isn't Ghost Bath that band that pretended to be from China for kvlt points

Yeah, though I think they claim they just didn't correct people when the rumors about that started flying.

Who knows.

I don't really are much about that crap. I like their music. I also think even if it is ripping of Deafheaven's sound, they did so in a pretty damned good way. I like Moonlover slightly more than Sunbather or New Bermuda.

Had totally missed the latest songs by Grave Pleasures. The Climax album they released under Beastmilk name is one of my all time favorites, but the first one released as Grave Pleasures was a huge disappointment. Deadenders sounds like the good old stuff and got me really excited for the upcoming album.

Thank you for this. Had no idea they released new material. I actually really liked the Grave Pleasures debut album. The new stuff sounds killer.

If you haven't, check out Hexvessel's When We Are Death. The album shares a lot with Beastmilk/Grave Pleasures and it's not just McNerney's vocals.

No.

In fact, it doesn't get any better than this for Gothic Metal, period. Wolfheart is just that fucking good. :) Do check out Irreligious too, though.

Opium didn't resonate with me as a single and It took me a while to listen to the whole release afterwards, but when I did, It became one of my favourite Goth Metal's album, and even though I hold Wolfheart in such high respect I actually gave Irreligious the most listens between the two.

I accidentally bought this. Funnily enough, I had listened to it beforehand and somehow thought it was worth buying. When the guy busts out the "You de beast...evil one" (or whatever, it was years and years since I listened to it) it rocketed into my top five hilarious metal records. Another one was Misanthrope's "1666...Theatre Bizarre". The nineties was truly a golden decade of hilarity in metal.

Fernando Ribeiro's English pronunciation isn't exactly good, but that's hardly a good enough reason to position Moonspell together with a band as terrible as Misanthrope...

So Metal Blade has a 35 year anniversary tour coming up.

This seems good

Whitechapel (eh the only one that I'm not too excited about)

Cattle Decapitation
Goatwhore
Allegaeon

Morrigan Stark

Arrogant Smirk

A lot of European bands have mispronunciations or accented English. It doesn't bother me unless it's really jarring, but I suppose some people are easily amused. e_e

I wonder if Bootleg Fireworks laughs his ass off at Manilla Road's Necropolis. I mean that Kansas accent "Last in necraaaaaa~palaaaaaaa~s" must be the height of hilarity.

I love shitty English from foreign metal bands.

Abigail - Bitch! Your My Angel

Bitch! Your my angel
You have listen Venom and Bathory
Burning your heart for metal
Crush! Kill! Destroy!

Witching metal come here
Give me the power of thunder
I love to see your ass
Pussy kiss of hell

I drink the your blood
I masturbate on your face
Street metal bitch, my master
Die in blood and pain tonight

Street metal bitch
Fuck me Satan
Street metal bitch
Fighting for hell

Street metal, back from hell
Satan's revenge for your pussy
Street metal bitch, my master
Mother of Satanik horde

Street metal bitch
Fuck me Satan
Street metal bitch
Fighting for hell

Just found out that Blood Incantation launched their first full release in August;

And it's as amazing as I expected it to be.

Edit: Are you all already working on those Metal Albums of the Year list? Excited for some of Bitanator's yearly recommendations.

lol I'm so bad at knowing when and what came out every year so I never make lists. Like I'll find out about some band and grab all 7 of their albums but their last one was from 1995 or some shit and I'll get them confused with bands who release something that I dig so I grab their discography or somesuch situation.

I'm awful at making lists anyways. Cult of Luna/Julie Christmas is definitely on there tho.

Wouldn't mind some more Cult of Daath one day. Not sure what happened to these guys.

Ooo new Teitanblood.

I own every Cult of Daath release. Killer USBM.

and oh fuck, I knew there was a new Teitanblood release but I'm almost more excited about the fact that Sanctified Dysecdysis is now on vinyl. Probably my single favorite Teitanblood track.

That's funny you post the new Teitanblood. I was listening to the new Antaeus record on bandcamp today and decided to randomly click over to Teitanblood's page since they are both on NED now and I wanted to see what they were up to. Came here to post that they had a new release. Good shit.

Also, how have I never heard Cult of Daath before? Awesome stuff.

Yeah thats a killer track. I'll have to pick up the vinyl.

Glad folks enjoyed Cult of Daath.

I posted a Ride for Revenge track earlier in this thread. I got into Ride for Revenge because at the time I was collecting recordings from Torturium and they released a split CD.

I remember being excited for the release of Black Lunatic Chaos, so this is one of 'those stories' but I seriously can't believe that was 10 fucking years ago.

So should we plan on posting our tryhard end of the year lists in this thread? Lol.

Fresh Bongripper tee came in the mail last night.

Nice. I've seen them a couple of times, first time was in a basement and I thought it was pretty terrible (it was a grind show, they played obnoxiously loud and it seemed like just one riff for 30 minutes). Friends endearingly call them OneRiffer lol

Caught them at MDF 2014 I think and really dug them though. I'm not the biggest fan of doom but I generally lean towards more sludgey shit rooted in punk, Bongripper jams hard. I think you just need to be in the right vibe for it.

I've been meaning to catch them live, but missed a few times. Their older stuff was a bit more varied. Hippie Killer, Satan Worshipping Doom, and the re-issue of Great Barrier Reef are great. Their last album Miserable was pretty fucking miserable.

Cool, dude! I'm a pretty big fan, but I've never gotten the chance to see them., It seems like they stick to Chicago more or less. Hippie Killer is probably in my top 10 for favorite metal albums.

EDIT: Yes, I agree Miserable kind of sucked. Super boring, almost to the point that I think it was intentional.

huge fan of Finnish black metal and have never listened to these guys before, although knew of them because of the existence of said split. Will have to pick this up now. That sample is fucking fantastic, wow. Everything about it is perfect, true black metal but most notably the riffs. A lot of the more recognized bands in the Finnish scene are fairly melodic but these kinds of riffs, the chaotic ones with a tinge of chaos/triumph/insanity (ie. at about 30 seconds in) are for me the best type of black metal riffs. The vocals are totally fucked up too. Killer rec, thanks.

Does anybody know what happened to the Death tribute album James Murphy was working on and which had pretty much everybody performing on it?
