So, I've heard that the PC player base is pretty poor right now, is that so? Is it bad enough that I should consider getting it on PS4 instead of PC, despite having a PC that can probably run this bad boy at maximum settings? Or should I be fine getting the PC version?

There is a lot of players, just not COD TONS of players.
There could be ALMOST COD TONS of players if everyone wasnt so scared and got it for console instead PC.

There are plenty of running routes on Complex.

I feel like that's an inherent difficulty that Respawn faces - the enjoyment of the maps is directly related with how well the player can traverse it. Learning how to traverse the maps takes time. I have a few running routes on Complex in which I never touch the ground.

Edit - I should note that this is generally how I play Titanfall. I discover routes on the map in which I never touch the ground, and continually run these routes. I know where I can escape, where enemies will show up, etc. It's my "neutral point" before I pursue someone.

I am finding matches instantly on PC EXCEPT for Pilots vs Pilots mode which I still have not been able to play. Has anyone played this mode on PC? But i'm able to find hardpoint and attriton matches right away, even at weird hours last night

Wish everyone on the fence about the PC version because of userbase would buy it to contribute to the userbase, then it wouldn't even be a question :(

Also I'm using a controller on PC and I don't feel handicapped for this. Don't really think I'd be any better with KB/M because of the movement.

Only played a few rounds of the first game, but decided to pick this up to play with my buddy. Having a surprising amount of fun, CTF and Hardpoint are my favorite modes so far -- just need to work on keeping my speed up.

EA sending this game to die is a travesty. I really hope it picks up a solid userbase over time because it's the most interesting FPS in ages. I really enjoyed the Doom campaign and this one is almost as good, despite being shorter.

Love it.

Well the reviews put it as the second highest rated FPS this year. That mixed with word of mouth can give it some legs. Plus the free dlc and as long as respawn updates in a timely manner, I'm sure sales will stay fairly consistent.

Campaign chapter spoilers for Eff
ect And Cause
follow.

HOLY SHIT THAT WAS BANANAS.

It was Half-Life 3.
It was Super Mario Galaxy 3.
It was Singularity 2.
It was the Jurassic Park FPS we wanted but never got.

The platforming puzzles were incredible. I can't fucking believe this shit. The only thing that really holds this game back, at this point, is the weak AI that doesn't really pose any challenge. Still, it was hilarious to kill guys in the past timeline and then see their rotted, aged corpses show up in the present-day timeline, right where you dropped them in the past.

The pacing of the level was really great. I loved the downtime. The audiologs were kept short enough so they didn't have you sitting there for long enough, but you still learned bits and pieces of the narrative behind the Ark test.

The way the designers spawn in prowlers or the zombie stalkers in the present day timeline -- to maintain pressure when you're in full-on combat in the past's timeline -- was masterfully done.

Lastly, the level of restraint Respawn shows, when they make the decision to retire the time travel mechanic at the end of the chapter, is phenomenal. If they were to keep this for the rest of the game, it'd wear its welcome really quickly.

I don't usually get hyped like this. I'm a level designer professionally and I have to play a lot of games as part of my job. I've seen a lot of games, some really well-done and others not as good. But I'm sitting here, playing this, constantly having to pick my jaw up off my desk. Please tell me it stays this good. I've not been this hooked and excited playing an FPS since... I don't know... BioShock 1? (Different reasons/style of game there, but I hope you get me.)

I want to use it so bad, but it doesn't seem to do anything against Titans. I don't really understand it.

Yeah me either. Charge rifle for long range, mags for short range, archer for lock on and big damage, Thunderbolt for... what? A slow non-tracking projectile that needs to be reloaded after every shot and does almost the same damage as the mags? Really?

Battlefront was supposed to be dead 3 months after release according to the haters, it's stillil rolling strong. This game will be fine... It just came out, I'm sure not every person is day 1 with it.

I hope you're right, to be honest, but Battlefront is associated with Star Wars and Titanfall 2 is associated with Titanfall...

Is there skill based matchmaking in this...? Feels like every game there's one dude who just totally stomps on everybody else, and one that seems to be playing with their feet, and they're always on opposite teams. Like, playing Bounty Hunter, the winning team usually relies on one dude who pulls down something like 2.5k points. It's nuts.

ok, how do you hit slide? unless you're doing claw like Cobalt what else would you do?

