Just waiting for a dumbass response from their police union now. But sitting for the anthem is more upsetting to the majority.

Sympathetic jury in 3..2..1..

What would you do? You're a woman just wanting to go home to your children at the end of the day? What would you do?

Americans are so fucking racist and stupid.

There should be a 3rd party government agency not affiliated with law enforcement at all that's only agency is to fire, blacklist, and/or prosecute law enforcement officers when necessary.

A sort of judiciary checks and balances for law enforcement if you will.

So I read the story and am trying to figure out.. why did they command him to raise his hands in the first place? Couldn't find why he was treated like a suspect.

How do you train someone to not be systematically racist? The police need a reboot, not retraining.
Okay I agree the police need some serious reform here but how would you go about doing it?

I'm not being condescending, I'm genuinely curious what some viable solutions could be.

You're going to think I'm being sarcastic but because he was black.

it sounded like he said something like "time for a taser, i think".

totally insane that he got shot though, what the fuck were those cops doing? absolutely disgusting.

You're right I think. I edited my post before you posted, by a minute or so. I got carried away but honestly wouldn't surprise me at this point.

That would be a terrific start.

Honestly, I think this is the most cut and dry case of murder so far. It could only have been an accident - there's no way they intended to pull the trigger

The whole thing just seems fucked from bottom to top.

Completely inexplicable.

See, black people in Oklahoma are known to spring traps on cops by appearing to be stranded motorists only for them to jump out of the back of the van and blow the entire police force away. It's only safe for the police to approach every black, stranded motorist as though they were wearing a bomb.

can you post an article or is this "word of mouth"?

How do we make sure the people policing the police don't just side with them?

Why would the people policing the police side with them? When have you ever seen a group that is charged with exerting power over another group willingly give it away? The people policing the police wouldn't side with the police for the same reason the police don't side with black people.

Seriously..

Was the story really as simple as.. approach black man in need of assistance, command him to raise arms, shoot when he approaches his vehicle? I can't comprehend that.

Holy shit that was egregious. She need to be arrested for murder. If she gets off every motherfucker better be kneeling on Sunday.

I know you are exaggerating here but this scares me even more than the action of the officers in this incident.

I'm not though. It's not a large majority but you know over 50% is a majority. If a majority wanted police reform it would actually be happening and we would start seeing more accountability across the country.

This will never fucking end, will it? We have no one out here to protect us guys. Living in an America where I can be murdered just because was born black makes me fucking nauseated. And the worst part is, I have no idea what we can do to fix it.

bender

What time is it?
Why stun him if you're gonna shoot him anyway? Why even stun him in the first place if he's complying AND doesn't have a gun

That's a fucking execution.

Why use any force in the first place? His car broke down. Help him move the vehicle off the road and get him in touch with a tow truck.

Hopefully the police that used the stun gun and the murderer get appropriate prison sentences.

So what did he do? Breathe? Stand still? Comply? Not comply well enough? Comply too well to not be suspicious? Seriously, what the fuck do black people need to do in America to not get executed like this? It's fucking insane. There are no words that can adequately describe just how positively insane this is.

This man did absolutely nothing wrong yet he was murdered like he was gathering Ki to attack these cowardly fucks or something, because apparently US cops believe black people got superpowers.

The UK has its own plethora of race-related problems, I know that, but thank fuck our cops aren't all armed.

I'm sure they'll find a way to get them off the hook.

the part that makes me sick is that this bunch of fucking cowards will band together to protect themselves when they so obviously fucked up.

I remember my junior year of College. I was driving from Houston to Austin, and there was a storm behind me. I was just ahead of the storm, it was one of those situations where you could literally see the rain behind my car. And so I'm passing La Grange and I see a cop broken down on the side of the road trying to change his tire. Now, about a week before that, my car had broken down, and a cop stopped and helped me change the tire. I decided to "pay it forward" and pulled over to help the cop change his tire before the storm came.

