All these leaks are killing my hype for the January event.
Nope. We know part of the launch line-up and Mario Kart, Zelda and Pokemon. Still plenty of months to cover only for the first year.
Trailers.
I think we're getting a decent overview over (1st party) launch titles now but first year should still hold some unknowns. Retro Studios I guess is the big one people have no clue about. Then there's Pikmin.
Obviously getting to know the system better will be another main draw for the event.

Yup, and we don't even know what kind of multiplats are coming at launch (besides Skyrim and NBA 2K).
They have plenty more to surprise us with, I'm just kinda hoping now there isn't too much more for the first year because I'm already looking at ~$600 in games...

Liam says that he's not concerned with the battery life and that the 3 hours was from test units, not final ones.
I have to agree him on this, dev kits/test kits are not the same thing as the final ones and battery life would be one the things that would likely change from test to final.
I mean, it's not that hard to put a better battery inside the Switch. Of course there's some limit in how big it can be, but as smart phones show, similar sized and specced phones can have different sized batteries.

Yea i'm pretty sure Nintendo still has some stuff in store. In fact they're still hold back info about the system, and there's still some third party collabs that we don't know about. So i'm hopeful they have content left for the event.

Well there's the MyNintendo platinum points you get from missions in Miitomo. Assuming Nintendo continues that with all Switch games then there's the achievement system.
Tbf, im just excited to see more about these leaks, regardless of there being any other new content.

Yeah the Pokemon leak sort of reconfirms that the Switch will be replacing the 3DS as well as the Wii U, as some people still didn't believe that. Even though that has been the entire stated reason for the NX's existence for several years but not everyone follows all of that.
So now that we know for sure this will get typical handheld games (in HD no less!) and typical console games, I'm much more excited to see the pure volume of software they have planned for the first few years of the Switch.

Regardless if we know the games we haven't seen them in action at all. I'm hyped as hell for the presentation in January. We don't know Retros game or Monolith Softs game. Also, here's the updated list of possible first party games coming in the first year!

I'll sign on with some other people and agree that this does take the "surprise" out of the reveal event a bit. That being said, knowing about these games won't compare at all to finally seeing them in action. Trailers and gameplay demos alone will still blow me away at the Switch reveal. Add in a ton of details about the OS and I'll still be as hyped as if we knew nothing.
I know! I wanted to get a Scorpio and a 4K TV next year... Now it's looking like I might be skipping out on at least one of those to get as many Switch games as I possibly can.

It's not, they've got credible sources, so it's as close to confirmation as we get.

I'm a little wary about Liam's report about it being a strategy RPG, as I'm not the biggest fan of those, but I do like having another type of Mario RPG out there. Paper Mario hardly even qualifies (for better or worse) and I don't know if we'll be seeing another M&L game soon.
Hopefully this is more like Super Mario RPG than either of those, but I'm kinda doubtful.

I'll be incredibly surprised if the majority of Switch games fall under one price tag. I'm willing to bet we'll see a healthy mix of both $60 and $40 titles at retail.

Still hyped for the system though, and having a new mario and zelda in the first year is nuts. Between the switch and a trip New Orleans a month after launch i'm going to be hurting. So i'll use black friday and cyber monday to snag some deals on high capacity sd cards, and probably pick up the premium bundle ( if the rumor is true) so i can have game to play. Damn next year is going to be crazy.
I hope that true but to be honest, I expect that we'll get more $60 first party games since devs aren't developing a "lesser" version of a game like Smash 3ds.

Yeah, that kind of hurt me a little. I'm not a big fan of SRPG's. I like regular turnbases RPGS like Pokémon and Persona.
They should vary. Nintendos been doing varied prices with the Wii U. DKCTF was $50 for example.
I'm getting even more pumped for the January event myself. I'm sure they have a surprise or two in the end and even if they don't:

- Mario RPG trailer, gameplay

I certainly think we might see "more" $60 games, but I'm not sure I would consider a $40 title "lesser". I forgot who said it, but I remember a quote from someone at Nintendo about how they want to pump out their output of "smaller" games. Games like Captain Toad won't command a $60 price tag.
That's not what I meant by lesser. Take non-indie PS4/Vita games for example. Even though they generally have the same content, the PS4 version is almost always priced higher. Bar a few exceptions, devs generally don't price handheld games above $40. Now that there's no "Oh, that's clearly a handheld game and I'm not gonna pay more than $40 for it" stigma attached to the Switch, or at least I assume so, devs won't be afraid to charge $60.

I think if the rumors are true than it will be but they also need to come out swinging because of how lacklusters the Wii-U has been. I am looking forward to the january announcements.
I'm still confident on Luigis Mansion 3 and Eternal Darkness 2 made by FromSoftware.

Like I said if Nintendo can't make the games then let some western third party devs do it. I expect Metroid and F-Zero should be doing the same.

The leaks are actually increasing my hype! Can't wait to see everything in motion on the actually hardware. Still hoping for some surprises like Pikmin 4, Retro's and Monolith's next games.

You can even include indie devs like the Shovel Knight guys making 2D Metroid or somebody else. I feel like this has really opened the door to so many possibility we would've never imagined lol.

This Rabbids Mario rumour has me strangely excited and interested.
It still seems insanely batty that we are likely not getting a D-Pad capable controller out of the box. That's the only real misstep I'm seeing with the Switch.
Those buttons look really insufficient for proper non-analogue directional control of 2D games. I'm hoping that they include another JoyCon in the box that has a real D-Pad because those buttons seem so limiting.
The D-Pad is arguably the biggest and most important innovation in Nintendo's history. It's an iconic part of their legacy. I just can't fathom their decision to go without it in the default package.

They HAVE to do this... with all their games. Switch, mobile, etc.
I think the best solution would be to have all pro controller buttons including dpad on the joycon when it attaches to the separate scaffold thing.

hoping that's all of the ports/remasters/whatever you want to call them and they announce two brand new games
4 remasters of games we've played and 4 brand new experiences sounds like a nice year for first party software
