Rust is a harsh ass game. I woke up in my home and there was a hole in the wall. Someone raided me stole all my resources, clothes and food. Just laying there naked I feel so violated. Not too mention earlier I beat some dude to death with a rock just to steel a little bit of wood from him. Felt really bad. So many horrible experiences in this game I don't think I want to play it anymore.

View the original listing and he has more copies.

Are the Star Wars modes online only or removed from the Gold Edition of Disney Infinity 3.0? I haven't been following the product close enough to know, but I am interested in seeing if they can do right by their fans.

That depends on the modes. I believe there was a mode that was removed because it was online only, but you can play many full story modes (including campaigns about the original SW trilogy and the prequels)

NervousXtian

Thought Emoji Movie was good. Take that as you will.
Reported all of the reviews and all of the profiles of the reviewers; Valve will do precisely nothing because they literally don't care whatsoever about abuse or racism on their service. To them, racist reviews is the market reflecting the game's appeal. The mechanism for getting rid of racist reviews is voting up not racist reviews and voting down racist reviews. It's embarrassing.

It's beyond embarrassing.. because if you start banning people from posting reviews or using the forums for racist posts then you're going to stop the problem. It's not that hard.. also names like "chokey the deepthroating gerbil" don't really need to be a thing.

You guys see this shit?

BTW, why the fuck does Valve allow openly racist posts and reviews on their service?

My kids use Steam for fuck's sake.

If you see a problematic review, click through to its page and report it. Reviews aren't manually approved and in this case the game unlocked an hour before Valve's business day ended.

Edit: Oops, I thought I'd refreshed the thread.

So Infinite Warfare is getting free trial tomorrow for consoles. Lasts 5 days and lets you couple of chapters of the campaign along with multiplayer/zombies with level caps. I wonder if they'll do Steam too. They should as there is only like 1100 playing right now
lol.

what are some good 1-2 hour games if one wanted to "cheat" in these last 15 days left of 2016 for the 52 games thing?

Im at 40 games btw
  • Tengami (about 1.5h)
  • 80 days (I spent much more than 20h on this, but you can get your first ending in about an hour)
  • Samorost 2 (about 1.5h)
  • MISSING: An Interactive Thriller - Episode One (not sure how long, much less than 1h)
  • Loom (about 2-3h)
  • Ben There, Dan That & Time Gentleman, Please (about 2h each)
  • Gomo (about 1.5h)
  • Lilly looking through (about 1.5h)
  • Finding Teddy (about 1.5h)

Here's an idea to solve review abuse against independent developers: Allow developers to turn off reviews for any game grossing under $50,000 (or some other threshold) and sold for under $5 in exchange for allowing unlimited refunds, not having cards or any IAP or marketplace functionality, not placing in any kind of ranking or filter by reviews. Whatever set of rules it takes to allow for transgressive or unusual work to exist without offering a platform for abuse.

I noticed the same thing with Revolution 60. Some of the bad reviews were actually reviews saying the game is bad, which seems fair (it doesn't look appealing to me) but most of the bad reviews were just abuse hurled against the developer, including posting sensitive personal information about the developer. (Over time the garbage does eventually get voted down and replaced by more substantive reviews--most of the stuff now is closer to an actual review). Hard to believe Steam is delivering value to users by allowing 4channers to spam "dindu nuffin" repeatedly.

Finished The Silent Age, really enjoyed it.The story is a cliche
time travel
mystery but its well done enough that I forgive its lack of originality. The puzzles are actually quite easy which I liked, as most objects you pick up have logical uses and are usually not far off the solution. Some might not like that but as someone with a apreciation for the genre but little patience for the more obtuse ones these days, this was right up my alley. Great art design and good voice acting / soundtrack plus the short run time make this a very easy recomendation to fans of the genre, especially since everyone and their mother probably has it from all the bundles it was in.

This is honestly pathetic. If you exclude free games and packins, the highest documented sales I can get for a game is Vanishing Realms at 60,000 copies--and even the packin stuff seems totally stalled at this point. Vive either isn't selling, or it's selling exclusively to developers, because no one is buying any software. Only 15 free titles have broke 100k.

Honestly it was to be expected, Vive and Occulus are too expensive for mainstream, specially considering you also need a really powerful PC to be able to run them properly.

