Sony deal that prevents cross-play between the same platform on different stores? I don't think such a deal exists.
Aren't all the COD games on Steam post COD4 entirely reliant on Steamworks? Why were people doubting that the Win10 Store version was separated?
Ball is in your court Valve :-o
I feel sorry for all five users that buy the Windows Store version. Truly.

People with powerful PCs with a thirst for Xbox single player Achievements?
Ball is in your court Valve :-o
Because steamworks - Xbox live crossplay is a thing that exists.
Oh it's right, all right.Wait...Do you mean to tell me that if you're on Win10 you can only match-make with others who have it on win10? That can't be right.
Something that needs time/money, it's not a button click.
The source is a dude on a train? What is this thread.
Because it is. It's not gonna use Steamworks for the UWP version. The Steam version (like the others) will. The communities will be separated.
Duh
It's confirmed by a City boy on the Midnight train

His dad works at GameStop, bruhhh!

WELL DEY DON'T GOSH DURNIT.
what the fuck is this thread lol
Lol I want to start threads based off conversations with randoms I met on the train too.
We true journalism now.
Did his dad work for Nintendo too?! Like seriously, this is Neogaf, not Gamefaqs dawg.
Oh it's right, all right.
Yeah I hear both Microsoft and Activision are having difficulty making ends meet
anybody still supporting that attempt to capitalize and control the PC gaming market that is the Windows Gaming Store and their whole UWP bullshit need to wake up and realize how messed up it is to keep on supporting that atrocity.
You think either company is going to randomly spend money that isn't going to even attempt to make a return on investment?
I'd have to guess they don't play on PC or don't know about steamworks.
First page looks so good now. All these guys jumping to conclusion while OP was right. Epic, great job OP

I didn't think I needed it, but Some names and identifying details have been changed to protect the privacy of individuals.I mean, whatever, if my only source was "I heard it from a guy on a train" I'd be skeptical too.
It's probably in Microsoft's best interest to not make their Win10 Store look like a complete joke on a high profile release.
Anyone who buys this game is going to get fucked hard and most likely never buy from that store again.
Jeez, talk about taking the money and running. I was holding off judgement thinking there's no way this could slip through the pipeline, but there it is. How could either company be so dense to let this happen? I get there are complications if it uses Steamworks (be them technical or egotistical - but at this point, just don't do it - even Ubisoft, painful as it can be with UPlay, doesn't divide up the playerbase when you're in game. If this stuff isn't plastered across the Windows Store page, there is going to be well deserved backlash. It's the exact type of thing that should be unfounded conspiratorials, not something you actively have to look out for when purchasing a game.

So yeah, Microsoft fucked up in THAT part. But maybe the marketing partnership with Sony blocks that?
