FIFA 17 demo releases today

Finally tried the pc demo.

Maxed +4xmsaa at 1440p gives me...240 fps.

I need to lock it a 144 but the game only gives you no lock or 30/60.

Turned off some assists and played a match, felt pretty good tbh. The game speed was also fine, expected it to be faster.

Need to play some more games ofc to see how much I like it.

The CPU did a weird thing holding up the ball with Ibrahimovic, using his body to shield it, for 20 seconds or so. Looked really odd.

I played just one game and the story mode, but I find it astonishing that it's pretty much FIFA 16 in shiny. In Story Mode Depth of Field was bugged and AA is overall a problem.

The new corner system is interesting and a saw a great new goalkeeper animation. Oh, and the offside call is made far quicker than in 16.

I was going to get the pc version but I could not find anyone to play FIFA 16. I will end up getting the PS4 version

What do you mean ?

Even now it takes literal seconds to find an online match in amy mode

Doesn't play like 16 either, I've got a lot ( far too many) hours on 16 and the changes are immediately apparent.

The new low shot ( double tap O) seems a bit OP though

I played a bit of The Journey and the gameplay felt better than the Be a Pro in Fifa 16 (and I played quite a lot of that in the past weeks to notice the differences). Now it might be because of some scripted things for this short demo, but the AI seemed more aware about what's happening on the field and a bit more adaptive to the play.

Visually it has improved but gameplay wise PES 2017 really excels this year over FIFA.

The AI is still dry, you'd think they could could actually implement something decent but EA don't seem to have the capacity to do that.

I've played about 1000 hours perhaps more on 16, and this is definitely more similar than it isn't

It feels pretty different to me but that's also in comparison to all my sliders being altered in 16. I agree that Journey felt fairly different from Be A Pro, but yeah, hard to tell if that's just specific Journey stuff.

Mourinho's model looks unfinished.

In the PC version how easy it is to find "option files" and stuff for FIFA?

Like in-game options or saved games etc?

Someone needs to come into the football computer game market, take it by the scruff of the neck.

The games have hardly progressed in a long time, might have even regressed at times.

Well, the more modifications the better. I remember that in PES it was easy to even download completely modified teams and even add teams that weren't there in the first place.

The Journey demo is so good. Can't wait to play this, so so pumped! It's everything I roleplay while doing a player career mode.

As for mechanics, not sure if I like the new penalties system, otherwise seems fine by me.

Honestly not enjoying it. Might be just me missing my sliders but everything feels really sluggish. I usually hate every demo at first but who am I kidding I will most likely get this.

Scored a goal with Ribery, ran towards advertising and he leapt on, layed down and posed. That's been my highlight. Gameplay is too similar to 16, with greater focus on physicality. Tackling is better, but through balls seem harder. However, scoring long shots seems way more satisfying because it doesn't seem as cheap.

One question - is the Berba spin missing in this? I can't seem to do it, but it was my go to move in FIFA 16.

Fifa has the edge in graphics but PES much better gameplay this year. Pes just feels more like real football to me if that makes sense.

The the flying fuck is with these corners?!?!?!?!?!?! 😱😤😤😫😤😫
The standard pass speed is a bit too slow, too.

I'll be playing on PC this year.

No subscription, cheaper game (and cheaper players on FUT).

Less people but also less idiots.
Somehow it's really difficult to play online it can't never find an opponent I got a good connection at 75 mbs I don't know what is the issue

Downloading. Very curious about the new History mode.

What is the lowest price you guys think we can get this on PC when it is out? Thinking about getting it if I like the demo and the first reviews are ok, but I don't usually buy games on launch, let alone Origin games.

I gotta disagree there, I think PES players models are far superior than the FIFA models.

To me this just feels like FIFA 16, there doesn't feel like any difference in gameplay at all, its all very sluggish. What's with all the shots hitting the bar, I've hit it about 10 times in 3 matches. I'll play a few more matches before bed and maybe it will click but I'm not enjoying it at all so far.

Yep, has to be a bug

Hit the bar more in this demo than fifa 16 and 15 combined

The more I play The Journey on different difficulty levels the more I like the gameplay. I really hope this style of gameplay will apply also to Be a Pro. It would fix a lot of the little annoying things from Fifa 16.

Please be as good in the final game.

It was pretty fun, when my friend refused to give me a fistbump back before the match, I was like "Oh so that's how it is". Afterwards they asked how it felt for best friends to be making our debuts together, I was straight to the "Didn't think about that to be honest". Friendship OVER.

I noted his replies in the post-match interview were a little "grand speech"-like. Never heard a footballer talk like that.

Gameplay seems pretty much the same, long shots seem a bit better though (finally) which is good.

Don't mind the new PK system.

Just played a few matches, it feels a bit different to the beta and not in a good way. :\

theoretically the beat should in a more advanced state than this demo

anyway, can't really judge the demo because i get the impression i am playing it wrong since i can't score while playing at the same difficulty than the one iuse for fifa 16...
cp seem way better in reading and cutting passages,so developing the play is slower, but as i said,it's possible that i'm just bad at this
the panalty and corner system seems uselessly obtuse to use.
i'll try it again tomorrow and see, since i'm getting the game no matter what

Haven't played a football game since FIFA 06, so this feels pretty great. I also downloaded the PES demo, but that game seems to lack a lot of the features FIFA has. The Journey alone makes me vastly more interested in the later.

Features like? The Journey isn't anything great, once you've finished I highly doubt it'll be played much again.

Credit for trying something different though.