As I approached the cop, he stood up and pulled his gun on me and started shouting at me to "calm down." I explained to him that I wanted to help him change his tire and he waved me away, with his gun still in his hand, saying "I don't want any help, go."

That situation has always stuck with me.

Yep. As long as their areas are policed and kept clear of 'undesirables' most are happy to overlook stuff like this.
Yup they will not care unless its in their backyard. That is the main reason why protests HAVE to be disruptive as much as people say " its not the right way"

The fact that police unions are fighting against body cams so hard is really telling too because the stats are that body cams are overwhelmingly used to exonerate officers when accused of wrongdoing. So why fight against them? Makes you think....

Officer Betty Shelby: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know
http://heavy.com/news/2016/09/betty-jo-shelby-tulsa-oklahoma-police-officer-cop-terence-crutcher-photos-pictures-shooting-video-charlton-sanders-holycross/

The Oklahoma police officer who fatally shot an unarmed black man whose car broke down in the road on September 16 has been identified as Betty Shelby.

The 42-year-old officer fired the single shot that killed Terence Crutcher, 40, in Tulsa, the Associated Press reports. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

“One fact I do know is that my brother was unarmed,” Tiffany Crutcher, his twin sister, said. “I’m just devastated.”

Tulsa Police said the shooting occurred near 36th Street and Lewis Avenue about 8 p.m., KOTV reports.

Crutcher’s SUV had stalled in the middle of the road, and police arrived to check on the situation, according to the news station.

“As they approached the vehicle a black male started towards them,” Tulsa Police spokesperson Jeanne Mackenzie told KOTV. “They asked him to show his hands. He refused to follow commands given by the officers. They continued to talk to him. He continued not to listen, not follow any commands as they got closer to the vehicle he reached inside the vehicle and at that time there was a Taser deployment and then a short time later there was one shot fired.”
The bold is clearly a lie, evident in the video showing Crutcher complying with his arms raised. Thus the rest of their statement can not be taken at face value and is worthless. Not that anyone here expected the police department not to fabricate their version of events. We expect them to be liars and they continue to justify that expectation. We expect them to attempt to cover up their own criminal behavior and they continue to brazenly do so even in the face of clear wrongdoing.

2. Her Husband Is Also a Tulsa Cop & Was in the Helicopter at the Time of the Shooting

4. She Has Been Placed on Paid Administrative Leave While the Shooting Is Investigated

5. Crutcher Was a Father of 4 Children Who Was Studying at a Local Community College

"Looks like a bad dude."

If it's an accident, then you go up and provide medical help right away to try to save his life. Not back off and let him bleed out.

And before anyone tries to tell me that it's a procedure they have to follow, if one of the officers had accidentally been shot, they wouldn't let him lie there and die.

Has Trump commented yet? I mean he's so eager to comment about these types of things. Oh yeah, only when they work in his favor. Nevermind.

While we're at it, this whole "it's illegal to film the police" bullshit needs to go away. And police need to stop being able to confiscate phones from people who aren't being arrested.

I hope they're successful because even just disputing a made up driving ticket with a police officer as a white male is an exercise in futility.
Police unions will do everything they can to fight it - despite them being fair demands. They seem to want absolute power, and more importantly, be granted everyone's idolatry. Some really psycho individuals in police unions... and apparently on the force as well.

Doesn't mean we give up though.
She will say she thought she was pulling her taser, I'm sure.
The old Johannes Mehserle defense. Or Reserve Deputy Robert Bates, who used the same excuse. I bet you all forgot about this, also happened in Tulsa. He even got to go on TV with his family and DEFEND HIMSELF (Matt Lauer actually did a good job here). Some of that old white privilege there. Jury wasn't convinced though (the defenses argument was so lame and insulting)

Wow @ both of the videos in the OP.

The cops on the ground have some serious explaining to do as to why their accounting differed so much from the facts.

These people need to get arrested for this shit. This is murder.

I didn't expect the helicopter video to be as bad as it was. Those cops need to be disciplined as well.
