Please stop laughing. This isn't funny. This isn't for the lols or what the fuck ever. This is serious.

Like fourteen thousand fucking people wrote in fucking harambe as fixing president.

This country is profoundly sick. Way sicker than I thought.

Don't fucking laugh.
I wasn't.

I understand why he won. How a silent majority simply cared about removing the establishment regardless of the cost. That being said i'm finding it quite difficult to want to still be an American. I'm mad at the people who made this happen. I don't like to be an individual that can say, "Yes my country supports racism, sexism, and xenophobia".

I want these voters to realize they made a mistake, but i'm conflicted if they should all suffer for it. I could certainly vote with my brain as a prospective engineer and leave the country, but I know some of these people were just frustrated. I genuinely don't know what to do. I don't feel that the people who truly felt that the establishment had harmed them failed democratically. However, at the same time there is a clear truth that racism and all of the related vices played just as large if not a larger role in this outcome.

It's 2:20 am and I'm in bed fucking heart broken right now. I'm ashamed of my country. Ashamed of the news media who didn't do their fucking job and report facts rather than create two sided bickering on television for the past 2 years. I'm ashamed in the DNC for ignoring a core demographic and for shaming Bernie. I'm just really embarrassed as an American.

That's the truth of it, and it's a trend that's started in Europe and is spreading incredibly effectively around the world. It's now pretty clear that Brexit and this election are just the first big upsets, and not fluke events. As depressing as 2016 has been, I'm incredibly curious to see future analysis that looks at how this undercurrent of racism, isolationism, and the abandonment of science and logic picked up so much steam without anyone noticing.

We all assumed this was a minority opinion. Clearly it's a majority opinion across the entire western world, and we should be concerned about which country is next.

Can you imagine if Merkel loses and Le Pen wins in France next year. Terrifying.

How can you expect people to stay optimistic if Trump got elected and the Brexit happened? It's all possible. And I can actually say this without sounding like a conspiracy nut, since the proof is there.

He quoted a guy who was saying were heading to World War III and were going to have another Great Depression. While you dont have to be optimistic about Trump, at least be realistic.

Personally I don't support either Trump or Clinton. Regardless of what party ended up winning the white house tonight I am not a fan of the idea of that same party also holding majority control over the house of representatives and the senate. Too much power for one party. Regardless of if it had been DFL or GOP.

Congratulations to President Trump and Vice-president Pence, their families and their supporters.
Congratulations for making the democracy work and showing that people's votes and decisions matter.
Congratulations for a beautiful victory speech and best of luck in the next 4 or 8 years in office.

In the end, the only person who cannot be congratulated is Hillary Clinton, who finished her candidacy with no class, no honor and as a huge sore loser.
There's nothing congratulate about this.

Is this real?

If so, wow, America you've got the President you deserve.

Because there's an unbelievably big chasm between those two things and "the end of the world" or the sky falling or whatever other great hyperbolic situation conjured up that only serves to drive home fear.

I can't believe we elected that man. It's truly depressing that all the sexist, racist assholes out there won this.

I'm fucking terrified. I can't sleep. I'm scared I'm going to loose my insurance, I'm scared of ww3, Russia running shit, another Great Depression hell im even scared of nuclear warfare...fuck.. America are you this fucking dumb!!!??

I'm 90% sure those last 4 aren't going to happen.

Just been sitting here stunned in disbelief right now.

A snake oil salesman with no experience in government swindled his way into the presidency simply by appealing to the lowest common denominators.

He actually did it. The absolute madman.

Goddammit GAF :(

For the last two years if I expressed worries and asked "what if Donald Trump gets elected" I always got at least 3 replies saying: "He can't get elected, the white male vote isn't enough and that is the only thing he gets"

And now I wake up to this shit ;____;

After just completing Dark Money, the fate of this federal government will be Kansas 2.0. The GOP will control everything, at minimum, for two years, likely longer.

There was no scenario where the Dems would get both the house and the Senate.

From Hungary here. Our prime minister was one of the few Trump supporters.... now he can continue with his plans to get closer to Russia while distancing away from the EU. The US was literally my last hope for removing this pos from our country.

This is a truly sad day for me...:(
