It really sucks that we didn't see Claire or Rebecca in canon in a game from 1998-2011 (Claire) and 1998-201? (Rebecca).

So... this is a farewell to the convoluted characters who have long since overstayed their welcome via another dumpster-tier CGI film as they reboot the series with a game in a new direction?

The resi evil CG films are total guilty pleasures of mine, bring it on!

This too, I not so secretly enjoyed the fuck out of those subpar B rate movies.

Second was way better than the first despite not having Claire (and first was bad for not having enough Claire). Hopefully Rebbecca gets ample screentime regardless of how ugly she looks, I can't wait to see her.

It's weird that Rebecca is canonically less Japanese than Jill, despite Rebecca in her last canon appearance being modeled after a Japanese person.

Claire is lucky she had Revelations 2 and the first CG movie, she doesn't have a place in the series and hardly makes sense.

Rebecca is a weird case as she is a major part of Zero & 1 only gets mentioned as surviving in passing.
Was completely forgotten about until the Stage play basically said "oh yeah, she survived and has been working with the BSAA."
Which is silly that 5,6, Rev1 and Rev2 hadn't even mentioned her in a file at all.
Rebecca should be in more.

Claire was a main protagonist in two mainline titles and in-canon works for an international human rights organization. RE's world is as silly as that of Marvel or DC. They could have made up any excuse and easily have had her appear in any game.

Thought it was 2012

RE6 is 2012-13.

Rebecca and Leon look great, chris though...

Is 5&6 face is so darn good I don't know how they screwed it up so badly.
I'd go so far as to say 6's face model(hair not included) might be the best male facial model design in gaming.

My god if Chris cameos in 7 and his face is in line with this version.

My translation of the plot summary:

Chris Redfield, member of the biohazard counterterrorism organization BSAA, infiltrates a mysterious mansion belonging to an organization involved in the sale of illegal weaponry. During his investigation, he confronts Glenn Arias, a criminal on Interpol's watch list. Chris witnesses an unbelievable sight, and Arias eventually manages to get away.

Meanwhile, Rebecca Chambers, originally a member of the RPD S.T.A.R.S. and now a university professor, is researching and investigation a mysterious incident in which "the dead are resurrecting and becoming more sinister."

Based on her investigation, there is a "new-type virus" involved, and Rebecca's efforts to uncover the truth lead her to successfully developing a cure. Immediately after, a mysterious person infiltrates her laboratory, and Rebecca is nearly killed before Chris and the BSAA save her just in time.

After this attack, Chris and Rebecca go to Leon S. Kennedy of the US government's DSO because Leon is the person most knowledgeable about it.

Chris and Leon thus meet again.

Both of them believe Arias' true motive is "bio terror." Together with Rebecca, they travel to New York in order to stop Arias' plan and save humanity.

Doubtful, given much of the RE5 and REvelations team are behind RE7.

This is just due to the animators and artists attached to the film. We've had some big changes before (Jill, Claire, Barry-sorta), but this seems a bit too far out in comparison to those.

^You just reminded me that they are rehashing the Chris loses his team theme again. That alone puts the film in the negative.

My god, she looks great. It's the only character that, instead of looking older, looks more grown up.

Jill's face is a total trainwreck now. But the transition from young rebecca to recent rebecca feels accurate and believable.

Leon on the other hand...

It's so WEIRD seeing my last name used like that! Never thought it would happen!

Need to play the game that Rebecca is in. So I can find out why she's "bae".
Eh, she is kinda weak and everything but she has a decent personality and is a genius supposedly(and wears appropriate attire compared to Jill).

Honestly though, Mercenaries is why Rebecca is "bae"

best Mercenaries character of the series.

Rebecca looks amazing. Damn they need to change Chris's face model. Looking more like Chris Butterfield up in here.
