Berserk launches this fall in the west

It's brought up in every thread but how the **** does Omega Force develop so many games at one time? Good/competent ones at that?? Just this year they're releasing Attack on Titan, Berserk, AND Toukiden 2...

On-Topic: I've no exposure to Berserk media but this game looks rad.

I mean they pretty much make the same game over and over. Don't want to sound snarky, but I just assume everything works on the same framework. Amazing how well the games tend to look all things considered too.

They don't run well. They are crap. It took me 3 hours to figure out how to stop Samurai Warriors from crashing. All their games have either fluctuating frame rates, stuttering, vsync issues, graphic options that flat out don't work, diagonal screen tears, missing character models, controls are fucked up

The list goes on. The ratings are bloated on STEAM from rabid fans. People who recently purchased the game who aren't diehards are not happy.

Their games also have serious issues on Windows 10 and mobile GPUs.

Koei Tecmo ports fucking suck.

Sadly, I have to agree with a lot of points in this post. I love buying the games on PC to have them all on one platform, but I might just go PS4 for Berserk. I've had so many problems getting KT games to just run normally on my PC, not even talking about any fancy graphical options or settings.

Regardless of that though, I'm absolutely pumped for this game.

The Dragon Quest PC port was great. By all means be pessimistic, the company deserves that, but it's not a total lost cause like some people pretend!

I understand that sentiment in regards to their musous, but Toukiden is preeeetty different from those games. Attack on Titan looks to stand on its own as well.

But yeah, it's all obviously the same engine.

As a new reader I am beyond excited for this.

Also one of those pics would have been a spoiler, but I actually read that chapter this morning. :)

What other type of game can emulate killing hundreds at a time?

Damn looks game looks good. I still can't believe we're getting it. And so soon.

Also, I don't really think a Soulsborne style would work with it. I actually think something like Witcher 3 would be damn cool. Obviously the combat system would have to deflect Guts' fighting style better, but exploring the world and doing sidequests would be amazing.

How is Omega Force with Vita ports? Portability and price might push me toward that, but if performance is bad I'd settle for PS4

Starting with Attack on Titan, Omega Force Vita games are no longer ports. OF recently has formed a smaller team to do Vita titles separately, ground up titles instead of quick ports. They're basically same games but issues like low framerate or resolution are minimal.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, re-purpose the blade mode super accurate slicing and dicing gameplay from Metal Gear Rising and apply that to Guts and his big sword. You can slow down time for a short moment to position your sword for the most accurate and damaging attacks that will of course chop enemies to bits in real time. Of course the game would also have normal character action stylings and gameplay based around that but for bosses and finishing off harder enemies, like in MGR, you use blade mode or Dragon Slayer mode or whatever.

That sounds great and all, but you basically want Platinum to make it?

Which would mean 4 hours long and not nearly as many enemies.

Why does it need that many enemies? Guts is infamous for killing 100 guys by himself...yet he's about to be in a game where the counter will literally be in the thousands. Doesn't match the lore at all.
Sieges and battles are huge bloody affairs, but one man running round killing every last enemy ain't Berserk... especially if they have you playing as other characters too.

This should make up a little for the new anime. Looking forward to it, which I can't even remember the last time I was excited for a musou game.

Dream Berserk game is still an ARPG though. Souls x Dragon's Dogma mmm

Pretty much this. They've been sucking lately and would prob screw it up. I'm happy with the Musou format. Keeps to the manga story line, destroy groups of enemies, can use lots of characters with differing Movesets, and great graphics. Unless From would do a souls-esque game focused on super strength build of Guts, Musou is best bet for a good Berserk game. Can't wait to go ham in the berserker armor or as the skull knight.

Dragon's Dogma is already the best base for a Berserk game, use that new console power to put dismemberment and more enemies on screen and that's it.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is another one, imagine stairway of hell running smooth and attacking with the Dragonslayer

Looks like a Dark Souls ripoff.

Lol I took the bait, but some people do drive by posts in threads they don't know about and genuinely aren't familiar with the subject.

Somewhat interested... but i know what i'm getting with Musou games.

I'm quite enjoying the new anime series so far, although it hasn't hit the same levels as the original yet. I wonder if this game will incorporate characters and moments from both sides of the
Eclipse
.

From the screenshots in the OP we can see that it does.

PC ports overall ran well but the problem is that they were always based on the PS3 version of the game. So the games always looked last-gen. Since it's coming to PS4 and Vita , we are hoping they wont use the vita version as a base instead lol...

Oh god, PC version is definitely going to be based off the Vita version ugh.

There used to be a TecmoKoei USA rep who came to this board saying PC ports were going to be better. Still waiting on that promise.

hopefully we get Limited and Collector's Editions.

will have to keep an eye on amazon in the incoming days

This. I wonder what they would put in it... Any thoughts? My guess would be standard art book and soundtrack, maybe a statue. Kinda hoping for Griffith's behelit necklace. But yeah, I'm on look out for Amazon.

But it's weird that they haven't announced a Japanese CE yet.. May not be one at all then.
