Speaking of scores, how did 13 beat 13-2...
XIII is 6/10 for me.
I watched a walkthrough of XIII2 and it manages to look even more underwhelming and worse.
Huh, I didn't expect these reactions. The rules in the OP suggest using spoiler tags generously for a reason. This is supposed to be a spoiler-free zone...
I figured the stuff above would definitely be the kinds of things that not everyone would want to know or see, thus a simple spoiler tag would go a long way.

Not difficult... and those who want to see can choose to because they know the context of the spoiler and can decide if it is something they want to see or not.
Telling me you beat a game at lvl 20, or 40, or 60 goes a long way to let me get a sense of when it may be over while progressing through. Some I may, or may NOT, want to know.

I don't know, the patch notes are more vague than what I tell you though, so it's up to you or someone else who already played to tell me if it's the same thing...

I don't consider any of those spoilers though. Thats why 'spoiler free' environments are inherently flawed, there's no strict definition for what constitutes a spoiler
Anyone who considers themselves sensitive to information about this game should not be in any thread for it.

Was in Gamestop for the sales, and naturally the workers kept asking me things like every five minutes which is what they do at Gamestop, and it eventually led to one of them telling me it wasn't too late to preorder FFXV, that they were in the back and had more open for preorders.

Maybe it's a good thing to go in with lesser expectations. From what I've read, I'll absolutely have some problems but it doesn't sound bad. It'll just depend on how the story plays out for me and how I'll feel about certain other things I've peeked at.
I'm pretty sure it'll be better than XIII, but truth be told, when it comes to Final Fantasy I guess I'm easier to please depending on various factors. I really loved XIII-2 and Lightning Returns, for example, despite their issues. VIII is top-tier for me, as is XII, and I'm seeing similar complaints between XII and XV especially when it comes to the story.
XV so far sounds like another flawed but good installment.

I doubt it will disappoint me much personally just, because I have next to no expectations.

13's story wasn't much to write home about, but the sequel got considerably worse in both story and character for me. LR was even worse again. I didn't love the copy/paste corridor hell from the first game, but it was gorgeous. The sequels had bigger levels, but they weren't quite as exciting visually, and still felt repetitive. Dat LR's combat, tho.
Wow that's quite different from most impressions, is there a particular reason for this?

He does! I got a really touching scene with him and Noctis yesterday. I can also say those dialogue tress DO lead to different outcomes in some situations. The really touching scene was because of my choices I saw it play out differently in the voice actor video they released.
Lol, "only" an 8. People's expectations for this game are UNREAL. After 10 years of development hell, an 8 is about the best-case scenario.
I haven't finished the game (on chapter 12) but since chapter 9 everything just keeps getting worse. The game wasn't made linear for a clearer focus on story (no story anyway) but cause it's obvious they ran out of time and money. It's embarrassingly bad. The game really needs to pick up in these next 4 chapters.

Shit the boss music is really damn good. Of all the boss tracks I've heard, I hadn't actually heard the "standard" boss track.
I'd recommend watching Brootherhood over Kingsglaive.

Perhaps this is me trying to make myself feel better but I'm thinking about all my favorite games and there isn't a single one that doesn't have at least a couple parts that I absolutely dread. This applies to every FF as well.
