Rumor: Dead Rising 4 leak from old build, maybe re-imag of 1 w/ 4p co-op & full town

A fleshed out remake of DR1 with coop sounds glorious Frank-ly.
Screen looks..well, a lot worse than DR3. Worse than DR1, I'd say, so something's definitely up with that.
Interested

Sounds like these screens are from a very old test build of the engine.

You're both right.

Definitely game. Enjoyed the first 2, and only played a bit of 3 at a friends placed but also enjoyed it. Definitely up for the return of Frank as well.

I'm just waiting for DMC5 to be a PS4/PC exclusive since that seems to be where it's all headed. At least Resident Evil will be on everything in existence.

Ya at this point I assume anything that isn't Resident Evil will be exclusive to something or other.

Keep in mind that Capcom is doing much better financially now than in 2013/14, and DMC5 isn't happening for at least a while.

probably cost more than the prev 3 tho no?
Well yeah but you can probably say that about any PS2 franchise that continue into the next gen.

Edit: I seem to remember them having dev troubles (like everyone at the start of last gen) which would inflate its budget more than usual as well. Hence its awful backtracking.

Don't know what could be done to revitalize my interest in the series. Or what'd you'd do with a Dead Rising sequel in general. Hopefully Capcom does.

why DMC5 and not DmC 2?

DmC is the worst-selling entry, NT is partially busy on Hellblade, DMC4SE added new characters and story, Itsuno is working on a new title, and Capcom isn't doing overseas outsourcing for major titles anymore.

Just personal taste I'm a bigger fan of the original. But I doubt either is in development at this point. They have seen diminishing returns for each sequel.

Not, though.

DMC1 - 2.1m
DMC2 - 1.7m
DMC3 - 2.3m
DMC4 - 3.0m
DmC - 1.7m

DMC HD Collection also sold 1m, and DMC4SE reportedly did well. Probably at least 500k. DMC is on average one of their highest-selling franchises.

DMC5 is 100% in development. Itsuno wouldn't be working on DD2 or anything else.

Excellent - First game is definitely one of my favourites. I thought 3 was great, but was missing the charm that Frank had. Day-1 purchase, for sure.

I wonder if they'll reveal it to be a launch title for Scorpio or something of that nature.

Yep my bad I thought 1 was higher then 3 but I wasn't looking at 3 and 3se together. And then 4 destroyed them all.

There are more games in the series that are not like the 1st than are, so I'd say you were right :p

Haha true at this point it would be unusual for it to be like the 1st one. I bet they integrate some of the 1st into this new one since they are going to a reboot but I just don't know how much.

Capcom isn't doing Dead Rising 4 and a RE2make, but not a new DMC.

Short line is, Capcom has a release schedule outlined in their online integrated report from last October which includes one title in a franchise every 3 years or so with DLC in between. They want to always have a major title out in a year. With RE, DR, SF, DMC, MH and other titles all planned. We've already seen SF5 and DR4, soon we'll see RE7.

It's important to count DMC3SE with 3 because 3SE was essentially just the Platinum/Gold/Playstation the Best version of DMC3, except it was advertised and sold as a separate title. For that reason I don't count DmC DE and DMC4SE along with the vanilla versions because they launched so long after.

If you get one of the paid versions you can avoid most of the data collecting bullshit though.

Uhm, yea, if you pay for Enterprise edition. Most of the "data collection" ish (that most of them they have been doing for years besides W10) can be turned off anyways. Don't think that because you paid for it that it's going to be any different.

I was so hoping they'd finally let Capcom Vancouver do something new and fresh... but as usual Capcom wastes resources and makes the worst dumb decisions....

Hope they back away from the last one's overly grey and dark tone. It's like they forgot this is the series where you can dress up in ridiculous costumes, make a crazy crafted weapon and go to town on zombies in a mall.

I was a big fan of DR3 outside of the tone, and it could have stood to be harder, even on the nightmare mode. Definitely interested in DR4.
