Mobius Final Fantasy |OT| From the Makers of Final Fantasy XIII

Hard increases Skillseeds if you can still dispatch enemies efficiently. Generally hitting them in the weak spot while in BREAK is massive score (= big skillseed multipliers)

Each Extra on a card has a Ability lv requirement, but you actually unlock them by using that ability in battle

Gacha jobs are 'generally better' than the baseline variants from the 3 base cards, but going for the 3 base cards gives you more variety to begin with. At this point I'd say if your Gacha job is 3 speed stars, go with a default job instead, because that extra speed star makes combat difficulty night and day.

Progressing the story unlocks features and there are some really great first-time rewards for most areas, so unless you're hitting a progression wall you should go for story

Yeah, Mobius Gift Box is a big-ass bang for buck. To put in context, the 6 Summon Tickets alone is worth 3000 Magicite you spend on it.

Just started this game last night, it's pretty, gameplay is ok so far.

What's the quickest and most efficient way to power up at the beginning? Drawing new job cards or skill cards? What should my daily goals be? OP is kinda bare.

You can draw jobs and maxed-out abilities from Summon Tickets. What you get is random, but you can't pull dupe jobs. You can get the best or worst abilities for your intended build this way, so it's actually a crapshoot.

You can draw abilities and maxed-out (at 3*) abilities from Ability Tickets. What you get is exactly what you pick.

Consensus seems to be: Summon jobs, Ability Ticket the 9-ticket maxed abilities x3, save 3000 Magicite for a gift box.

Cool, thanks! I'll dig back in after work.

Was lamenting to myself that even my backup teams were only finding green difficulty and then I remembered you can switch it to hard, all those skillseeds lost forever like tears in rain ;) Looking forward to tomorrow's new gacha jobs, even if my gacha luck dictates I get one of the vanilla ones

Dark Knight please!!!

I'm almost done with chapter 2 and I'm sad. I'll be bored with this game before the next story chapter comes out.
This happens so often with these games.
JP started with only chapter 1 available. :O

It's baffling how little content these things launch initially though.
A good launch product length-wise would've been like 4 Chapters.
(without stamina refills)

Sorted out augmenting the wind cards to 2*, nearly there on water and one away on fire (found out a bit late these can't be 3* yet).

At least the explains why the in-game card index goes chapter 1, gacha, chapter 2 though it doesn't explain why the ordering within is odd. You would think it would thinks cards 1-3 would be 1* to 3* versions of that card (like in Pokemon how it goes Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur)...but nope the 2*s and 3*s "evolutions" are in completely different places (like Pokemon when dealing with evolutions of older Pokemon that were introduced in later gens).

Do silver tickets drop anywhere or do I have no choice but to spend magicite in the shop?

Magicite only. Depending on how much you plan on playing, the bonus skillseeds from the item box would probably be better economically than buying each ticket individually.

One of the start up tips say about how daily missions can give magicites and summon tickets.
Well, I only got the ability ticket + mystic stone since day one.

This game's UI is so bizarre.

It's confusing as fuck, and mostly pure filth.

And yet it has genius ideas that every game in its style should copy, like the three card sorting macros you can easily alternate between. I also love how you can just throw improvement cards into the bank and use them without having to unload them.

Falk

I do wish that browsing, fusing and augmenting used the same pane though. Having the game connect/load/whatev when shuffling between fusing and augmenting and sorting through the bank gets a little tedious.

Bought the gift box. Received mage, gotta save up that magicite now. :( Oh well! Pupu event is pretty good.

I think it's kinda lame you can still sorta get dupes if you level up the skill panel and receive new jobs that way for your base jobs. I just realized I had already unlocked mage from apprentice mage which effectively is like having a dupe. You do get better weapons I suppose but argh. :(

The gacha job Mage has a different evolution line then the base Mage does, it doesn't evolve into White Mage .

Not to mention in that sense all the current jobs are dupes.

edit: of COURSE the UFOs have to be Wind. With me and my souped up Ice/Fire white mage.

Not that I have a problem just nuking them off-element, but more score would be nice.

Hurr.

I'm actually a little happier this morning since there are now some wind Mage cards I can start working on for when Red Mage is released.

This first portion of the event is on the annoying side though since there aren't any real earth Mage cards even if I'm still killing the aliens pretty easily. Some nice seed gains though from a chest that gave 1000 in Fire/Water/Wind

Those new starter cards seem pretty solid, "free" status effects make me think they'll basically replace the current starters. Ugh, got ranger with my job pull. Tempted to pull a second time.

Edit: Pulled again, got Dark Knight, out of magicite and tickets but he should hold up for a good while

Agh. Considering this event lasts a month I'm going to get the last chest (20 of the UFO drops) then go level a secondary wind/earth class then come back for PuPu genocide to finish off maxing out 4* PuPus

there is a 100pupu for a crystal mission in jpn. not sure whether it is in global as well.

tempting to pull, but next batch seems to have much better jobs.
anyone know how long does it take for jpn to get those FF colab jobs?

