Guess I am staying on this system for a while. It is the closest I have gotten to black space and the planets are holding a ton of bank.
wMKEYNM.jpg

One of the planets has Gravitino balls scattered through out. I can make about 500k in 20 minute. Stayed on it for a couple of runs but the toxicity levels are ridiculous. Doesn't help that there are toxic storms that happen every 10 minutes.

Jumped to see what the second planet had going for it and it is literally filled with the Poison Sac things. I am now making 500k within 5 minutes. I have not even left the area around the trading post I found for the 6 times I filled all my slots.

Finally making that cash money. :D

Farmed that planet for about an hour then I got bored. I made over six million, so I guess it's time to say goodbye. I have to continue my journey!

Noticed yesterday that NMS did not save when it was supposed to as the date and time did not update no matter how many time I exited the starship or uploaded at antennas. Solution was to put my PS4 in safe mode (turn Ps4 completely off, then hold power and eject until second beep) and then choose the selection "Rebuild Database". This solves the problem for a little while and then it is rinse and repeit. Luckily Sean Murray says on twitter that a patch is now in testing for both PC and PS4.

Nvidia just pushed out new drivers. Here's to hoping they help some!

Today we released the NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready WHQL display driver version 372.54. This driver provides optimal experience for No Man’s Sky, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Obduction, F1 2016, and the Open Beta for Paragon.

this is my game of the year so far , I've put 20+ hrs into it and be only just got my first atlas pass . I love the graphics , the variety of planets , even the sounds . Having a massive planet as your skybox which you can just go visit still blows me away.

Basically the game I have been dreaming off , I have to at least visit every planet before warping , even if most are just shitholes .

Can't wait to see what the updates bring .

PS4 really needs a real no HUD button. Right on the d-pad does nothing, do it up Hello Games. That or individual toggles like FC4 has.

Edit: 14.5 Sols into my extreme survival milestone. Making decent cash off graviton balls and Calium.

I think I might be done with this game. I feel like it's bugging on me or something, because I have gone through 5 black holes, and my distance to the center of the galaxy has not changed at all. Each time I have gone through one, it has usually said something like "traveled 1xx,xxx light years", the last one i traveled in said it was over 200,000 light years...despite all this so called distanced traveled, when I look galactic map, my distance from the center appears just as much as it was, or maybe slightly below from before I have gone through.

Has anyone else experienced this? This is kinda bull crap, because I put a lot of time into getting my ship up, to be able to travel as far as it can on its own. Now it seems like the real way to get to the center of the galaxy is not even really working for me.

THIS FUCKING GAME
It errored out as i was getting out of the ship, i launch it again, and i have lost all progress since last night........... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU\

Think i am done

Is there a way to clear unwanted points of interest and waypoint markers off your screen? For some reason a bunch of random points are showing up on my map, drop pods, ruins, a bunch of stuff I've already visited and a few things that I got from a beacon but never got around to checking out. I left the planet and now I seem to have a permanent waypoint marker in the sky and it's kind of annoying.

Black Holes aren't the 'real way to the centre' though. They take you very far from your current location but not necessarily in a straight line to the centre. You'd be better off just jumping as many systems at a time as your warp drive lets you. However, I'd highly recommend just playing in the way you enjoy most. Grinding your way to the centre isn't likely to be enjoyable no matter which way you go about it.

So I have picked up Warp Drive Theta a couple of times but it isn't showing up in craftable items. Is there a way to fix this bug?

I picked it up once, and I was like "Sweet!", then it didn't show up. Picked it up again, and it showed up. So.. Just keep looking, I guess?

Reloading the save? Reloading the save off-planet?

The way the waypoint system works sounds kind of weird.. You'd think that this kind of game would have an elaborate/complex but intuitive waypoint/marker system, more detailed galaxy maps, as well as planetary maps.

Ie, planetary maps (Images in inventory or just in the option menu.) that you fill out by exploring the planets might make the exploring more fun and enjoyable. Having some options for customizing/editing the design of the maps could also be fun, such as detail, scale, colours, etc., and the ability to upload these maps to a google-earth like service, along with leaderboards, awards for these things.

Same with a creature database.

Ugh just a little longer

Do you know about the bug/exploit with Gek transmission towers? You can re-enter the code there and just ping a shit load of ship crashes from a single transmission tower and just go from one ship to the other without stopping to trade up ships. It only works on a Gek system for whatever reason.

Another hot tip for Atlas "path", it can be obvious but I missed it for the first 4 or so stops;

When you go to the Atlas stations, you can walk over those lights on the ground to get a ton of words transcribed for you.

Reloading the save? Reloading the save off-planet?

I've called it a night but I'll give that a try tomorrow and cross my fingers. I wish there was a way to get rid of markers on the same planet too, sometimes a beacon will point me to something I don't feel like visiting and just want to clear it from the screen.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before but it's pretty annoying that launching off a planet sometimes catapults me almost out of the atmosphere. Is that a bug or am I sometimes doing something wrong when launching?

I really had my doubts going into NMS but fuck has it hooked me. Not since Diablo 2 have I felt myself spending 3-4 hours straight in a game and feeling like the time just flew by.

Today I found probably the coolest planet as far as things to see and do. Spent like 3 hours on it just roaming.

Place was full of crazing animals, including this fucking t-rex with jazz hands.