No matter how skillful you are you'll be severely hindered by the default controls.

That's what they told me when I used sticks for Splatoon. I showed them! I showed them all!

and i don't know how you all do it without an elite or scuf like controller.

PC version
Default controls and sensitivity on the Xbox 360 controller
Top 2 in every game I've played of Attrition and Bounty Hunt

Same thing during the PS4 Tech Test. It's all in the movements throughout the maps, and getting the jump on players by flanking.

But I actually about 2 months or so back inquired about the original tf on Xbox one and if it's still going and many said that yea you can still get matches. Not sure about this very second but I don't think this game is going anywhere, it probably won't hit BF or cod numbers but it'll have a base. Pc however might not sustain, but that's just a guess

Already can't find a hardpoint match during a weekday in central US, feelsbad. (PC)

Too many game modes, not enough players, just like last game. Maybe they'll figure it out for Titanfall 3.

Protip: If you can't cap a point in your titan in Amped Hardpoint it is probably time to get out of your titan. Seeing quite a few matches where the enemy team dominates early, then jump into titans only to lose the match because they forget all about capping points after titanfall.

I'll jump out on the way to a pilot-only point, leave it on guard mode and it'll give me an audio queue if an enemy approaches from that direction while I'm capping the point. Even if it gets rodeo'd/destroyed/whatever that is time they're not spending on controlling the points.

Another tip: If you're interested in leading the scoreboard you need to be one of the people amping the points instead of the person who runs off to the next point after the cap. You get the amp points and defense points for hanging around until it amps. I almost always have more defense points than everybody else because i'm always amping. That usually means an easy kill or two when somebody comes into stop the cap. Watch the HUD so you see the CONTESTED. I'll toss down an electric grenade or something to cover my back and then watch the most likely approach routes.

279 Bounty Hunt in my region on PC....St Louis data center. Depressing that by the time Final Fantasy comes out, this is going to be dead. Unless dreams do come true and we get a slow burn of new players from word of mouth.

Yep. No wonder season pass is free. Maybe it wasn't a smart move to get more people to buy, but a smart move to not fracture a player base they realized was already going to be tiny. Not going to be anyone around by the time the first new content launches. Makes me pissed at EA.

Thanks. You make it look too easy. https://youtu.be/eWAbGi8BO0Q

Any quick tips?

That grenade queue at the beginning is good but you get caught up on trying to stick to the right walls. Some people have great success with it, I have not. Work on that bit or embrace left walls.

You're looking down too much. Looking down slows you down. Work on trying to kill the AI sooner so you're looking more level.

Another thing is that you don't have to look at a wall to run on it. You can just move the stick in whatever direction you want to jump off and it'll try to throw you there. Holding the stick forward always launches you at an angle away from the wall.

I'd say switch to the EPG and SMG.

Major campaign spoilers:

I was pretty shocked that Titanfall 2 did Quantum Break better than Quantum Break did - specifically the sequence toward the end of Effect and Cause where time just completely stops. So fucking awesome.

PC player here. I'm beyond annoyed. I love the game but there's no one playing anything other than Attrition and maybe Hardpoint. Why doesn't anyone want to play CTF?

Yeah, it's definitely a struggle to find certain game types on PC. Might hop on the PS4 version during Black Friday if there's a good deal on it for like $30. What they need to do is do a free MP trial weekend for all platforms, like what Blizzard did for Overwatch - that was smart. Then after that, put out a demo from the single player to let people know you guys have an awesome single player.

You're out of luck, I'm afraid. Maybe on the weekends you'll be able to get into a CTF match. It's either Bounty Hunt or Attrition for you! (And me)

I got thumbs.

Really, the only hindrance I feel is with aiming, but that's because I'm playing on console instead of PC.

I really wish we could tune ADS sensitivity/speed as well.

Next client update, unless Things happen. =)

(Weep for me, please, because I've gotten used to it in our internal playtests lately, and had to go all weekend at home without. Play your tiny violins!)

...there's actually a LOT of gamepad options slated to go out in that update, especially for the obsessive.
