Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator will be released for PC on December 14

Store page: *Cross-platform to PS3/4 is not supported.

It's DOA, then. Fighting games on PC without cross-play don't last long.
It will be like Xrd Sign, KoF 13, Dead or Alive Last Round and others: the online is a wasteland.

From the link:

"What's included in the deluxe edition?"

"All DLCs - Kum/Raven/Dizzy, All system voices, all character DLC colors, Elphelt's alt costume."

Hmm a little too pricey for me, was hoping it'd be cheaper D;
Decisions, Decisions.

Wow they are getting loads better at releasing on PC, but they really need to put in cross play. I may pick it up as it looks gorgeous, but I barely touched Xrd Sign last year. Depends on how bad the £ conversion is I guess

Yeah might buy this down the line especially if it doesn't get a release on the Switch. But yeah for me it's definitely to pricey and might as well just wait for the sequel, unless it doesn't get released until 2018.

For me, it's too expensive at that price - especially after the delay, the recent PS4 discounts, the jump in price from the last Steam GG and BB releases and also whatever impending sequels are on the way.

But there's an interesting argument from the dev, Shinji, regarding the release model brewing but I'm probably gonna take a wait and see approach:

Interesting keyword I've picked up here though. "Soon-to-be-outdated"?
Can I know who told you that?
It didn't, actually. And we're changing it. I can't reveal too much details, but I can safely say those assumptions are all false.

We're putting more updates to Steam version specifically, even.
BUT, no content update that would put console players at disparity. (i.e. no new characters/stages/modes. You can rule that one out.)
It's being spearheaded by the very same man who designed the tutorials and mission mode for Xrd Revelator.
For the record, there isn't a "Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- EXTEND", was there?

Considering it's a staggered release, and people on PS+ were able to bag it for £10 last week, that's pretty steep even with the launch / complete the bundle discounts.

Motherfucker! I just bought this 2 days ago!!

I'll probably double dip anyway so I can play it when kids are using ps4.

The release model is the only bad thing I can find about Arcsys games, if they fix it they would become pretty much perfect for me.

Awesome. It really needs cross play though. I'll probably pick it up eventually to play it with a friend, but the online will probably be dead by then..

For people saying online will be dead, you can still find matches for Sign on Steam...

There are Reddit and Discord channels dedicated to matchmaking for these games. They aren't like shooters where getting anonymously queued is the only way to find games.

Almost pulled the trigger on this last weekend, glad I waited. But disappointed about the dlc. Wasn't it free at some point for ps4?

Pricing feels high, considering the wait. I guess they know that they're targeting mostly a niche market that consists of people who will buy it regardless. Business-wise that makes sense, of course, but it still feels shitty to now have to pay full price for an updated version which has been on other systems for over half a year.

It basically is.

For an extra 15 bucks you get content that would collectively cost you 37 dollars at any point in the game's release on PSN, + all characters.(Which would run you about 18-19 dollars collectively themselves if you missed all the free periods)

I know not everyone cares about having all the voices and colors, but as someone who paid the 17 bucks just to have all the colors on console for local play, I think the value is decent here.

The game has been full price this entire time though on console. The deep discount during the black friday sale is a huge exception.

The problem is that ArcSys has been doing this for the last 20 years. Their leadership could disavow any further forced disk updates to BB and GG (and Mori has publicly gone on record saying there will be no BBCFEX) and nobody will believe them. I sure as hell don't. The perception is so fucked that they would have to support the current releases for years before they would start turning things around. That last point is also awful: I think a lot of people (including myself) effectively see Xrd:R as being the same thing as Xrd:Sign Extend. It's a little bit better of a value proposition than BB's Extend releases are, but not by much.

Another problem with them going to a longer-tail release pattern is that their online functionality stinks, and it's gotten to the point where they have some of the worst online play of any serious competitive fighter (in a genre not known for playing very well online). Kind of hard to want to play a game every day (and drop cash for DLC on it) when the game just doesn't work right against most opponents. It's not a massive problem now, but if they really do want to go longer support timelines and more DLC items it's going to be a problem.

I don't even want to come across as talking bad about Shini, as I think he's managed to get a lot done with what seems like very little resources and they've gone from 0 to most of their FG releases on Steam in a couple of years. It's just that there's still a long way to go. :\

Damn I need to finish watching the story stuff for Sign. Lol.

Does anyone know if the story in Revelator is complete yet? Last I heard they were going to patch the second half of the story into the game at a later date or something?
They did that a long ass time ago on ps4.

Just hope matchmaking is not tied again to Steam Download region, because we will need to be in same region option to be matched again

Full price? Man fuck that I cant support these archaic fighting game buisness practices.

last time it started as 15~20 USD purchase with 20% discount on release and DLC included for free in the first 15~30 days, I expect them to do it again for Revelator

About time. I mean, I'll probably go PS4 since my PC is crap, but I'm glad more people can enjoy Revelator.

Price is a bit steep, though, but oh well.

Btw is GG AC+ R available on PS4 with online play?

On Steam I wish I hadnt bought the original. It prevented me from fully enjoying Xrd.

I fear online on PC will be even worse than PSN, so I'll wait for a discount

So... Is this expected to be the last version or what? I'm tired of incremental fighting game upgrades now that most have turned to services.

Not sure about Guilty Gear but the story seems to be wrapping up for it since things happen in Revelator that have been hinted/hyped up for years now.

According to ASW, Blazblue is now over as of Centralfiction. The story wrapped up rather conclusively, and the director is moving on to a new series that apparently isn't related to fighting games. Time is to tell if the series is really over or not.

So, is this gonna have the DLC colors and characters like -Sign-? Because that's what made me buy on Day One.

Iirc xrd sign is well optimiEd to run on older systems

It's UE3. So if he can run UE3 titles, it'll run just fine.

I hope they give PC players a deal for all the DLC. You know, like the one all day one PS4 players got, for free. And they're removing lobbies again! Why?!

Not really, Ps4 buyers got new dlc characters for free when they were first released. (I know they did this for dizzy because I "bought" it when I was afraid the game wasn't coming to pc. Why can't this happen for pc buyers... Especially since we're paying the same amount the ps4 players paid half a year ago?
