Tekken |OT3|

Literally he said "Of course they have different Rage Arts, as you can see." ... "They're just explaining how it's not just a palette swap. They are their own character, as you can see with the differing Rage Arts." Timestamp.

Does that mean they get a whole moveset each? I dunno. Doesn't really sound like it to me.

It'll probably be along the lines of a Ling/Miharu difference from Tag 2.

It looks like right now that Lee, Miguel and bears are console exclusive.

There has been zero word on whether if they'll be added to arcade.

I think the reason why the higher ups don't really care about the negativity and the complaints is because they feel that people will forgive and forget when the honeymoon moment comes.

When I say honeymoon moment, what I mean is that when the game actually comes out, we're gonna be too busy playing it to think about how long we waited to play it.

MikeBreezy I think, knows what I'm talking about, because I see him consistently saying that there are other things to think about other than how long we're waiting for the game to come out. Even though he's right, it's just annoying to think about the fact that I can't actually go anywhere and spend money on the game and just bring it home right now and play it. More annoying because I have money that I want to give to Namco directly just to have a copy of the game for myself.

The game is gonna come out, we're gonna make an OT for it, we're gonna get lobbies going and amidst of all the fun with playing the game, the stinky quagmire of complaints and waiting will fade away.

Not completely though since we're still talking about how trash the wait was for Tekken 6, but you get what I mean.

And in no way am I joining any kind of defense unit for the arcade release taking so long, don't misunderstand me.

Yup. I think you nailed it, Dereck.

I do think there's a certain amount of people that were hyped about Tekken earlier in the year (or last year), that have since quietly gone on to play other games and forget all about this one. Because they're not sitting here bitching and complaining, the Namcops won't hear about them so it's easy to forget but... pretty sure there's some folks like that.

Yeah that's likely.

Here they are clashing with df+1+2, same move.

Here Kuma does df+2,1. Here Panda does df+2,1.

They both do the Bear stance head rush too but generally the trailer been cut really sneaky so the moves don't repeat. Who knows maybe they cut moveset in half for each or gave different properties for the same moves(that I'd like) but it's most likely still a model swap.

Everyone knows I like Kuma and it's cool he's in, but I wouldn't give any normal character's place for him, let alone two. He's just great bonus character mainstay that comes last.
Panda fucking sucks.

Kuma taking priority over Julia(and 10 others). That's fucked up hard. Like someone doesn't his priorities - fucked up.

Just made this for the OT, this shit fire

Happy to see Kuma. I'm part of the crowd that thinks it wouldn't be Tekken without the bear. (Well, of course it would, but I consider him a series staple). Panda on the other hand - don't care. They were always separate entities in my head, even when they shared a move list, and Panda is a bit of a bitch.

Pre-orders are up for First4Figure's very impressive Jin statue.

Tekken 3 Exclusive Version - $449.99

Tekken 5 Exclusive Version - $449.99

Regular versions come with a simpler base, and cost $384.99.

As was the case with their King statue, Jin features some very impressive detailing:

I'm happy for bears. They're cool.

It's definitely true that the average casual consumer doesn't know/care about the arcade version. When we're playing at the arcade we always see random people walk by and say they had no idea there was a Tekken 7 out.

Dumbfounded that the release date didn't happen. Was expecting a massive info blowout like Last year's.

I think at this point,I am suspecting the game is facing development hell/funding issues with the big story mode they're trying.

The wait has been grueling for this game.

MarkMan has done so much for the Tekken community, there is no question about it. BUT I really didn't like the "Fuck them" comment made to us during the global finals. Was that really necessary to say?? That kinda pissed me off. Me..like so many peeps here in Gaf have been spectating T7 for like what..freaking TWO years now???

We didnt even get the release date...which I was hoping to get the during the Global finals.. I ignored my family and spent almost the entire day watching the Global finals.. like 10 hours of it.. then I heard MarkMan saying... FUCK THEM....

100% agree.

I like MarkMan but that was some BS.

Question about Jin/Kazuya. Why is it that Jin players seem to mixup dashing and WD a lot more than Kazuya players who almost use WD exclusively? I wouldve thought since Jin has a WD he'd pretty much use it extensively like Kazuya does, but he doesnt. Also, when would be the right time to mixup dashes and mixup WD's as Jin/Kazuya?

