Going from adept hammer back to standard was jarring as hell, no more Dark Souls style rolling into attacks to dodge.

Boy Lagi got a heck of a buff, even at low rank he had me on edge, packing a swathe of new electric projectiles, going back the souls reference one of them gave me flashbacks to Bloodborne's Orphan of Kos of all things.
Heck even its roar seemed more potent, it was able to pull off the Khezu technique of roaring stun being long enough to guaranteed hit you with the Blanka esque electric field.

If you get bored you can fight the Deviljho that sometimes shows up.

They respawn pretty fast in areas 1, 7 and 8 so it didn't take that long when I helped with it yesterday. Bringing a pellet shot gun helps.

Is the silverwind set = evasion +2, evade dist, critical up and critical eye +3 constantly active? Or do some of the stats only activate under certain actions or something?
The set is pretty insane if these stats are active on it all the time.

I had to put the game down for a couple of days since my right hand starts to hurt after a long play. But I have had a ton of fun fighting the Hellblade Glavenus. Those hit boxes on the tail after he grinds it with his teeth are terrifying.

I also love using the Brimstone counter on the roars these bosses do. Set myself right in front of its face, it roars and I smash its face. 2/3rds of the time it flinches which is great. Loving the art system a lot. Gives me a lot of fun tools to work with.

Silverwind skill (ev+2 crit+3) is only active at armor level 6 or higher.

Ah, got it. Still worth farming it. I think it's the best for evade lancing? I haven't seen any other high level sets though.

They downgraded him a lot in this game, I miss his story arch as well as Frenzy/Apex monsters. Still love fighting him and his adult version, their designs are awesome. Though it's silly how you can fight them both at the same HR level.

Yup, he always did that. The logic behind this is that since he doesn't have eyes, he uses scales in the air that have been shed to sense you. When he enters rage mode, he sheds so many scales that it darkens up the sky.

Also loved Gore Magala's plot in 4. Really unique boss, its blind as a bat but is really furious when enraged and goes through different life cycles which is really rad. I liked the virus mechanic too, along with the frenzy'ed boss variants.

I think my favorite feature of this boss was how the wing flaps folded onto his body to make him look like some kind of baron or count with long flowing robes.

Yup.

Amatsu is fucking terrible to fight the first few times. It's frustrating being melee and having a mass if floating kelp above your head taking up the whole screen.

I went in as CB and hated it. Went in a second time with GS and had an easier time hitting it.

Edit: wow I was just looking for a cat with the necessary boomerang perks and crit/atk/pro but damn that is one nasty cat. The other perks are pretty versatile.

For prowler yes, for companion not so much. My brothers cat sets a different trap down in what feels like every other minute it's crazy.

Im noticing more and more returning characters as I make my way deeper into the 3 Star village quests. I like taking the game slow. I've been playing around with a lot of different weapons as well. The hamitaur armor is trash though! I looked at some of the stats and thought it'd be a good build but none of them jelled together. Then it had no slots! I've got to find a better monster to farm.

Mr. Sergio is a pretty good dude. Wear his skin and weapons are great aswell.

You're farming the wrong crab. Ceanataur has always had kick ass mid tier blademaster armor.

Switch axe is plenty fast when you take the time to learn the basics. You can stay in sword mode at all times (easily possible once you get the energy charge art). Coming from sheathing, open up with R+X+A to go straight into sword mode. Sheathe when you need to, it's quick to get back into sword. From there, spam X when you're trying to hit high for a head/tail, or spam A for quick/decent damage attacks.

IG or LS. Both seem strong in this game. LS has some really good hunter arts also, so I'd recommend striker. Haven't touched IG, but I've heard guild style is as strong as it was in 4U, so that means it's strong AF.

So I haven't posted in this thread much and what I have has been mostly ragging on this game, especially as it compares to 4U. That said, I went the route some people suggested and opted to focus just on key quests. While this doesn't correct all my issues with offline, it certainly helps. Going that route opens up a lot more monsters and by extension gear which really helped me get back on the wagon. I'll probably still try and wring as much useful stuff out of village as I can before I do online with people. The limited access to offline high rank means I probably won't bother soloing as much as I did in 4U, but that's not the end of the world.

All in all I'm coming around to the game now that I don't feel so bogged down by some of the really early tedium.

Don't know if this was mentioned to you before, but offline progression also has hidden series of key quests that will wall you at 5*. They're really straightforward though, just have to

Is this the Choco cat they were sharing on Gamefaqs, because I did grab that one while someone on there was sharing it. I'm not on the game that often so if someone that frequents this thread a lot wants the cat to share with gaf I can send it now.

Don't give up keep checking! I found a perfect cat while checking but I didn't like the color so I passed it up but I eventually found another cat with another set of good skills.

My only tip to anyone looking for their own cat is don't let the bias fool you CHECK ALL 4 Villages for your cat.
