Hate fighting Ninas to the Max but love she in the game
Not as many out there as Bob but hey..

Cool!

Nina? Yeah she's a bitch to fight.

Btw.
2 days ago I fought this Nina reranker who did that jittery ss+1 shit and all the tech youtube knows. He rolled over me for 2 rounds with his bullshit so I thought it was already 3 rounds lost. So third pops up and I go: "What? It's not over yet? Fine, I go 10 more seconds."

Not giving any shit or effort in combos, punishes literally nothing but playing for him to kill me off already, I win next 3 rounds and match. Hilarious. Guy must've lost his shit.

Lesson: Against Nina play like a idiot without anything to lose.

Somehow all the Ninas I face are either complete scrubs or unstoppable gods
But she is so underused online so I don't pay too much attention

When is Lee coming out?

Lee came out in 1994.

Damn, those shredders. Make me horny.

Give back shredders Harader.

^^punch parries are useful when Nina has you at the wall

I need to man up and use more parries.

Maybe it's just my luck but I came upon tons of "underused" characters. Shitload of Miguel's, Nina's, Lei's. So called "nobody plays" characters.

But I do have something like 15500 online fights.

What is the problem with Bob? Didn't he get any new moves or changes? I'm legit curious.

Are we talking about Nina too? Well, she's shit.

Bob's 2 new moves:

b+4,4 <- it's a copy and paste of the last two hits of b+2,2,4,4 with the exact same properties. You can't even call this a new move, just a new entry point to the string for use in combo's.

u/f+1+2,4 <- They removed an old string that was used for bound and replaced it with a move that does screw attacks now. The utility of the string is still the same from TTT2.

Everything else is a copy and paste. Well, his d/b+3+4 properties were copied from T6 rather than TTT2, so maybe that counts. They even decided to keep the mid crushing properties of his 14 frame WS launcher and monstrous tracking properties of his hopkick. Nothing was re-animated. His SS+1+2 is still safe while every other character's auto-SS mid-hitting wall splatting move is punishable. And his backswing blow still only meagerly punishable despite being pseudo-invincible.

None of those additions/changes give any impetus to try something new or explore new ways of utilizing the character. Some people say Nina hasn't been advanced much either which is kinda true as well, but there was still triple the amount of effort put into Nina compared to Bob. Nina's qcf+1 is completely reinvented where it's utility is extremely different from TTT2/T6. Along with that she now has a tool to use from a while running state, another area Nina players can explore with going into the new game. I'm open to hearing an argument of what new tool-sets Bob received in T7.

It's not just new moves... like I mentioned with Nina's qcf+1 property changes also play a big role, also extra transitions can develop a character. Another example is Steve, he can now duck cancel after his d/f+2 homing move and 10 frame 1,1,2 punisher. None of them are new moves but it's still a very meaningful exclusion because Steve now has brand new tools to explore with after so many common situations that weren't previously available. Also, Steve's extended duck f+2 got a new property change where it has an extra frame advantage where he lands a free hit. It's such a drastic change and a much more legitimate threat that it completely alters how people deal with the Steve matchup. None of those are new moves, but it shows how property changes can still lead to new developments in the Tekken meta-game. You can't say the same about Bob's inclusion in Tekken 7 FR.

Discovery is one of the most enjoyable aspect of videogames. Seeing how developers evolve their cast in new iterations of fighting games is one of the genre's greatest pleasures. And it's the one aspect that made me love TTT2 & SCV as much as I did. NRS are the other dev team that deserves insane amount of credit on how they evolved the cast from MKvsDC to MK9 and then to MKX.

They said Nina wasn't in vanilla T7 because she was being "revamped." Well, that clearly didn't happen. Nina does have slightly new stuff but as someone that's been playing her for years, I don't think there's much new for me to learn with her. She plays almost exactly the same.

I agree, but my whole spiel was in reference to Bob. She at least has a couple of things to explore with qcf+1 and WR+1+2 in the meta-game compared to Bob.

Good Games Ironfist. Bob can ruin whole match for me, lol. I need more training. Much more. Nice Law.

I'm playing bit of Marshall lately but I gotta get the timing of jf dss down.

Ever since I known dss is not really b~f, b~f but b~f~f it's messing me up. b~f, b~f feels more natural but adds unimportant input.

Btw Tekken at Summer Jam is a huge blow up. Tekken Tour shipped the T7:FR cabinets to LA instead of Philly. They wont be here till late tonight completely fucking up a 277 man T7 tournament.

@Tekken
Due to logistical/shipping issues outside of our control, we unfortunately must cancel the SJX Tournament for TEKKEN 7. We apologize...(1/2)
Was planning on going, glad I canceled. Definitely feel bad for the residents that are nearby and the people that spent several paychecks to go.

Just caught the news. Wow, I'm sorry to everyone that went. I can't imagine how angry I'd be after spending so much money. JustFrameJames, Waygamble, Kodee, PLing, and everyone else that went from other regions must be crushed after flying from so far away

Blah sorry you guys had to deal with me on Tag 2 commentary. No one else was willing to do the job. We are trying to coax Aris into doing Top 8 but you might end up having me on again.

I just saw the VSL finals:

That's just crazy how JDCR just knew Knee's pattern and when to step. He was even stepping towards a Mishima's right side where had Knee thrown an electric that would've been over for JDCR. He was that sure about Knee's inputs.

Good games earlier, GrayFoxPL. Have you noticed how many times I get hit by hopkicks? It's insane :p
Still can't handle Paul and his shredders, but I'll get the hang of it. Too bad it got a little laggy towards the end. Also my first time seeing you getting mad because of that :D

Good games.

You must attack when you know people have to tag out. You are letting opponent tag in for free. It doesn't have to be launch every time, just punish. Same with walls if you got someone pinned down don't back off and let them out. Kill'em! If you improve on this you'll get 50% more wins easily.

Sorry for getting mad. When Cloud invited that guy for pair play, good connection turned into lagfest, slo mo. Doesn't feel good to play like this. Pointless. Is that why Genki left? I wouldn't blame him.

Anyway before that it was cool. Cloud still mastah. I gotta play Genki someday, awful customs but I like his fighting style.

I always have to remember being ruthless. A problem of mine is that I often think about "what to do next" instead of attacking. And in the end my gameplay is just flowchart. That's why it's also hard for me to use grabs.

That was Cloud's brother. A great Law/Kazuya player. Especially Offline. Pair Play is difficult Online, but it normally works out with the connection. And you don't have to apologize, everyone gets mad at Online Tekken now and then :p

Genki left because he played someone else. His customs are mostly Anime characters, but he has a fair mix of great and horrible customs overall. His Kazuya can be annoying sometimes, but he's a very good player.

Rewatching that JDCR vs Knee grand final on VSL

JDCR made Dragunov look like a goddam ninja. sidestep punishing everything knee did. Honestly that whole set can be a demonstration video of teaching the importance of movement in tekken.

T7FR looks phenomenal.

So happy to have this crisp, brisk Tekken gameplay back.Movement and SS look smooth again.TTT2 was a clunky mess.

Too bad its a good half a year away.

Anna please. My last wish for the cast(but I am sastisfied anyway)