Skyscraper high minerals all over the place.

And this badass new ship of mine.

Yeah this was happening for me as well. Found that releasing W right after you take off has prevented from happening.

Oh wow, thanks you for this. Totally works

Can I reach the core of the galaxy by simply following the atlas path?

I have 9 atlas stones now, and it seems like Im nearing the end of Atlas story, But I'm still like 17000 light years away from the core.

Im confused..

That's a result of the game being vague. Yes, the black holes send you 200,000 light years... but it never says in what direction, and that seems to be the catch, with that direction being completely random. So, in other words, it may of sent you 200,000 light years, but of that 200,000, like 195,000 of it will be straight up, above the galactic disk, and only 5,000 of it will actually be in the direction of the center. Or 196,000 of it will be to the right or to the left of where you started, and only 4,000 light years actually towards the center of the galaxy. So, it's accurate... just incredibly, incredibly misleading.

Of course, that's just a guess. The game could also just be making up numbers. But that's what I think is happening there, after hearing numerous other people noticing that exact same thing.

Just had sentinels bug out and stop spawning at level 5 wanted. It just stayed level 5 with no sentinel activity. I had to save and reload to fix. Need that titanium.

I haven't found any gravitinos or vortex cubes on this character yet. I found one with vortex cubes tucked deeply into caves where the sentinels would've even notice you on PS4. That felt more cheaty ;)
Yeah that's always what I see others posting about (one on this page even) and it sounds really boring. My planet has just the right level of work and annoyance that the gravitinos feel like rewards for what I have to do to get them.

Your planet sounds and looks nice. I should really start taking screenshots. Too busy playing to remember I can do that ;P

No. The end of the Atlas Path and getting to the center of the galaxy are completely separate things.

And for what will probably be your next question, they're not exclusive choices--you're able to finish the Atlas Path and then continue going to the center of the galaxy after that if you want, right where you left off.

Do you know if you
lose all your stuff with the Atlas path ending or getting to the center?

No, the atlas path is a quest that is separate to the overall "get to the centre" goal.

Thanks for the answers guys, my hyperdive can travel 300 light years each time. It will take forever to reach the center :/

I know the game makes it sound like the goal is to reach the center, but it's honestly not the case. Because if it were, it'd be way easier to do so.

Just a guess, but:
Delete game and save from system. Reinstall the game and pull the last save from the cloud? Maybe that works.

The save most probably is the save from the cloud, that i got from last night.. As i got in and out of the ship multiple times this morning while playing, so it saved atleast 50 times......

I'm not sure I have ever kept playing a game so much that I feel so many mixed feelings about. Although perhaps I will enjoy it more when the bugs and crashes are hopefully fixed and updates add more content. I'm so sick of being launched into space when I take off from a planet. Especially when space pirates attack when I'm spinning in space.

I am following the Atlas path and on many warps I'm moving away from the center. It's going to take me forever to get to the center it seems. I need to stop exploring so many planets and get moving I guess. I have played 20-25 hours and only warped 9 times. Lol.

Granted, I started the game 173,000 from the center where some I have read on here spawn several thousand light years farther out.

Obviously not much narrative exists in the game, but I do think the brief writing is actually fairly decent when meeting aliens, visiting ruins, and other things.

They definitely have a good foundation built for this game, although it seems it needed more time before release. Obviously though they couldn't delay it much longer for financial reasons most likely. Since the game has sold well though, money shouldn't be a concern for them now and they can concentrate on really finishing what they wanted to do with the game. Perhaps add the features they often talked about before release that don't appear to be a part of the game. Epic space battles, wingman, more interesting weather on planets, etc.

Hell, just making the space stations seem more lively would really enhance the game in my opinion. Put those many chairs in each station to use.

I'm also in the camp that regrets the rare chance of meeting others doesn't appear to be in the game. While chances are I never would have met others, the slim possibility would make it feel less lonely/empty.

Oh man...the game hadn't crashed on me once, until last night when it suddenly crashed 4 times in 20 minutes. Then it calmed down, but about 10 minutes later I found an awesome shield upgrade against extreme cold which didn't show up in my inventory. Then later I got the same upgrade as a reward and it told me I already knew it, but it still hasn't shown up in my inventory.

Damn.

Think I'll just leave the game till the new patch installs. Don't want to ruin the fun I'm having with it.

I'm doing the extreme survival challenge and I'm afraid to even use my ship in case it launches me into orbit and my Sols counter resets.

Space stations are dead until you're ready to leave or have been idle for several minutes I find, then there's a constant flow of ships coming in and out. Every new system I enter and go to the station there's never any ships. It shouldn't be that way every single time. I know you meant other than ships and I agree, there needs to be more life with A.I. in general.

Feel the same about multiplayer.

Some interesting AI interaction happened earlier.

Basically was asking different creatures who were near some water and I fed a few of them to see if they'd give me anything. Then a "cruel" one appeared and tried to attack me, causing some of the other creatures to run scared. I took care of it with my muli-tool but then one of the friendly cow like creatures started attacking me.

I pop a shot off at it but then immediately tried to feed it when I saw the prompt show up again. It worked and the cow thing stopped, made squeaky sounds, and stares at me before running off to alert me of the nearby plutonium. Some of the other "friendly" creatures also came back with gifts. Was pretty cool.