He ruined the whole ending for me. I was up something like 30+ hours without sleep and by the end I was losing my mind but I wanted to see it through. Because it was the biggest Tekken finals ever made. Because Saint was crying and everyone was breaking in tears too. Markman fucked all that up with his comment.

And there comes the announcement stuff. Something I was holding on too. I mean for such finals marking end of the year? Tournament to end all tournaments? It's gotta be something big, right? They wouldn't dare to troll fans at such event, right? RIGHT? Markman definitely hyped this shit so even Aris couldn't wait to see it.

Boy oh boy, how it backfired. Aris and TastySteve looked so disappointed, like a kid who upon unwrapping present realized he got pile of shit instead of his dream bike(or whatever kids want these days Iphone9 or some shit).
When Aris said: "Now I think I'm really gonna cry." I could tell by the tone of his voice that Markman felt stupid maybe even embarrassed. But it was his own fucking fault, hyping a troll of an announcement like that.

That's some advanced shit right there.

It's likely because generally Jin's ff moves are better. Both ff+3 and ff+4 are plus on block. Ff+3 always converts to beefy combo damage and ff+4 while slow forces crouch, can be up to +7 on block and hits grounded. Add to that ff+2 which has great range and speed and is safe after pushblock and you have a character with strong dash tools.

Kazuya's has very good f+4 that is +4, but in T7 he has steel pedal on ff+4 so the easy f,n,d,df,n,f+4 will give him ff+4 instead f+4 so ppl must watch out. His ff+3 forces crouch but is -3 and his ff+2 is faster then jin's but that's a high so might as well go for an electric if you're doing it from crouch dash.

This was exactly my reaction to that reveal:

And yeah, what MarkMan said. Bleh. Only reason I have any interest in T7 at this point is the wife and my friends really want to play.

But cant you access those same ff moves out of a wavedash? f,n,d,df,n,f+4_3_2 will give you those same moves but with extra range.

For a range, yes. When opponent is close, you don't really wanna bother with longer f,n,d,df,n,f+4 input. The "scare factor" of wavedashing don't work for everyone too. Some people will just hopkick you to the moon once they see a wavedash dance. Also wavedashers often never hit break (B) and get punished for it.

Anyone else miss the 3D character intros in the Tekken 6 character select screen? They always felt more stylish to me than the basic character panels that they've got in Tag 2 and 7, though the latter method probably cuts down on some load times.

Yeah it's cool, but days you could have that and short load times are gone. I don't wanna see 4+ minute load times on T7. That UE4 is not efficient at all for T7.
Jank as fuck yo.;)

Those new customes are tremendously impressive, every single one of them. I applaud the effort, really well done.

Many characters basically got a 3P costume.

I'm very, very impressed.

What if at that January event they announce T7 is available that same day Sega Saturn style?

Piss off fans until they're sick of it just to then announce it "Sega Saturn" style?
On the one hand I'd expect something stupid like that from Bamco. On the other hand I don't expect them to release it so soon.

Then it would be as successful as the Sega Saturn.

Dayum.

The new outfits are indeed very impressive. If you don't give us T6 customization options, give us cool costumes instead. I like that.

To add to this I just wanna say I hate having to wait too, it's just that more or less the game itself will reap what it sows. If they lose people over this and have tepid T6/TTT2 sales it just shows they care more for the immediate monetary gain for arcades which sucks for us but they really don't have to care because they already got their money. If it's successful regardless, then wtf do we know. It's like a lose/lose when it comes to us vs the top heads at Namco. That's why I choose not to engage in the complaining anymore because it's really pointless to complain about the same exact things we've complained about since Tekken 6. Unless thirsty ass Tekken Fans boycott the game but thats dangerous in itself and also not likely because that thirst for Tekken is strong besides a select few.

Markman, Harada, and Michael Murray's reactions to fans say more than "oh these uppity fans" than people realize. Its very obvious everyone is Fustrated at this point.

Kuma/Panda and the tournament mode reveal was dope though
