Saw Wu before Dirty died; although he was incarcerated lol.

Saw Goodie Mobb open for Outkast before Goodie broke up.

Saw Black Eyed Peas before Fergie.

I'm old.

I definitely fell for the Views hype. Kanye has been trash for close to 5 years now, so not surprising.

Again, my favorite rappers are Gibbs and Roc Marci, so that should give you a idea on I look forward to listening to when it comes to rap music.

Yeah; musically it was dope. Unfortunately the crowd sucked because it was a radio/coca-cola promotion show. Since you couldn't buy tickets, and it wasn't advertised... crowd was half gone, and half not into the music.

I also lived through the brief "Mega concert" phase.. saw Hard Knock Life, Up In Smoke... and the Disturbing the Peace tours. That shit was madness.. stadiums full of some grimey ass people lol. DTP show sucked; everyone including Luda had like 10 of their boys on stage rapping over them.

Watched Method man get knocked out in the crowd at Hard Knock Life. That show in general was nuts; saw a pimp with 5-6 ho's in see-through body stockings all chained together and he was pulling them on a leash lol.

I saw most of the underground/backpacker Cali acts over the years a lot; Dialated Peoples, J5, Living Legends, The Alkoholics. Saw Del do Deltron 3030... Kool Keith during his Black Elvis album tour...

Hard to remember all the acts I've seen. Most recent show was Vince Staples, he was pretty dope. I get that "I'm too old for this" feeling whenever I go out.. although my wife is 25 and I get mistaken for someone in their mid-twenties a lot, everyone looks like kids to me.. GET OFF MY LAWN!

yeah i saw Hard Knock Tour out here with Red/Meth, Jay & X, shit was great. we didn't get many mega hip hop shows again till the mid to late aughts with Rock the Bells...saw Wu, Tribe, Nas, most of the Native Tongue shit, if even well after the era haha

The stage went out into the crowd at the center; he got off stage and went and hugged some girl or something and a dude clocked him.

Then people mobbed on the dude who sucker punched him... Just looked like a cluster fuck from my seats, but the music stopped and Redman was talking about it.. kind of encouraging people to go after the dude IIRC lol. I think that was Hard Knock Life tour, but not entirely sure my memory is correct.

For a while there nobody would insure big rap shows like that so those kind of tours stopped. The genre changed, even though Rock the Bells features many of the same artists as those old tours shit seems to have calmed down a bit.

IdleWild sucked ass man. Stankonia aint that good either although it had some bomb singles.
Go away.

Jeremiah isn't rap and I've honestly haven't heard any of those releases.

The discussion ends here.
Ironically Jeremih raps circles around Drake on that tape. Some really dope varied flows.

That falls into the elitist mentality.

Maybe I'm not as passionate about rap/hip hop in general, but if it's not easily accessible or recommended to me by someone else(which Glass Rebel essentially did), I'm not navigating through the internet listening to every new release because it's literally a waste of time. The average music listener doesn't do that.

In reality, Views is a lock for a top 10 spot on most rap outlets unlike most of those projects probably. Sure politics play a factor as well as many others, but it is what it is.

I mean, I'm not gonna listen to every Bandcamp rapper with half of the name consisting of symbols either, but there are so many good recs from Des & Co. every few days. When you see some of them get reposted by others you know that it's worth checking out. Views shouldn't be on anyone's AOTY list if you're in this thread and should know better.

I haven't read all of the leaks, only the parts about the development troubles. Story bits might be true, but I don't believe the stuff about it not even being playable from start to finish is valid anymore, that rumor referenced a months old build. They wrapped up a master build days ago that they could've already printed and that means it would've gotten through Sony/MS certification. At least that's what I'm telling myself
