STEAM | September 2016 - Good job doing previous stuff, let's do new stuff

It doesn't matter in the interim as FoD subs can't be registered to accounts when the app is unreleased.

It locked prices to Free for some reason. I just thought that I had figured it out already.

You are making item DLC for AoT?
From what I recall, items in your game are just a tiny bit of flavour text with an associated buff. How much would you be charging for that?

Nope. Quests and shit. The item only DLC is free. Halloween will have content just like the SDCC DLC. The Winter of Steam DLC will most likely be free, just like the Summer of Steam DLC was.

We're aiming to be the Train Simulator of Visual Novel DLC.

Not really, just two more.

They never said it was PS exclusive

Multiple times, actually.

Koei Tecmo Games exclusively for the PlayStation®4 platform.

But wouldn't surprise me if it came as direct port to PC on later date.

For you.
wait why is Nioh stuff being posted here? Do we just assume it's coming to PC or does someone know something?

When announced at a Sony conference, Sony called it a "console exclusive". Furthermore, Sony doesn't seem to put any marketing push into it since then. I think it's fair to assume there's no deal with Sony from Koei Tecmo and that despise their "exclusive on PS4" wording on press releases, it will eventually release on PC, because, well, it really wouldn't make much sense otherwise. Koei Tecmo spends all their time porting port after port of mediocrely selling titles and they keep at it just fine, even bringing the nichest of titles day and date sometimes. Not releasing Ni-Oh which would easily become their fastest selling biggest titles they would ever release on Steam, it just doesn't make sense why they wouldn't.

It doesn't make sense economically or historically to keep it exclusive, likely candidate to come to PC. Though more likely to be a terrible port.

If this meant anything I'd be playing Metal Gear Solid HD collection on Steam while waiting for my Monster Hunter download to finish.

Appreciate the responses though guys, I really hope it does come soon.

Im pretty sure its also coming to PC, but there is no point in posting news about the game until its announced for PC.

Why? The game is most likely coming to PC so there is no harm in discussing it here.

Those aren't in any way relevant.

Well then let's news about FFXV and KH3 on PC. I mean, even though there's no sign of a PC-version, there shouldn't be any problem posting news about them since they might be coming, right?

I noticed there are many releases planned for next week, so I wondered whether there would be some games left for next year. I took some time to go through games coming soon or in early access but planned for release in 2017 and came up with 10 titles.
As it took some time, if it is of interest for any of you, here they are, with the 10th being Shenmue 3, hopefully on Steam:

At this point I don't see any reason NOT to think that XV will be on PC.

Though I'm still waiting for Tactics...

FFXV is coming, that's not even a question to begin with. So yeah, I don't seem to see the problem.

Those are very likely targets for PC ports, especially XV. So they would be entirely relevant to the thread.

People have been posting XV information for years anyways.

Yes?

I mean, even if they weren't (which they 100% are), what's the problem with discussing games in general?

Hey this is kind of cool. They have Dishonored 2 and Watch Dogs 2 available for the promotion.

Both are definitely more relevant than some random Japanese samurai game by Tecmo, but ok :)

How is a game under a Nintendo contract and a game released years before Konami devoted their releases to the platform, have to do with a game from a company that releases a plurality, if not a majority, of their releases on PC at this point?

This is discussion is absurd.

Well I mean at least Metal Gear and Monster Hunter are in some form on PC to be just relevant enough, though at that point we could also just be talking about PPD which is basically just a Project Diva simulator for PC.

There are at least some MGS games on PC and there was a heavy rumor going on about an MGS HD Collection for PC which most likely got canned when the Kojima accident happened.

The context he was referring to was the initial MGS HD release on consoles.

Now, obviously, that discussion has changed. MGS HD Collection/Legacy is a highly likely port for Konami to target.

Bundlestars Nemesis Bundle
TIER 1 - Pay only $1.49 for:
Risen 3 - Titan Lords
Insurgency
Contagion
Joe Dever's Lone Wolf HD Remastered

TIER 2 - Pay only $4.99 for:
Killer Is Dead - Nightmare Edition
The Ship: Remasted
Deadfall Adventures
Out of Reach
The Masterplan
Dead in Bermuda
Toren
Broken Sword 5 - the Serpent's Curse

TIER 3 - Pay $7.49 to add:

This looks like good value. Few repeats from other bundles. And a few interesting games like the lone wolf, the bermuda thing, etc.

The only time Contradiction appeared in a bundle, it was in one by BundleStars.

I'm still mad I passed on that bundle, because the game has literally never gone on sale again

You are not alone on that. I am mad because I saw the bundle and still passed. Little did I know the game was so highly considered. I think BundleStars is among the top bundle sellers.

Konami would have to be a game developer for that assumption to work.
They aren't. Not anymore.

Don't be hyperbolic, they literally announced a game recently.

The industry is changing dramatically, we are now entering a deflationary period. Expect to see more companies do the same as Konami, Capcom, Sega, etc. Focus less on AAA big budget experiences, and focus more on safe investments. Porting MGS HD/Legacy and reusing assets like in Survive are low hanging fruit for Konami to take.

...but I do already post FFXV stuff. KH3 might come too. Not so sure about the speed of that though.

Konami is more of an exception. They have a big library of classic games that would sell well if they did a good release plan for them, but their higher ups don't care much about making their catalog available on many systems.
If you have a JP Wii or Wii U you can play their MSX1 and 2 libraries as they're available on that eShop.

It doesn't make sense, this is why KT wont do it. Pack it up guys, I hate to be the party pooper, but Ni-Oh will be one of these PS4 exclusive "just for the sake of it".
KT never made sense on PC. Porting the arcade version and going to the trouble of making an hybrid version for Dead or Alive 5 instead of porting the PS4 version which was simpler. Giving bad ports to the IPs with more selling potential like Attack on Titan or One Piece. Giving the best port for the bomba stuff like Arslan or Bladestorm.

Sometimes, you must understand that what makes sense economically isn't what happens. Hence why FFXV isn't a day and date release (too much work for a PC version yet a magical PS4 Pro version appeared out of thin air), hence why SEGA put the port machine on "really slow" position after VC's success, hence wht Atlus keeps their stuff out of PC after multiple Japanese publishers find success (we all know P5 would be a guaranteed 100 to 200k first month seller).

Ni-Oh is one of these makes sense situation which just wont happen. Unless the game manages to be somehow crazily bad.

Another example of KT not making sense is DOAX3, they have English version of the game but it is only released in Asia.
Which is why I'm not personally expecting Ni-oh to hit PC, they usually are pretty clear with what they say, but honestly only time will show.

I'm not.
Konami is a publisher and a gambling company now.
Their former developer staff is relegated to cleaning bathrooms and security positions in an effort to force them to retire.
(They may contract someone to port their IPs to new revenue streams. That doesn't make them a game developer though).