Yeah, this doesn't surprise me at all. Outside of PSVR, we had more VR talks last year compared to this year. No one is even talking about PSVR anymore these days. We also had that thread about PSX 2016 and PSVR a couple weeks ago, which kinda shows the current state of VR. I personally still have hope for VR, but I don't think I'm going to jump in until at least 3-5 more years. Hopefully by then the devices will be a lot cheaper and way more games are available.

Wait for it to be wireless, standalone and have a bunch of killer apps (must play games). And it needs to cost like 200-300$. That is probably when VR gaming will really go mainstream. Around 2020-2025 or so. Until then its just people alpha testing tech for companies. You can't charge PC gamers more money then it cost for a high end gpu and expect a healthy market. No one is gonna buy it other than select few with spare cash.

Anyone know if the retail version of Tyranny comes with a Steam key?
I'm seeing Amazon sell it slightly less than from Steam directly

I did a quick look on that list and aside Heaven Island Life, which was/is free from time to time I can see why this is happening:

I think VRs need to be able to stand on its own, as a platform not a peripheral, to be able to go mainstream.

VR shouldn't be targeted at core gamers, it should be targeted to the casuals. Casuals might not have a console nor a PC.

The problem with VR, is that you have to buy enough parts for a beefed up computer that can run it, then buy the headset, then buy the games. Honestly I could see this coming. What they needed to do, is take a console like approach and pack the headsets with everything you need to play (minus the games of course)

Things need to start somewhere. Enthusiasts are often targeted before more mainstream pushes, as they can essentially kickstart development and improvements. VR will eventually go mainstream, likely on mobile.

idk how i feel about dragon's dogma, there's some really cool stuff to it but i feel like everything i come across is pretty much impossibly difficult in a stat-check-y kind of way

like i either run into like 20 bandits all at once or there's this one guy that i deal no damage to or something like that

If the game is getting hard or you are getting stuck just hire some overleveled pawns. Like 20-40 levels higher than you. It makes the game easier and even more fun in some cases since they outright destroy enemies. Its a fun sight. That is what I did in some areas. And you can always get rid of the pawn if you feel like the game is getting too easy too.

Reposting from other thread, halp!
My Dualshock 4 (new version) don't detected by some games, which have native support, like Axiom Verge, Fez or Shovel Knight. But Rocket League is working, but without vibration =(
If i enable ds4 support in steam big picture it will be detected (but as xbox controller, with xbox button prompts)..Is it normal or what?

yeah, maybe

i just feel like i'm doing something wrong, most of the quests i found have no map marker (which normally wouldn't be a big deal but the world turned so large out of nowhere that when i'm told to go to cursewood or whatever i don't even know where that is...) and whenever i find the quest objective it turns out to be harder than i'd expected

the game gives me sort of a stalker vibe of just being left out to my own devices to survive however i can, slowly making progress until the moment i guess i'll break forward and become actually strong

i also wish the game autosaved way more often, i've had to replay long chunks cos i was expecting it to while you need to do an quicksave-esque thing if you don't want to keep losing progress (again reminds me of stalker lol)

but yeah would've been nice if the game didn't spike in difficulty out of nowhere with no clear indication of what i'm missing or what i could be doing better. it's just this story mission has some really tough enemies, this reynard fellow is following me around for some reason and i'm murdering lady bandits to help some other bandits or something but sometimes i ran into what feels like 200 lady bandits and they murder my butt so fucking quick lol

I bought Trillion: God of Destruction today for $12 from the B/S/T thread only to find out it's on sale for $8.99 on the Humble Bundle store today.

Note to self, check prices before buying!

It's already that cheap? Wasn't it released a few months ago?

Yeah... The level system kind of ruins it. It goes from really difficult (you are here), hits a nice parity partway through, drops off a cliff towards the end, and then jumps way higher than ever before in Bitterblack Isle/NG+.

I think I would've enjoyed it a lot more if it had a soft stat system like Dark Souls, or went entirely level-less. Like, I had a lot of fun overall, but I don't really want to ever go back to it, in spite of how much I totally could.

Anyways, the pawn and D&D party stuff are awesome. Really wish it got a sequel.
