Scientist smart enough to be designated for a very important mission of finding alien life, immediately proceeds to pet an unknown organism moving in front of him with his bare hands. This turns me off immediately.

it's always the goddamn biologists too. Send these back home so they can hug a tree.

I'm not an NPC. And neither are we.

It looked like one of those glove chambers to me, where the gloves are built into where you put your hand through. Which kinda makes the whole tiny little stem thing grabbing a grown man even more silly.

Seems like it is The Thing: Space Bugaloo.

wrong movie but this looks cool too.

You can make the scientist get fucked over by the alien by some honest mistake like keeping his hands away from what seems like a plant-like life form, turning to tell a joke to his friend and all of a sudden the little alien plant life thing jumps out and attacks him.

But petting it? You should assume every fucking thing is hostile and dangerous until proven otherwise.

Anyone seen that movie Europa Report?

Kinda reminds me of that, stupid biologist and all.

I enjoyed Europa Report, so I'll probably enjoy this one. Plus Sanada is dope.

I was interested until the thing turned out to be some kind of super-powerful killer alien despite its apparent size, which stretches my suspension of disbelief beyond the breaking point.

Please stop ignoring the laws of physics in what is supposed to be a sci-fi movie. It's completely idiotic.

Look like it'll traverse stuff that's already been done several times over within space sci-fi, but depending on its execution I could still see myself being hyped to see it.

This is from the director who did Child 44 though... a film I only remember because of how unanimously awful it was deemed when it came out.

The beginning of that trailer made me come up with synopsis of a cool psychological movie.

ISS manned by six people. 3 russians and 3 americans. During their stay, war breaks out between US and Russia. That's as far as I got....

The only way to make the scene good, would be if the scientist was actually faking it/making a joke, and they just bait us by putting it in the trailer and making us think that it's how everything went wrong.

Dude. that's all you fucking NEED.

When did all the trailers started doing this shit? Hate it!

At least this thing looked harmless at the time and not a big alien snake that you wanted to baby talk.

When played before another video on youtube you only have five seconds to grab the viewer's attention. So they flash some cool stuff and big names to make people go "huh?!" and stick around for the actual trailer.

Love how the trailer shows the space station catching a satelite in outer space, and while the guy is working on catching it... another guy is saying in his ear "It's going to hit you." Like... what.

Looks fucking boring though.

Just saw this, it looks really cool.
The story doesn't seem particularly original but Gyllenhaal usually picks great scripts (yes I know, Prince of Persia...) and the visuals look great. I love how the zero gravity shots are choreographed.

Finally, something promising coming from Sony Pictures...

I don't like this new trend of a mini teaser before the trailer. Looks interesting but I'm not sure what the threat is other than a small plant. But hopefully whatever they are hiding is good.

I should not complain about the fact that we are getting so many big-budget space thrillers but I'm concerned about the "Gravity/The Martian" style dominating the genre. I miss the more out there/futuristic stuff like Alien.

Oh there's a new Alien movie coming out you say? I guess I'll just carry on then.
