Day one. Love the game. Played it way back when on the PS3, so fingered crossed for improved performance.

Well, I never completed it, so I would be slightly interested if they have graphics as good as the mods (I am too lazy to get mods working).

Because it's really not worth it if it's not. It's a 5 year old game that shows its age against modern RPGs if that's the case then leave it in last gen and move forward.

Like any other remaster it is up to the individual to decide if it worth it for them, the market will decide, and people are willing to pay 60 for this.

I don't think I could get excited for this, having put hundreds of hours into the PC version and then even more with mods. For people who only played it on PS3/X360 this could be cool though.

This better be a crazy overhaul. The base game is janky as hell and looks like shit even maxed out on a PC. Just upping the resolution isn't enough for me to bite.

You must've never tried mods. You can say a lot of stuff about Skyrim, but with mods it looks absolutely stunning.

It makes me sad that this is coming out. It makes me even sadder that so many people are clamoring for it.

My view on it is this: they said they ported Skyrim to the new consoles for practice for Fallout 4. We are another three years at the absolute earliest for ES6 coming out. So why not release this if it was already done?

It's a fantastic game that would still sell millions on the new consoles. Say what you want about most of the ports from last gen to this gen, but this is one of the games that makes sense to port.

"definitive edition" to me sounds like it's just gonna be the base game + dlc's ported to PS4/XB1 with a resolution bump and the base game on PC updated. on pc they could just let you choose between classic and enhanced version. that way people don't get upset when their PC doesn't run it as well or mods break.

i already own it on PC so i hope whatever changes they make it is made free to us who already own the game. if they want me to rebuy the game, either on PC or PS4, then they need to make some big changes to tempt me to buy it. improved visuals such as textures/lighting/rendering distance etc, improved map world with new foliage/environment so it doesn't look as empty, existing areas improved or new areas added (dungeons/caves), new enemies or at least placement tweaks. new difficulty settings.

to this day i still haven't played the DLC's so it would be nice to return to the game. i could play it on PC but to be honest i don't really want to in it's current state. again if they want me to return to the game then it needs updated.

Yeah, how terrible is it that people love this game and are excited to play it again on their new, more powerful hardware. It's god damn depressing is what it is. Woe is me.

I played the arse of it on PS3 - yeah I know I know - and got it on PC when I got into PC gaming but even with mods I can't seem to muster up the enthusiasm to play through it again so I can't see me picking it up for a third time. Mods fix so many things too that going back to a console version would be tricky. I would assume they would include mods this time on console as they are with Fallout 4?

I like the idea, if it's done right, but I've realised I just don't really enjoy big open world epics. The Witcher bored me and I found niggly flaws everywhere. Skyrim was the same when I played on PS3. The "story" elements (characters, dialogue) in Skyrim felt awful to me. Terrible character names that felt like parodies of ye Lorde of the Rings kinds of names. A load of rubbish I didn't care about told to me while I had to follow people around. I literally had no clue what was really going on, it was just a way point fest of go here, do this, do that wrapped up in seemingly impenetrable back story and lore.

At least The Witcher has some great cut scenes and a deliberately well told story. Skyrim was so disappointing on this. I roamed aimlessly, got attacked by wolves randomly about every 3 minutes of exploring (the only reason I ever want to play these games!). Most fun I had was when I was exploring a deep cave system at 2 in the morning with my headphones on and I could hear an ominous sounding troll or something deep within, and as I was tenderly making my way around it my girlfriend scared the fuck out of me! That was my fun with Skyrim! :p

This would have to be special to get me to consider it. I did love the atmosphere in the world but gameplay wise I never made it far in at all, so non plussed I was with the rest of it.

I liked Skyrim but this is waaaaaaay too soon for a game like this. I have ZERO interest in replaying it at this time.

LOLing at the guy above "played this way back when on PS3"

Yes... Way back when, last generation.

If its not 60 frames then its worthless.

Could very likely not be 60fps, Dishonored and Dead Island remasters were only 30fps.

We learned with Dishonored: Definitive Edition that parent company Bethesda Softworks is happy making a port from the PC version, including all DLC, locking the frame rate at 30fps, and calling it a day.

I expect they will take this same approach here. And if they do, that'd be a damn shame.

Really? My favourite part of skyrim was starting. Set difficulty to max, make character, escape Helgen, get to whiterun and suddenly have the urge to reset the character. It's weird.

This. I did this so many times on PC, I was starting to think I had a problem lol. Glad I'm not alone.

I'd replay this on PS4 for the plat though.

Over 550 hours on my ps3 with Skyrim. Never been able to play mods. If I can play mods I am in, otherwise I got my time in already.

Skyrim remaster means it is time for a Dark Souls remaster. The world needs more comparison articles and videos on those games ;)

I have a feeling that From and Bamco will still want some sweet DS money even though the series is "over". A remaster is the perfect way to do that.

Doesn't even seem that difficult seeing as they have two teams.

Even with mods there are definitely some limitations to Skyrim's graphics. But to fix the limitations would be a lot more work than I bet Bethesda is willing to do.

Hey if this means they can funnel more money into making ES6 a bigger and better, then power to'em. That said I'll probably pass since I've already put countless hours into the PC version.

If this really is happening hope they made some big improvements gameplay wise and graphically, not just a resolution bump and PC textures.

The fact it's 'Definitive' and not 'Remastered' kind of suggests the latter. Bethesda are lazy, there's no way in hell they bothered reworking the combat or rebalancing some of the mechanics like the underpowered destruction magic.

With something like this, i'm relatively easy, since I love the game so much. But it will definitely take more than a minor visual upgrade for me to double dip. Or even a major visual upgrade. Mods would be nice, but I want to see what else Bethesda does.

Yup, no mods and I'm not interested. If it's just a port it won't run much better than the PS3 version which I already own. I wouldn't pay £40 for that.

Dropping a remaster of a 5 year old game in November seems crazy to me.

I don't expect much out of this remaster other than resolution and their hi-res texture pack add-on from the PC.

I can easily drop 150 more hours into this game if there is mod support.

Please don't let me down, Bethesda.
