Final Fantasy XV |OT2| For Jared!

Is it possible to be under leveled in this game? I decided to skip most of the side quests as they were hampering my enjoyment of the game. I just got to chapter 4 and I'm level 23. I kind of like just doing the main story but if it is going to make things frustrating later on then I need to know now so I can grind a little here and there.

You need to be on level 40-45 to beat the game
Just keep playing and you be fine, you can skip the side quests if you want

There was an official Yusuke Naora artwork for the game featuring all the characters. I loved it and thought to make avatars out of it. Here are them. Feel free to use the one you desire.

Gonna take Prompto. Thanks a lot! Beautiful art of the cast.

Back into the game after a break while trying to find the time to watch Kingsglaive and Brotherhood with my GF and brother (at chapter four). The story makes a bit more sense now, but I have such a greater appreciation for the three bros that I entirely wish that character building had been in the game.

I'm not sure what the point of it is honestly. At that point, you're already probably fast travelling everywhere.

It's only use is to get you to the best dungeon in the game

This, but I actually do enjoy flying around in it. I've got landing down quite well and only died a few times because of weird shit. I enjoy my time when listening to the FF9 soundtrack :3

I have a much fonder opinion of it than others that's for sure.

At the start of chapter 4. Just been warned of a point of no return. How long am I locked down a specific path if I choose to further the story right now?

It just means you'll be locked into a story mission for a short while.

There is no actual point of no return to the open world and side quests, right up to the final encounter.

The two
Yoda Knights in the "Legend Wrapped in an Enigma" quest
are annihilating me. Absolutely impossible fight on normal difficulty for me. :/ I think this is when I have to play on easy. The post game content is really hard and way, way better than the main game content in general.

I'm almost level 50, have fully upgraded the engine blade, and currently have five royal arms and I'm still in chapter 3. This OCD about doing everything possible before continuing the story is going to be the end of me.

Here is her actress. She is beautiful.

Just watched the ending.

I am not okay.

Going to dive into the postgame tomorrow, and will probably type up a huge post of my thoughts at some point, but right now this is my GOTY, possibly one of my favourites in the series, and an experience that will stay with me for a long time.

I'd probably give it 8.5/10. The fact that I'm willing to score it so high, despite the issues I have with it (and believe me, I have some BIG issues with it) speaks volumes about how much the rest of the game resonated with me.

It's crazy that I could have enjoyed it even more if it'd had another year in the oven to properly craft the story, add some meat to the second half and polish up all the minor aspects.

Even crazier to think that I pretty much hated the game before I played it.

You'll probably need to do at least some of the sidequests. I did a good chunk of them early on and still needed to return to the open world before the final battle to do more.

All right, killed these fuckers. You can't ever attack. You just gotta hold your dodge button and parry for 10 minutes until they're dead. Maybe hope for summons to speed things up.

Last boss is level.. .40 something? I think?

I pretty much rofflestomped him with 0 effort at level 62 (admittedly, the choice of accessories also made it really easy), so yeah, you should be good.

Oh geez okay that sounds good to me, thanks lol

... did I just got teletransported to the entrance of Costlemark Tower? After all I've been through? Who designed this?

Started postgame, customizing the Regalia and I just now realized I had to go to Cindy to equip all these components I got from her quests... I just assumed they installed naturally as I picked them up. lol

Now I know why the Regalia never seemed to get any faster and why I kept running into demons at night. -_-

I think this is the consensus for quite a few reviews. It's a flawed but really unique presentation for a mainline Final Fantasy.

Finally getting the hang of air combat.... really addicted to side quests too. I'm like level 31 yet still in Chapter 3, I think.

Which angers me at the same time, because damn it, this game could've been perfect if the story wasn't such a mess.

Fuck these bug enemies man.

I was so happy when I found a hunt that gave me the Ribbon accessory, which prevents most status conditions. Tired of getting confused and shit all the time.

Not a fan of the hidden door dungeons so far.

The combat, while good for a RPG, isn't satisfying or deep enough to warrant a 100 floor Bloody Palace - style dungeon.

Yoshichan

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?

So, I have these Royal Arms:

Sword of the Wise
Axe of the Conqueror
Bow of the Clever
Swords of the Wanderer
Blade of the Mystic
Sword of the Tall
Shield of the Just
Mace of the Fierce
Scepter of the Pious

And I've found the Crestholm Channels dungeon, which I plan to explore later and I imagine there must be a Royal Tomb there, right?
So where can I find the remaining 3 Royal Arms? Do I need to advance a little bit in the story before gaining access to them? (I'm on chapter 5)

What about me :x

Level 60, Engine Blade upgraded, 4 royal arms, Chocobo max level, most Ascension skills I need unlocked, Hunter Rank 5, currently doing a level 55 dungeon... Still Chapter 3.

Enjoying the game at my pace ^.^ I know I'm not much of a post-game person so I'll blitz through main quests one-shotting everything as soon as I'm satisfied with Roadtrip XV.

Also, who the hell is Jared?
Can't wait to meet him!

There's none in there. The only thing the dungeon has in terms of notable rewards is
the supercharger for a quest Cindy gives you. Getting it allows her to upgrade your car to have headlights that are bright enough to ward off daemons at nighttime.
Star of the Rogue is an optional one you can get in the Myrlwoods area in like the top left corner of the map or so, you can get in.The other two you get through the story.

Random tips: Whenever y'all get the Royal Arm the Bow of the Clever, get Ignis' Overwhelm skill. Also get the Regenerate technique from the Teamwork grid. It's a pretty damn useful skill.

Costlemark Tower is really souring me on the post game and has me close to shelving the game for good. Grrrrr.
