Kojima is a superstar, he is only at these shows like justin bieber or snoopdogg at random event, to make it more exclusive

Lmao at Kojima turning this into an open world game. So much for that small project he was going for. This won't see the release before 2019.

He always said he was making a big game with a small team. That big game just happens to be an open world game. See you in 2021, Kojimbles.

Kojima trying to create hype for his 2025 game, I see

Because he has literally nothing. lol. He said so himself, "oh we can finally start creating the game now!".

Why he was invited (?) on stage, who knows.

Seriously. Dude gets millions from Sony, fuck right off.

Because he is literally GOD. Miyazaki is nothing compared to him.

Actually I believe back around when he took the Sony deal he specifically said he was going to make a big game because he knew people would be disappointed if he stopped making big games.

Considering "real" spoilers about the entire game, except for one huge detail at end of the game, are out in the wild, one should really watch out not to click too many of these fat black spoiler tags.
What?

I'm ready for this to not be great.

Kojima has stuck with the same genre for decades, and publicly berated his team's attempts to branch out of it (with Metal Gear Rising).

Now it's all eyes on Kojima and Rope Simulator 2019.

Good, MGSV is still the best TPS ever created, I'm ready for his next Open World game, the 4K part is annoying though, I prefer something like 1080p@60 FPS with amazing graphic than ~4K@30 FPS with sacrifice on it...

It's one thing to have low expectations but his wording makes it sound like he's rooting for Kojima to fail?

Maybe just your feeling, don't know without his response but personally if I said it (it wouldn't be rooting) but expecting

Been a long time since a really overall great MGS game. It's sort of like Miyamoto at this point, his idea for what a game or genre for a certain character has changed.

I miss his crazy ideas and structure a lot. MGS is still the best in the series to me, and 2 was still fun but they have been going way downhill to a point where if MGS5 was the first MGS game, I doubt anyone even cares about it or kojima honestly.

I *really* don't understand why they have him on stage if he can't talk about the game in any kind of detail beyond vague concepts.

I'd rather have media silence and wait than get blue balled every time Kojima decides to show up at a conference.

Yep, I fully agree. He should get his head down and spend 3+ years working on this, and then bring it to a conference with a gameplay trailer and blow the fucking roof off. I've no interest in hearing concepts and promises when they won't even be ready to show footage for at least a couple of years.

Let's just hope he utilizes the open world format better than MGSV did.

On the contrary, I hope he doesnt go after the "standard" open world requirements ie: a shitload of worthless collectibles, viewpoints, question marks and other irrelevant stuff that make little, to no sense at all being placed in the game's world.

...No? Alienous doesn't suggest or imply that at all. Maybe he's got low expectations for whatever reason, or maybe he didn't like MGSV so isn't expecting much from this.

Holy shit guys, Kojima da gawd is BACK

To say one thing tho, seeing chibi Del Toro definitely makes me happy. He seemed pretty emotional about Silent Hills not happening so I'm glad Kojima, Norman Reedus and him are back together.

I had no idea that Del Toro was back on board with this - is this a recent addition?

I'm a big fan of MGS1-3, enjoyed my time with 5 but honestly I feel like Kojima is getting his head further and further up his own ass. He's coasting off the power of his name and seems happy to do so to an embarrassing degree.

Dude needs to wait til there's an actual game or at least solid concept he's willing to discuss ffs.

I appreciate the defense but in the interest of full disclosure I was a little bit, haha.

I want a good game of course, so rooting isn't the right word. My point was, given how Kojima lambasted his team for trying (and failing) to branch out into a new genre (with Metal Gear Rising, having such little faith that he gave the game to another developer) I'm really critical of how Death Stranding will come together.

double jump

you haven't lived until a random little kid ask you "how do you make love".
Low key hope this project becomes the sci-fi darks souls game I always wanted.
And the open world did suck in mgsv. It was either too big or too empty, maybe both.
