Ignoring the decision for a minute.

With a close to 50% split its sad that no political party can unify this county, we are truly divided. This needs to be solved before we can go anywhere now.

Easy, you have had 40 years in Europe ,it is our turn to have 40 years out...seems fair?

I've been out of the loop on this. Can someone explain to me why the Brexit is so bad?

Neoliberalism ain't that great, but when most of the world runs on those policies you're committing self-harm by extricating yourself from them. (The UK has a ton of trade deals with the EU that make it financially beneficial for us to be within it.)

I haven't been following this.

Why is everyone branding people who vote leave as bigots and racists? What's up with that?

I genuinely don't know the positives and negatives of both options.
Because there was no real reason to vote that way, well known racist politicians flocked to the Leave cause, the U.K. tabloids in all their racist glory also did everything they could to ensure it went ahead, and any advantages that people claimed would happen (the economy) is clearly not fucking happening now.

Couple that with most cities and Scotland and NI voting to Remain (liberals), it's not hard to put two and two together.

Just like Trump isn't racist, the Leave campaign isn't racist.

That's literally what I said.

Hence why I want to get the fuck out of Wales. Would rather not live in a country surrounded by complete and utter idiots.

I called it Jem. Didn't know you were Welsh brother. Sorry the result didn't go how you wanted. Always welcome to come to Canada and the PNW, the real bastion for Halo.

I'm really confused by this, too. It's like everything is black and white, this or that, us or them. I understand that the argument on both sides is largely economic, but I think that perhaps people here will post a bunch of graphs of short-term economic (read: speculative) stock market/currency drops, and act like that alone, independently, proves every argument for leaving as wrong. It's just weird.

Don't really buy that scaremongering. It doesn't matter now anyway, we aren't part of the EU now.

On our own I think we can negotiate back in fine. We gave a solid message to the EU tonight we still love them. 100 fucking %.

Scotland to join EU, becomes part of EU Army and invades rest of UK.

asked in the other thread, just in case;

I know shit about economics...so...

Will this affect the CAD dollar in any way? We are already hurting here with our fucked currency

me neither, but for an estimate, check out google finance or yahoo finance sites, can see how much the canadian $ stregthened against the pound. Theres charts to see the differnce over 1 day, 5 days, months, year, etc.

Put two and two together? I'm asking why, even towards other members, leavers are being labelled racist. Why are they being labelled racist and bigots? What has the movement they're supporting done to cause this kind of reaction?

I don't know if devastated is an exaggeration or not at this stage, but yeah.

Didn't think England and Wales would actually go that far on Leave. At least Scotland made good decisions.

Time for bed, I think.

A strong part of the leave campaign was based in similar ideas to Trumps such as stronger borders and completely ignored the idea of the GBP freefall we're now enjoying.

Economic collapse vs. Stop the influx of Muslims . Choice is clear. Cut off the nose to spite the face.

I'm surprised at the spattering of posters here that are surprised at the extremely negative reaction to this

If this can become a reality, Trump can become a reality.

I don't think so.

In the U.S. the "Immigrants are coming to take our jobs!" line doesn't go as far to scare up votes.

We're a nation of immigrants. You have a couple border states and deep red states in the middle who definitely think that, but by and large the majority of the nation does not.