Speaking of, my short term game plan has changed. Was originally going to go Mage -> Ranger, but I'll switch to Mage farming Wind cards, then crossing over to Knight which has Earth/Wind, and since Warrior classes prioritize attack power over magic, the non-Warrior card (i.e. my new tricked-out Aero) will probably see a lot of mileage to cover no Wind warrior cards just yet.

edit: To avoid confusion, because it's not very clearly explained (ehehehehe) there are two stats that govern damage done, one which I feel is a misnomer:

Attack: Damage you deal. Regardless of class. Affects everything

Magic: Damage you deal with corresponding/correct cards, i.e. Warriors using Sword cards multiply by the Magic multiplier. Should probably have been called "Ability Power" or something.

Warrior classes have high ATK stat, Rangers have high break potential, Mage classes have high Magic stat. Meaning warriors can more easily crunk with Ranger/Mage cards, while Mages will wreck face with Mage cards but are weaker using the other two types.

I'm sure I'm going to accidentally blast past 100 while maxing out 4* PuPu x4 elements, heh.

So I completed the event, rewards are:

1000 of all element skill seeds (including light and dark)
4 Crystals
3 Ability Tickets
1 summon ticket
200 Magicite
Pupu Spirit
UFO Pupu spirit

Not bad for a few hours of auto battle.

Unlocked a new area after completing it, but I'm not quite sure why

The above event information is not true at all lol, we got the updated version it seems.

Blasted through the Pupu stuff and got all the rewards. All of them are 3 star now so I guess the only thing left to do is grind for the mats and get them 4 star. Is there anything else to it?

Maybe my eyes are deceiving me but I think they bumped the resolution for iPhone 6+ users? This morning the game looks way clearer even though I don't have a 'high' option.

What level is good for doing the Pupu thing? I'm still on chapter 1, chasing after the Cockatrice (using base jobs, haven't summoned anything yet) but I don't want to waste the tickets and get destroyed if I'm not ready yet.

Anyone else getting a crazy amount of error 9 and 10's over the last day or two (since the update on Android basically)? Might try migrating to my ipad

Better stats, but honestly speaking I don't feel like the gacha jobs with 3 stars for speed are worth deep-diving over the base cards, since that extra star (which the base cards have on their third job) helps in so many more situations than a little more damage here and there.

Enjoying the game so far but lots of things confuse me. Anyone recommend a good guide online? Few questions:

1. Any other way to get magicite other than buying it? Need more crystals and was thinking about buying them...
2. Can you only get crystals from buying them?
3. What are friend tickets for?

Have lots more questions but hoping once I find a good guide it can answer them for me. Thanks.

Magicite collects automatically; you get about 100 per day, though it has to be manually collected from the distiller meter that's displayed under the gil counter. Crystals are rare boss drops (any boss with a map icon should have a chance to drop them), but you also get a few just by going through the story and events. The friend tickets can be used in a separate section of the summon menu to buy cactaur cards.

I'm still confused on how to progress through cards.

I understand skill seeds, you fuse with the same element.
I understand abilities, you fuse with the same card.
I think I understand the card traits, you level up the card or unlock them with the lightbulb card?
But to change, for example, lesser Aero to Aero, you'd need to use one of those starfish cards? And once you upgrade a card like that, they drop like that from mobs permanently?

I feel like Falk has explained this before but I'm not getting it.

You need to get the card to rarity *3 to turn a lesser Aero into an Aero; and therefore make *3 Aero cards drop from enemies you'd usually only get *1 Lesser Aero cards from.

Fuse with duplicates to get the card's ability to the maximum possible level first, then augment it - you should only need the claws that drop for Treants for the first one. After that, the maximum ability level will rise, so fuse with other Lesser Aeros until it's at its maximum level again.

You'll then need to augment it a second time (from rarity *2 to rarity *3) to finally turn it into a regular Aero; for that you'll need Mindflayer tentacles in addition to the Treant claws you used the first time. When you have the required materials, just augment it again to turn its ability into a regular Aero.

Yeah I levelled a Blizzara 3* to 4* while the skill was at 4/6. Does it increase the Gil cost?

edit@Arkeband: To add on to that, yes, mobs permanently drop at whatever * they've been upgraded to, and the Growfish are for 3*->4* augments (which dropped cards in Ch1 and 2 generally cant do)

The progression would be to feed those dropped cards you unlocked to 3* (Aero for example) to a Gacha Aero card, which can take that extra step of Augmenting to 4*.

edit2: As far as I can tell the traits unlock by simply using the card's Ability in battle a bunch and it unlocks as long as the Ability level req is met.

edit3: Keep in mind Growfish are very, very rare right now. 4* cards are very, very premium. And worth it because it turns a 4-cost Aero into a much more spammable 3-cost Aero.

Unlocked a new area after completing it, but I'm not quite sure why
Each stage of that 4th area exclusively has one of the 4 elements of Pupu...aside from the UFO boss of course (the one that is absent from is the wind only stage). Player EXP I seem to get 1300 from normal and 1690 form hard.

Edit:
401 Wind
402 Water
403 Earth
404 Fire

Would you say its worth upgrading to 4* at this point instead of hoarding for future 4*->5* cards?

Anyone else have an issue where the game just doesn't load? Just hangs at the Squeenix logo. Was playing earlier just fine.
Edit: It updated to an Error 12 screen. Looked it up and it seems I'm SOL until they update the game :\
