of America? Can you not vote for a candidate who is obviously going to be the nominee while still spreading Bernie's message?

Of course the answer will always go back to "integrity, my conscious, doesn't truly represent me, won't be able to sleep at night (amazing how they made it this far in life!)" and to that I'll just be like must be nice have such a privileged position in life. *Zzzzz*

Alot of assumptions here.

First, you seem to imply that Hillary will "spread Bernies message" I think a lot of Sanders supporters would take issue with that.

Second, you make the assumption that the supporters of the Socialist candidate come from a position of "privilege", just historically speaking that has never been the case.

Third, you seem to think everyone holds the integrity of their conscious in as low esteem as yourself.

Shit like this is why I've stopped giving Bernie supporters the time of day. "Hur hur, go Bernie! Show those Democrats for rejecting you!"

Apparently, President Trump is what you people want.

A party completely complicit in the electoral system being FPTP does not get to complain when that bites them in the ass because people don't want to vote against the other guy.

Likewise people who drag out a thinly dressed up vote for my guy or the other (worse) guy might win at every single fricking election should perhaps be less than surprised that people don't take it seriously automatically even if it really is true this time (something about crying Wolf and all that).

I know as a Hillary supporter you don't want to acknowledge this, but the reason she won't release the speeches is simply because they would make her look really bad.

"When Hillary Clinton spoke to Goldman Sachs executives and technology titans at a summit in Arizona in October of 2013, she spoke glowingly of the work the bank was doing raising capital and helping create jobs, according to people who saw her remarks.
Clinton, who received $225,000 for her appearance, praised the diversity of Goldman’s workforce and the prominent roles played by women at the blue-chip investment bank and the tech firms present at the event. She spent no time criticizing Goldman or Wall Street more broadly for its role in the 2008 financial crisis."

“It was pretty glowing about us,” one person who watched the event said. “It’s so far from what she sounds like as a candidate now. It was like a rah-rah speech. She sounded more like a Goldman Sachs managing director.”

all that needs to be said on both fronts...this is some desperate clinging out here
i keep reading about all the salt TYT/reddit etc are gonna have when this reality becomes even more evident, and just feel glad i don't patronize those corners

full-on birther logic right here

Why debate someone you aren't even running against mathematically

A lot of Sanders supporters have "taken issue" with the concept of negative economic consequences stemming from anything on Bernie's platform so pardon me if I'm not convinced that they're a particularly reasonable arbiter of the world of facts compared to, say, hologram Roseanne Barr.

Is Bernie seriously that blind to not see that this is a trap? Like, this is literal bait and he took it. This won't be a debate, this will either be a Clinton/DNC attack rally or Trump agreeing with Bernie on a couple of issues to get those anti-establishment votes.

Sonic and Shadow?

I wish they operated from the Death Star. Imagine what we could do with that thing pointed at Albany!
