Getting them all day 1 full price, thank you Sony/Sega. What a time to be alive.
Thanks. I also still have my PS3, so I could play 4 as well since that's also a good starting point if that OP is correct.

4 -> 5 -> 0 -> Kiwami -> 6 would be amazing if you can pull it off. 4 is the best entry point into the series if you're not starting straight up from the beginning. 0 is the second best.
Yes, Y4 is a great starting point.
playing 5 without having played 4 is a terrible idea thoYakuza games are closed stories so no need to be pedantic about playing every single one in chronological order, you can start with 0, go to Kiwami and jump straight to 6 without being left in the dark.
Though it wouldn't hurt watching summaries on YT from other games, especially from Y2 because it was epic.

You could also start with 3, or import the HDremkaes of 1&2 if you know Japanese (or track down the PS2 originals and emulate them).Thanks. I also still have my PS3, so I could play 4 as well since that's also a good starting point if that OP is correct.
Oh YES!
I've never played a Yakuza game before, but I'm starting next with your Yakuza 0 and now Kiwami (remake of 1). I'll be missing out on 2/3/4/5, though, so I'll probably need to find some way to play them before I start 6.
I really wish they'd put all of the games up on PSN so I can download them on my PS4. My PS2/PS3 are no longer connected to my TV. Not only that, I have a 60GB PS3, so I don't really have the space to even install Yakuza 5 (digital-only). I do own Yakuza 4 already, but I never got around to playing it since I wanted to play the first three before I did but never got around to it, It's nice that they're releasing/remaking Yakuza 1, so I guess that's a start.
Yeah, I've been tempted to do it, but the system itself is find of failing (flickers every once in a while while playing) so I'm not sure how much life it has left in it. If it ever does die completely, I'll be grabbing a PS3 slim to replace it (with a larger default HDD), so if I upgraded the HDD in my current PS3 now it has the potential to be wasted (although I could always use the HDD in something else, I guess).Upgrading the PS3's HDD is trivial, if you need any guidance just let us know.
The only downside to this is the fact that there are like a billion good starting points and people get confused. I really hope Yakuza 6 has a reminiscence mode. That'll simplify everything.
Also, I really hope there aren't any delays for Kiwami and 6. They're all timed so perfectly.
Not surprising, but yay
Can't imagine a delay happening like it did with 5, almost SEGA project at the time was delayed because of the relocation from San Fran to LA. Zero is taking time because they're making new translated assets aside from just sticking subtitles.
Oh ok. I was unaware of that. Makes sense.
I'm happy with early 2018. They've nicely spaced apart each title and gives me time to finish other big games like FFXV and Persona 5.
But Y0 is an amazing game...With 6 coming west I don't feel bad about not buying 0 right away.
I'll get it eventually, I'm just honestly not interested or hyped to play as Kiryu and Majima in the 80s. 6 and it's new locale as well as being PS4 exclusive has me more interested. But Y0 is an amazing game...
