These violent delights have violent ends.

Hopefully we'll all get that deeper game we've been looking for.

etc, etc.

Is this good? I've heard nothing but highly mixed opinions on Westworld from those I know watching. Won't be able to see it for myself for awhile.

With Bruce not being involved in this, I'm more interested in the people taking up the Lead Game Designer and Game Director roles. Story was never a concern with ND as they have been the best in the industry since last gen.

Wow, hyped indeed. Very excited to play this one.

Has there been any ballpark of when it's being released?
Since pre production seemingly started back in 2014, I would say September 2018 at the earliest would be a good bet.

This is really cool. Westworld is fantastic, I just hope they stick with a straight forward story for TLOU2. The genius of the first game was how the story was told.

I started out enjoying Westworld but have liked it less and less as it's progressed. But I have a lot of faith in Druckmann.

This. I'm not hype about the Westworld name tagged in, but with Druckmann's direction I'm less concerned.

Whilst I'm largely enjoying watching it, the writing in Westworld tends to be pretty awful. Hard to judge a writer by their contributions to a show of that class, though, as I'm sure there's plenty of "filters" between each writer and the final product.

My dream jobs: writing a Star Wars movie and writing for Naughty Dog. As far as I'm concerned these are K2 and Everest.

Can you post the link saying pre production started in 2014. If that's true then I'll be cautiously optimistic for a 2018 release. Uncharted 4 had some development trouble in the beginning with the whole Amy Henning thing, having to scrap the story and I think some mocap work they did. So I expect Naughty Dogs turn around to be quicker here.

It's said during their panel yesterday. IIRC, the scene we saw in the trailer was shot a year and a half ago.

Westworld is mediocre as shit. Uh oh.

i wouldnt say uh oh, but i agree. theres some fun stuff, but theres alot of boring parts and i really dont see them tying it together into anything meaningful/ satisfying. you have to pretend too much to care about anything with the rules of the world being so muddy.

Westworld is well written but overly long and drags on for long stretches without its twists. It reminded me of Luke Cage and in a bad way, but its a very good show when it wants to be. I think Gross and Druckmann can work well together and bounce ideas off of each other very well for Part II.

I'm more concerned about game design however, with Straley gone. Wonder who is stepping in there.

Best wishes.

Oh she wrote the Westworld episode where (major season spoilers)
it was revealed the Bernard was a host, aka the episode that took what could have been a weak twist and made it one hell of a gripping heartbreaking moment and gave us a fantastically menacing Hopkins scene

So she'll do just fine with Last of Us

I don't have the link, but just as FarFromAnyGame said, a lot was revealed at the panel. Apparently the teaser we got was shot one and a half years ago. Also, I'm not sure what the source is or if it's right, but TLOU2 was already pitched after Left Behind was released

Possibly one of the best episodes of any TV show ever made, and my highlight of the season.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think TV writers write individual episodes. They write them as a group and then credit is distributed throughout the season.
