Street Fighter V |OTV| BUFF MY MAIN & NERF THE CHARACTER I JUST LOST TO

That's exactly what I mean. Because I never had that problem in 4. I don't think it was common, either.

It was very common on PC thanks to the lower player count compared to the 360 and ps3. It was at the point where I was matched with Ossiel123088 too many times that I just quit the game.

I'm so fed up with this game matching me with foreign players and regions in casual/ranked. How do I filter out non-US region on PC?

I have the game on 4-5 bars filter and it's stuttery more than half the time.

Hey SF Gaf. I posted this over on REDDIT, and i was hoping to get some feedback here. If this oversteps ToS, please let me know and I'll kill it asap. I'm def not trying to get banned. Worked to hard to keep this membership! lol...

anyway:

I’m Shola. I’m the Street Fighter Producer at Yahoo Esports. I’m the guy that you’ve seen with Michael Martin at all of the events this past year if you’ve been going to the tournaments.

I’m new to the FGC even though I’ve been playing street fighter since 1991. I love the game. We both do, actually. Although I’m a forever scrub, Street Fighter is that comfort food that keeps me going whenever I fall out of love with the rest of video gaming.

Here’s the thing: Street fighter-related content just isn’t setting the charts ablaze on any website. Pick any site. Youtube numbers tell a dismal tale, which is crazy considering that the /r/streetfighter community is nearly 50k strong.

I’m reaching out because i’d genuinely like to know the type of content that the community would like to see. Yahoo Esports, as well as several of our fantastic competitors like FloKo, Daily Dot (R.I.P.),Bleacher Report, and ESPN, are working incredibly hard to make interesting content of the type you might find in traditional sports outlets.

I can’t speak for other sites, but I suspect that there’s a feeling that the FGC deserves this type of attention. The community is awesome, the game is fantastic, and it’s finally time.

I go to Eventhubs and Shoryuken just like everyone else. I check /r/streetfighter, and yes, even /r/kappa, too. I totally get that those sites are fantastic aggregates of all fighting game-related content. They’ve perfected it.

However, Yahoo Esports is trying hard to make specialized content that offers a more intimate look at the players that you love and follow. Mike and I work well together because we share the same goal of bringing personal stories up front. We hope that you want us to continue that.

What type of videos would the FGC like to see on a regular basis?

Do you want more recaps of weekly tournaments?
Do you want more gameplay analysis and breakdowns from pro fighters?
Do you want more from our DNA or Food Run series where we talk one-on-one with athletes in a way that you’re not used to seeing?
Do you dig our 60 second series, or our Who is Your Demon pieces,
where you learn about the players that have been thorns in the sides of fighters for years, or what LPN’s favorite game is?

Whatever it is, whatever your idea, let me know. Tell me here. I want to do whatever it takes to get more of the /r/Streetfighter community watching and involved in our content. Or hell, even our competitor content. A rising tide raises all ships, right? I want to see the whole scene prosper.

Mike and I have so many more ideas, but it’s difficult to convince the folks who matter that the content is worth the investment, when the numbers simply don’t justify them.

So let me know what you want to see, and where you want to see it? Yahoo? Youtube? Facebook? More TWITCH streaming?

I’m game. Hope to hear from you guys. Oh, and if you want to beat up scrubby super bronze on PSN, I’m sakinnuso or CFN: blackbanditsho.

So apparently the CWA arena, Dubai stage, and Dan's Dojo mode stuff is BS. From Reddit:
Xkira lol. Hes full of shit, he makes a lot of shit up for attention.
That "new" Dan title was posted three months ago by rrkappasvoice https://www.reddit.com/r/StreetFighter/comments/4u8p7d/all_titles/. That dubai looks fake, something someone makes in 5 mins using photoshop. Stock photo of dubai and just put _DBI somewhere lol. If you check his facebook page you will see he started posting those fake screenshots a long time ago, not yesterday.
Dont believe his lies, just wait until coolestguy or rrkappasvoice post something. Xkira already did this "new character slots discovered??" before during the beta and ended up being nothing.
Edit Forgot to mention he also said the mistery costume was for evil ryu and that he saw this in the ps4 files..

