What would be the perfect ending for FF VII Remake episode I?

I see many people saying the first game would only feature Midgar but this seens like a big mistake. Only Midgar would mean really thin content I guess.

The should finish part 1 with Aerith's death IMO. It's the perfect cliffhanger because that's exactly where a New game's act begins.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
Ending it at Midgar wouldn't make episode I "thin of content". Not at all actually.

I would be fine with ending on the cliffhanger of cloud finishing his story about his home being destroyed. Although I expect midgar to be the ending because it could be released in my lifetime and that scene just feels like a closure.

Aerith was dead all along and Cloud killed her.

In all seriousness hopefully Junon/the Shinra ship heading to the west continent. Ending it at the end of Midgar means we can expect 5+ episodes of FFVIIR

I can see them doing a 3 game structure.

Part 1: Midgar/Leaving to the west continent
Part 2: Everything up until Aertih's death
Part 3: Endgame

Probably everyone on the bridge just before leaving Midgar. How many parts are they doing though? That could be way too much or little depending.

First Jenova fight on the trip to Costa del Sol. Still think that cutting the game up by Jenova fights (boat/crater) give nice ends to arcs and the reveal of larger things to come. Maybe Aeris death in there instead of the crater fight...but that does leave quite a bit for the final game.

Midgar is the logical place. They can easily pad that out to be an episode. Running it to what was the end of disc 1 in the original game is going to mean rushing through a lot. People expecting each part to be a full game I think are going to be disappointed. I'd expect 10 hours a piece with side quests. SE will suggest otherwise, but it won't happen.

Leaving Midgar is the most likely end, unless they do the Kaim sequence too. I guess they'll leave that until later to hype up the "play as Sephiroth, but even more awesome this time!" aspect for part 2 though.

Wishful, but here's hoping.

End of Disc 1 would be fine

I think an episode for each disc would be fair

I can see them doing a 3 game structure.

Part 1: Midgar/Leaving to the west continent
Part 2: Everything up until Aertih's death
Part 3: Endgame

This would be pretty good

It will be only Midgar as they'll will stall over the decision whether to make this into an open world game or not going forward. They will not do Midgar and the world map section in a single game you can forget about it.

The game does have a 3 part structure to begin with, seeing as there was 3 discs for the original game.

Ending part 1 around the event the OP mentioned would be interesting as it follows the original game and there's a huge chunk of content in Part 1 of the game, the remake will likely expand upon this too.

End it when you get out of Midgar. I always thought there should be more to do in Midgar, they could make a whole game out of it.

Unless there are Naruto scale of fillers
Midgar exile feels too early

Aerith's death makes a good cut off point
All the party members have been introduced
As well as a good chunk of the world

Although iono how they can stretch the rest of the game into 2 more episodes

Expanded Midgar would be cool, but there's so much game after it that I'd rather not have the whole thing consist of about 8 episodes. The earliest ending point I'd want would be Junon, and that still leaves a lot.

My personal hope is:

Part 1: Shinra ship from Junon
Part 2: Meteor summoned
Part 3: Rest of the game

If they're going for 5 episodes then it'll probably be the end of Midgar

I think they are going to be adding enough new stuff that Midgar could be expanded to be big enough for the first part. I'm not sure part 1 will end there though.

The post I quoted above is what I think it'll happen. They will have to add some new elements in the story content to make the first episode lasts.

... I doubt they're going all the way up to Aerith's death with part 1.

I believe they're going to go with the only Midgar for part 1, and they'll probably beef up the gameplay time in that section of the game by introducing "fresh" new gameplay mechanics like:
- Midgar Slums Beast Hunts/Bounties
- Fishing at Aerith's mom's house
- Cooking with Tifa
- Barret's camera arm photo mode
- Cloud's Lightning Cosplay Dress up Extravaganza

They'll probably fuck it up and insert some of the Godawful Crisis Core nonsense in there too...
I swear, if Angeal or Genesis show up in the remake, count me out for part 2.

Kalm Inn section

Edit: Ehh, the more I think of it, the more I feel it's going to end of Midgar. Makes too much sense.

Kalm Inn would be a great ending/teaser for what's to come.

I do actually agree but I feel like it's going to be a really anticlimactic ending. Like we get all the cool stuff with Sephy and then the party go to bed, credits roll. I'm not really sure which would be better to be honest as both Kalm and Midgar are going to be pretty relaxed endings.
