From the Duke's balcony on the top floor, traversing the round shaped roof into the open window at the left above the vault entrance. I was never insta killed there and the one robot doesn't spot you if you come from the window.

I have been killed going through the roof or windows every time there..must be doing something wrong?

This game is so damn good. The clockwork mansion is genius!

Is there any issues on the pro for 1080p users? Or does it run better?

I've been on media blackout so may of missed it, but has there been any mention of story dlc down the road?

Nothing mentioned yet. Only thing Harvey has mentioned is that they are interested in fans wanting New Game + and mission selection. Also working on patching the PC version.

I want Pandyssia DLC.

Some levels in more natural / wild settings would be awesome. Haven't finished Dishonored 2 though, so maybe that kind of thing is in the game? Please no one spoil me either way, though.

Level 3 completed withour powers, without mission objectives and and hints...5 hours took me to complete the level.

It reminded me to the Thief series, instead of a "go to point A to point B", it's an entire manssion to explore, with an excellent design...kudos for Arkane, explored every corner of it even without powers.

Collected every colletible of the level but one bonecharm

the last one over the roof of the institute

It was impossible to get withour Blink...but, it's a bonecharm, collecting them doesn't count as an achievement, and they are useless without powers.

If you're a Thief fan, play this game without powers...it's an excellent stealth ride at the moment.

Even though I finished yesterday and am now playing Watch Dogs this got me in the mood to try Thief again. So I went through the first level for what must be the 10th time - I don't think I've ever gotten past the 3rd chapter.

May be unnecessary, but there's a power station on the corner behind where they're torturing some poor soul on a bullseye. Easy to disable. Then walk on the roof toward the vault. Perch on the wall pillar closest to the door. Wait for the robot to walk away - or take it down, shoot the head off - Blink as far into the room as you can aim. Disable power, open safe.

Well I'm done and I feel somewhat empty.

Ending was lackluster, epilogue was ehhh.

This was for a high chaos Emily play through. Gonna try low chaos with Corvo.

That said, this really could have used a Lady Boyle like mission.

Crack in the Slab is the highlight for me.

There's also
a door inside the palace. You have to get the key off the Baron first, but that is easy. I don't even know how I found out about that. I think it was either from a note I picked up or a conversation/audiograph I overheard. The marker was on my hud.

I finished the first mission so far, escaped Dunwall, never spotted, no kills. I was so proud of myself when I figured out you could
get on the tram and ride it. past all the guards. Felt like a pro.
. I still went back and investigated all the buildings though. Highlight of the mission for me though.

Are the portals to different times still in the game that were shown at E3? Are they a power or part of the story?

Just got to the Dust Mine area, how much more do I have to go?

was kinda close to the Boyle mission;
lots of civilian NPCs, party/fancy house setting, a fake target, similar non-lethal outcome (edit: ok not really, Boyle mission still has the most fucked up non-lethal outcome in both games), etc.
It is missing the big thing though, you can't just walk around and mingle with the guests.

What did you think of the last level of the Dishonored 1 DLC? The first part of that level had a natural/wild setting. I thought it was a weak point of the DLC personally. Too little verticality, too difficult to search for loot and an unsatisfying sneaking experience with all the open spaces.

Haha, yeah, I also connected the dots to the train but was hoping for some sort of secret area. :(

Same took that path with Emily.

Whattt I thought you 100% needed the key to get in there, neat.

I saw this cool detail on Reddit: If you're playing Corvo, you can Windblast windmills to overcharge the wall of light they're connected to, which increase their zapping range.

WHAAAAAAAAT

If anyone's just starting turn off the objective markers. I did this for the first game too and it really improves the experience IMO as you have more incentive to explore and not just beeline to a waypoint.

I'm also going to go out on a limb and suggest not using/buying Dark Vision for a first playthrough. After mission

I realized not only do I not need that crutch to properly loot everything (managed to get all paintings and blueprints just fine to my surprise) or get a good read on enemy placement and patrol patterns, I think it hampers the pacing of exploration along with making it less surprising and rewarding. It also tends to kinda tank performance on PC when used too, so there's that.

If you're serious about a ghost run though for your first time (don't) then you pretty much have to get it.

WHAAAAAAAAT

Spoilers in case you want to figure out for yourself:
After you escape from Dunwall Tower and climb down to street-level, if you go to right (when facing the objective) past the guard station you can see where the tram emerges. There's some pipes you can jump up to get onto the tram platform. Then you just wait for it to appear (every minute or so), hop on top of it, and ride it until you hit an arch that you have to jump onto.

Theoretically you could ride it pretty much all the way to the objective but it's an easy way to get past the guards and then you have great access to the Dunwall Courier and Boyle Industries if you like to explore.

So I decided to just stop caring about the performance and just play the game.

Man, it's fantastic. I spent like 30 minutes exploring the boat, and I've been running around the dock area for over two hours now. Turned off mission markers, but I left pretty much everything else on. Seems like a nice middle ground. The apartment complex with the bloat flies was super tense, scrounging around for bottles of flammable liquid to take out the nests. They really incentivized exploration in these levels.

I'm considering dropping some settings from Ultra to High, except textures. Any tips on what I should go for?

HBAO+, draw distance, and shadow quality are the heavy hitters.

Quick mission 4 question:

Am I supposed to do something with/for Paolo, boss of the Powder gang? I went into the black market and the lady told me to hide so I did. He comes in, talks shit to the lady and leaves. Lady acts as if nothing happened [which was kinda weird]. Then I find him and his cronies in the alley behind the store, I walk up to him and he tells me to get lost and attacks me if I wait.

With Dishonored 1's Slackjaw in mind, surely there's more to this than just having him talk shit to me.

Yep.

If you get stumped you can always just turn them on for a minute. Another option is to leave them on in options but just hide them in the mission tab. Only annoying thing here is they will unhide whenever it's updated or a new objective is started.

I'm wondering if they will do another Daud DLC. He's the only character from the original game who didn't get any closure to his story.

Forgot!!! I'm on midway through my second play through now with Corvo.
Didn't mention, dropped down through elevator shaft and had already taken down the Duke and snatched the keys.

I'm about to ask a really dumb question.

I'm in mission 7 and my mana won't regenerate. I don't have any bonecharms that seem to be causing this effect. I feel so dumb...

Wasn't 100% crazy about it, but it wasn't awful. Could definitely see them conceiving something more vertical though - jungle with cliffs, rope bridges, and interconnected structures overhanging it or something like that.

Do you mean A Crack In the Slab? You're not supposed to use your powers since the mansion is in ruins by an occult event, forcing you to use the time travel device

There's no non lethal solution to The Crown Killer is there?

I tried to subdue them but it didn't work. I wondered if a sleep dart would work but I think their death needs to be implemented, correct?

There is. Go to Recuperation and look for the guy who looks like Snake from the beginning of Phantom Pain.

Damn, it's too late.

I'm already headed towards Chapter 5...

Well there's always another playthrough.

We really need chapter select though.

I'm still at low chaos but now I feel bad I could have saved them.
