Is this thread good for begging for a definitive* Skies of Arcadia port on PC? Because I REALLY REALLY REALLY want that.

Not until Nintendo goes third-party.

Just like Lego City Undercover. Not going happen. Nintendo helped with development, blah, blah, blah...

Anything can happen in this business.

I'm excited to see what Sega announces though. Bayonetta would be sweet, but I'm not holding my breath for it. I've got a strong feeling Skies of Arcadia will though.

I admit I have poor knowledge on how copyright works (or what Nintendo had to do with LCU), however with Bayonetta 2 there are parts of the game they own. In Smash 4 Wii U if you check the Bayo1 music it reads "Original Composition: Copyright Sega", but if you check a Bayo2 music it reads "Original Composition: Copyright Nintendo" instead.

Iwata is credited as Executive Producer on LCU.

After all of this time one of the announcements has to be something Big like a Platinum game or Yakuzua, right?

... right?

More Sonic it is.

But Nintendo doesn't own the Lego brand, just as they don't own the Bayonetta brand.

Similarly, it's unlikely they own the models from LCU (they are lego shaped, they must be from WB), or the music, but they definitely own the music from B2 (maybe even more).

I would like to say I'm not arguing against a B2 PC port, Ninja Gaiden 2 was 360 exclusive yet NGS2 was not, a "Bayonetta 2 Sigma" could exist without problems, and not just on PC either (hell, I would love it to play it on PC with better framerate and resolution) but I don't think the comparison to LCU is fair since the brands are too different.
We don't currently know if the LCU remaster has been changed in some ways either, nor what type of changes would have to be made to B2 in a potential non-nintendo remaster.

Ninja Gaiden 2's development wasn't funded by Microsoft. Sure, Platinum could release some updated version of Bayonetta 2 with an updated name not on a Nintendo system. It would just mean they've burnt a bridge with a first-party publisher.

I feel like that Yakuza series is the perfect series they can put out on Steam, what's with the Asian setting.

If a bridge was burned every time a supposed exclusive went to other hardware, we'd have no bridges left.

Vanquish better be one of them.

Also, it could be an announcement for a Valkyria: Azure Revolution port to go with a localization on PS4. The timing is right for that, since it comes out January 17 (IIRC), 2017.

Alright gents, I won. Pass me the pot. It's Early 2017 instead of late 2016.

Yup, that'd be a very Sega thing of Sega to hold off on announcing Azure Revolution's localization until January instead of at the prime opportunity that was PSX.

If the only hold up was the music, they could feasibly replace any affected tracks.

But you are right that there's too much we don't know about the contract from the Wii U release to know if it's possible.

I guess we can say with reasonable certainty that the first game at least could hit PC.

I'd be down for a Persona or Yakuza collection on PC.

Other than that, there isn't much else they could announce that would get me excited; really don't care for Vanquish or Bayonetta

Either way, preserve a game that wasn't preserved previously. Huge positive no matter the outcome.

Yea some people are easily excited. Everytime I see this bumped I hope Bayo or Vanquish is coming to PC, only to click this thread and be disappointed. Never say never but honestly I feel like this shit is never happening.

Not everyone might be aware that Sega is in the process of announcing new titles. Letting people know Sega's shorterm plans for the new year seems pertinent.

I predict that the announcements will be for Persona, Valkyria: AR, Virtua Fighter 5, and Vanquish. I'm so sure that these titles will release in 2017 on PC that I'd wager a 3 month ban on myself.
