I'll feel so lost coming back.
The veracity of this leak is still in question.
Only thing I will say is that the end of the base game has a few missions that require you to group up with 7 other people who set the pace for the missions. The game then loads you down with 20+ minutes of cutscenes and most people will plow through the missions without you.
If you are getting to end of the base games (doing "duty finder" missions against the big bad) then hit up the OT and we can try to arrange a party to help you get through it at your own pace.
Otherwise, yeah. The Final Fantasy MMOs have some of the best stories in the recent franchise.
Time to get those developers on a non-MMO mainline Final Fantasy.

Nah, they've been doing work in the MMO space. People that skip out on those games are missing out but they're doing well where they are.
I haven't played/subscribed to 14 since December. I hope my character is still there... I want to finish the story.

I personally want to see the FFXII (Quest who also developed Tactics Ogre, FFT etc) and Last Remnant dev teams on a non MMO project, FF or not. Talented bunch.

The game really would not be much different if Nomura was still directing, Nomura would be forced to make changes too as a result of the Versus -> XV rebranding.

So the rebranding was a decision made by the higher ups? I can understand the change from the Versus to XV title, but that doesn't necessarily mean the lore, designs and story has to change drastically. These things seem like the things the director controls. The only thing that would be a bit different would be the lore, story and script. Can't say much about the older battle system, because I have no clue how it really looked or felt like, apart from the trailers.

Well I can instantly tell you Nomura wouldn't ever implement the "Hold O for combo" idea.
He would not have changed the designs of characters in the game because the movie designs were different either.
He probably disagreed with everything the higher ups asked for, and there was probably a huge fallout because people tried to compromise his vision.
As in making XV a multi part series. But square wouldn't fire him because they know his name is too important to throwaway that easily.
So instead they let him make FF7R a multi-part series and what would Kingdom Hearts be without his name in front,
The dude single handedly carries square at this point. He isn't happy about being kicked off from XV either even if he is on FF7.
Why would you want to work on a game you already worked on when instead you can be the one to top it with a new project especially after all these years.
Yeah I can see where you're coming from but all you've said is literally conjecture. There's been no information regarding the fallout unless you have insider info that no one else knows.

They took him off and it wasn't easy. He never talks about it at this point either because he must think they are making it some abomination.

Why do people keep blaming Nomura for Versus XIII? I'm sure it wasn't his fault when SE tried to fix Crystal Tools mess, Final Fantasy XIII and FFXIV 1.0 disaster with all manpower in the company.

Definitely believable. Hope it shapes up before release but honestly every time they show more of this game it looks worse and worse.
You do realize, the game was not in development for 10 years, nor were they even actively working on it for less than half that time right?
Number one, the game was 'rebooted' to 15 in 2012 with Tabata coming in at that time. Which is only 6 years since the announcement. With a further 3 to 4 years of that being no development on the game.
If you look at the development credits above, he had to do a lot of shuffling around the company during that time because he did not even have a team to work on Versus a majority of the time, because the resources kept getting taken away to other projects the higher ups considered a greater priority.
At a certain point, the higher ups(i can tell you it was their decision) decided to force a renaming of the project and a shift in control, and that was def not Nomura's decision to be booted off the project.

I just wish SE would let Nomura focus on core titles, instead of having him work on all these different titles as various roles. He has hand in almost all of Square side titles, especially FF related these days..

Yeah I have no hopes on that, honestly I don't expect anyone to leak it. It's too big of a game and square would ruin your life if you ruined the game for everyone.
With that said though my picture is from nier so I am basically square enix. I can confirm that final fantasy 15 will have a male protagonist.

Well, he's saying the worst fps drop he's ever got was to 26 fps, so that sounds positive.
But how would they know the exact number?