Honestly I wasn't even aware of Yahoo esports. Sounds cool. I'll check it out. So I guess my first suggestion is to advertise a bit. Maybe interview some players, get them, cfn, etc. to tweet about it.

One thing that I'd be really interested in and I think hasn't really been done yet is getting some history of SF and the competitive scene.

Ok bandit. I have to say (as a casual) SFV is pretty ok. Its definitely way more accessible than 4 was. However, your company has had a very poor track record in keeping a customer's trust. Things like rootkits, shady online infastructure, and limiting options like customisibility is not a way to get new people. If I were to pick a specific fighting game to play, I would honestly play MKX right now. Yet I don't own MKX, I have street fighter V and I care about street fighter. The reason why I said MKX is because because it has visual flares and more options to suit a person's play style. I honestly can't say how you are suppose to make the game better for esports, but for newcomers here's what you do,
1. Streamline a dojo mode, no one I know who is a new player knows about trials unless I tell them there is one.
2. Make CFN id finding less shitty in general, pc and ps4 compatibilty is suppose be inclusive not something that requires skype calls.
3. Make costumes cheaper, SF4 had good costume packs and 5 feels like your just asking for money. I know it isn't easy to make costumes but having more packs is a great way to get people to pay.
4. Arcade options, self explanatory since people dont like survival.
5. Just a better communication with the playerbase. I will gladly play you on Ps4 tomorrow to see if you got the skills to beat a bronze scrub like me.
begin here.
Edit: wait, are you affiliated with capcom in anyway, if not forget everythin else and just listen to this:
Tell people that you exist. I honestly feel like if you don't promote enough to gain viewership, people won't watch you because they don't know you exist. I know a top SF at school and I'm sure he would like to give an interview. I would say more but I need to check out yahoo esports section first. Being inclusive never hurts to build a following.

thanks for the feedback. Yeah, advertising is a big thing that is a real hassle with a company as large as Yahoo. One of the advantages of sites like, say, Easy Allies, is that they're small enough to have direct interaction with the community and rapid implementation. Larger machines have a difficult go of it. I used to work at Viacom, and the problem was similar. Old media has a tough time wrapping it's head around the idea of personality-driven content with immediate access to outlets like TWITCH and YOUTUBE. We're working on it, though.

To your point, yeah we've been plugging away at Esports content since March. We've done quite a few interviews with players, as well as short-form player profile pieces that I'm particularly proud of. For example, we just launched a series called Food Run where we copied Anthony Bourdain and sat with Kbrad at a restaurant for a super casual interview about all things Food and Street fighter. We've got one coming up with Xian in Singapore.

Also, I did a thing called The DNA where we talk to fighters about themes important to them which helped shape them into who they are today. Alex Valle, Justin Wong, and LPN have been covered so far. Sherry Jenix is next in the pipe.

Anyway, we've done a lot. I can't link here because of ToS, but they're all on Yahoo esports.

I've been getting some interesting feedback from Reddit. I'm just glad that the community really wants to see better exposure.

One of the personal things I'd LOVE to see from capcom is integration of more elements that move SFV closer to actual sports /sports games. For example, I'd love a career mode where you're an up-and-comer in the FGC and you're fighting known fighters in the scene, choosing which tourneys to travel to, trying to get sponsorship, and clawing your way toward Capcom Cup. Fighters would have up-to-date stats, and accurately reflect their standing at the moment in the FGC.

Also, ghost fights. You vs. ghost battles from the best FGC folks with computer A.I.

I just want as open a communication as possible with the community so that we can make better content, and, perhaps even communicate to Capcom.

Finally got to Ultra Silver!

With Titanfall 2 landing tomorrow I probably won't be playing for a while, and figured I'd have a quick "make or break" session.

I was at 4986 points and my heart skipped a beat when a Silver story mode Ken showed up on the versus screen. Managed to take the first game, and he didn't seem to want the runback, so here I am.

Urien is definitely my dude. I feel so much more confident with him than I did Laura (with whom I could never escape Super Silver). My fundamentals and footsies also feel better in general. His AA game in particular really makes you think about what to use at what distance, which has in turn helped to improve my spacing and reads.

