I've never played a single Bioshock game last gen, so this is my reaction to these news!

The skyrail saves the combat in Infinite for me, turns it into an awesome rollercoaster. I'm sold on this remaster mainly cause of the commentary though.

A week after XCOM 2 on consoles, fantastic. I can already tell there are going to be more games than time this fall. Freaking college, man.

I loved Infinite but could never really get into Bioshock 1 because it ran like garbage on PS3. I'm super excited to finally play it! I'll do the commentary on Infinite for sure

Still have a REALLY bad taste in my mouth from part 2 of the Infinite DLC, but will probably pick this up for the commentary.

This I won't disagree with. I really liked BioInf, and BaS pt.2 I enjoyed the gameplay, but as for the story...
I found that its ending basically renders all of what you accomplished in BioShock Infinite to be completely pointless, and I hate that so much.

So happy about this. And so jealous there are people out there who get to experience these games for the first time. For us fans of the BioShock series it's just another nice revisit. Which isn't bad at all.

pip pip cheerio you slags!
Great for people who have never played, but as a PC dude was hoping for a lil more. Is the mouse sensitivity finally gonna be reasonable in this version? Lol.

I would advise anyone playing Burial at Sea for the first time to pretend it's just fun fanfiction. The story is a bit dumb but the gameplay is good.

That and the really forced, half-hearted retcon to Daisy FitzRoy's intentions really rubbed me the wrong way. And it really ducks because Pt. II starts off so well, but it just gets worse and worse as it goes along. We don't need to see a Big Daddy kill Suchong, for example. The dairy and the drill bit jammed through his body were powerful enough.

Is 60fps physics and animations in the remasters a reasonable assumption?

I'd say so. The odds of the remastered versions still using UE2.5 are practically zero. I'd wager that the games were ported to the customised UE3 engine Irrational used for Infinite.

Looking good so far!

I'm still worried about the 30fps animations and some details missing from some pictures but hopefully everything is ironed out by the time of release.

Awesome. I replayed Infinite and Burial at Sea DLC recently, and even on 360 these games hold up very well so a remastered version is a great idea.

Anyone that hasn't played, it's worth a shot! One of gaming's best series overall, in my opinion ;-)

Fucking finally! Can't wait to play through these again. It makes me said that we likely won't ever get a big budget Bioshock game with Ken Levine at the helm ever again.

Less than 3 months away! Thank god. I was so worried thy were holding this until next year

So excited. BioShock one is one of the best games ever made thanks to the setting and actors.

I retract my statement with the caveat that the slew of recent Remasters doesn't sit well with me. New ideas are the only thing that will push the medium forward.
Remasters are done by teams who are not involved with new projects, generally studios that specialize in porting games. Remasters give players who want them a great experience, and give the publishers more financial power that benefits their studios working on new projects. Remasters grow the money in the industry for the better. They don't stamp out teams that do new games.

I'm so jealous of you. The BioShock games, along with the Zero Escape series, are games I wish I could I could replay with a clean slate and experience them all over again.

I think I'll pass until it's way cheaper. This appears to be an HD version of the collection I bought for $5 on 360 (including the museum) with a terrible game tacked on.

What a trailer, having beaten all the games. Lots of the quotes from the game make so much sense :)

So fucking bought!

You'll get It for free. The Steam version of Bio2 came with Minerva's Den added in free.
If I remember correctly, it was only given free to existing owners prior to sometime in 2013 when Bioshock 2 ditched GFWL. Future owners still need to buy Minerva separately.

Soooo happy.

All I am missing now is Mass Effect trilogy remastered.
Likely not gonna happen. I remember some EA CEO or something said that HD remasters are only for companies who ran out of ideas.

Minerva's Den doesn't seem to be a requirement:

If you own BioShock, you get BioShock Redux, and if you own BioShock 2, you get BioShock 2 Redux. The language in 2K's announcement, and the fact that Minerva's Den isn't listed separately but rather as a Bio2 Redux feature, suggests to me that Minervra's Den will be rolled into Redux by default as opposed to DLC and ownership of the original release is not required to qualify for the upgrade ("and/or Minerva's Den", but you can't own Minerva's Den without owning BioShock 2, so if it were a factor, it'd read "and Minerva's Den" instead).

Are they making any changes to the way the first Bioshock plays/controls? I really want to enjoy the game but it is extremely clunky and I just can't push through.

screaming bird calls from infinite