Haven't had a chance to use the EX knee tech shown several pages back, but practicing reset stun combos while waiting for matches has also improved execution in general. What a fun game SFV can be! Gonna leave on this high note, but I'll be back to get bodied sooner or later, haha.

One thing I'd like to see more of is analysis of current standings in regards to Capcom Cup qualification. Maybe discuss things like how a specific upcoming tournament could affect the rankings, and whether or not there are well known people participating who are close to qualifying or might need to do particularly well in a specific tournament to qualify.

I feel like content would be a lot more engrossing if you made the Pro Tour feel more like a cohesive league or event with your coverage. A lot of sites that cover this sort of thing really treat every tournament or event as its own disconnected thing while I think some people might be more likely to stay interested if they can get a sense that this is an ongoing, interconnected event, and that all of the tournaments that are part of the tour lead directly to a larger whole.

Hopefully I was able to explain that well enough. Feel like I was rambling a bit. Sorry if I was unclear at all.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm definitely guilty of treating each tournament as a standalone thing and not really making the effort to follow individual players on their path.

If that sort of info was consolidated and we could get a better idea of the bigger picture, it would not only be easier to follow, but become more engaging as well.

As for media, time zones mean I usually miss streams. I'd like it if there was a well-produced Youtube channel that I could visit for all tournament coverage and major event breakdowns. I think the biggest problem is that it's so fragmented right now, even on Youtube (which may be the reason for the numbers).

Thanks for reaching out, btw. I'm sure there are people who are much better informed than me who would have a better idea of what would work for the community, but there's my 2cents as a semi-competent player and casual spectator who would like to feel like his chosen Esport is growing.

vframes is discontinued. FAT is the go to free app. Should be on ios.

Shame. I really liked that app :(
Will check out FAT, thanks for the heads-up.

Gameplay analysis and breakdowns from pro fighters can be really interesting, Arturo did a video series about this for Injustice where he analyse tournament matches and I used to really love those despite them being badly produced and me not caring about Injustice.

Redundant content like news and tournament results wont bring clicks unless it's best source out there for such thing. Right now both SRK and Event Hubs are dropping the ball, another site can probably take their place by offering faster updates.

FGC youtube content will always bring less views than other e-sport stuff, but nicely produced unique content can still find big enough success to warrant its existence. Core-A-Gaming is a nice example of that.

One thing I would like to see is players breakdown their own character. Perhaps talk about a matchup that's favourable for them and a matchup that isn't, and give players advice on what to focus on and what not to.

Some good ol' educational videos are always appreciated.

I want to have the Ken Trinity do this just to see them complain about every single matchup and conclude that Ken is worthless.

I can't wait to get my gtx 1060 and gsync monitor. Using a Samsung LCD TV with 28ms input lag and a Intel Graphics feels horrible to play even with the game running at 60fps. It's very noticeable.

All your complaints suddenly make a lot of sense. You were playing in horrible conditions and blaming the game for it.

There's actually some weird stuff going on if you can't constantly keep up 60 fps. I think the game gets stuttery, because it has to repeat frames since everything (frame delay in the netcode, input buffer, hurt- and hitboxes etc) is based around that framerate. Could totally explain some of your problems.

Fighting games are a little different in that regard.

Fricken Dual-Shock 4. Now my L1 button is starting to get sticky, which is where I map my fierce punch (L1 and R1 are heavy punch and kick, SNES SF2 style). It still works, but every once in a while it gives more resistance than I expect and I mess up my timing. I'm not blaming it for poor performance, but it's annoying as fuck.

For some reason disabling vsync made the game more smooth, less stuttery for me, some kind of frame pacing issue made the game feel like it was rollbacking more than it actually was. Maybe other people are having similar issues.
Before my benq monitor stopped working which was a 120hz low lag monitor it felt even smoother, no tearing and no frame skips/stutter at all.

Pretty sure they've all been prone to complaining. I know at least that Brettiscool has grumbled on Twitter a few times about Ken's supposed shortcomings after getting eliminated from tournaments.

That's mostly been a Chris T and Brentt thing from what I've seen.
