The Metal Thread |OT2| All Riffs, No Gifs

Speaking of AOTY's , we are doing ours on the Metal community?

I got mine almost ready, just trying not to forget any important one to recommend.

I hope so, I get a bunch of great recommendations from here. I've been going back and looking through the past year of releases... so much good stuff.

Still finishing off 2016 releases and this Devilment album came up. I like the music but the vocalist...seems familiar. Looked it up and sure enough it's Dani Filth which is interesting to hear his vocals used in a different band.

What? Checking this out NOW

Well, i will go ahead and post my 2016 Top 10 list.
Looking forward to see everybody's lists, i always get some great recommendations of albums i somehow missed during the year.

Here it is.

10. Trees of Eternity - Hour of the Nightingale

Trees_of_Eternity_hour_of_the_nightengale.jpg

Not a lot of bands are doing good Gothic/Doom these days, if at all, this album was highly expected because the band was formed by Juha Raivio from Swallow the Sun, and his wife Aleah (who did backing vocals for STS). A soulful album with powerful and beautiful vocals make this an incredible debut. Unfortunately the band's existence was cut short due to the tragic death of Aleah earlier this year.

9. Dark Tranquillity - Atoma

darktranquillityatomacd.jpg

As a huge fan, Atoma finally hits what they have been trying for a while, the incorporation of Mikael's clean and harsh vocals. Construct was a bit confusing with what they wanted to accomplish, Atoma improves their concept much better, aggressive with some clean and great melodies creating a good contrast.

8. When Nothing Remains - In Memoriam

whennothingremains.jpg

This album arrived early in the year and it took me some time to listen for i never paid much attention to this band, after the first listen i was so hooked that i went the next day to buy their other 2 albums. Some really well played and strong Doom/Gothic/Funeral, this band does it all flawlessly and this album is fantastic.

7. Throes of Dawn - Our Voices Shall Remain

throes-of-dawn-our-voices-shall-remain-cd.jpg

Quite possibly the surprise of the year to me. A band i listened to before and always felt so underwhelmed. I playlisted their new release with others i wanted to listen much more in the same week and was ready to rush into the songs but i was shocked with the quality of this album, it's like it's another band entirely, they play a varied kind of music, there's Prog/Atmospheric/Shoegaz-ish/Death in it, everything so well put together and executed spetacularly.

6. Megadeth - Dystopia

1000x1000.jpg

Haven't enjoyed a Megadeth album in a while, but this one for me reconnects the kind of music i love from them, which is full of intense riffs and a good technical side to it too. Love the new blood in the band that put a spark into Mustaine to come back to the good Megadeth days.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrV61ATP3Ec

5. 40 Watt Sun - Wider Than The Sky

WTTS-570x600.jpg

That was yet another long long wait for a new album and they did not disappoint, despite the different guitar tuning that confused the fans a bit, i think what i see around for people who didn't like it at first coming around and getting used to it. You know about Patrick as a person because he leaves everything out there with his music and voice. His music makes me think and cry, it's always one of the most beautiful things i will hear.

4. Khemmis - Hunted

14730743_1180537172040811_8786650661161795584_n.jpg

Khemmis debuted with a great album last year and they've done it again, what a delightful Doom Metal sound with some good modern touches here and there, i think they distinguish themselves from other bands of the genre, to me one of the best new bands around.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFagcBIfe20

3. Borknagar - Winter Thrice

25667_1.jpg

The 2016 release i listened the most this year, their direction sure isn't pleasing all old fans of the band, they are slowly moving on from the Folk/Black Metal to a more Melodic approach to this genre taking advantage of Vintersorg's absolutely amazing clean vocals that came to surface so improved in the awesome "Origin" album. I love every single song of this release and it would be my favourite this year if my two favourite bands in this World didn't also release new albums in 2016.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zoa9w7WB_Xo

2. Insomnium - Winter's Gate

FPFOeAv.png

Despite not being a fan's favourite, Shadows of the Dying Sun is my favourite Insomnium's album and the one i listened the most for the past 2 years, so when they announced they were doing a Thematic new album with only one song it felt scary to me. Of course they didn't disappoint me, they never did. The album feels so fresh and the thematic nature of it makes it perfect, it is perfectly written, produced and executed. They were inspired by one of the most classic Death albums of all time, Edge of Sanity's Crimson, also thematic, and in my opinion put themselves together a classic album too.

1. Alcest - Kodama

14624439_1772967619641927_4353277026140946432_n.jpg

Don't even know if it's fair, probably completely biased, i eat and breath Alcest, so this was bound to be my favourite album of the year and it is. Neige returned the band to its former music that made them the shoegaze kings by being inspired by the Charlie Hebdo massacre that hit him hard. This was yet another life inspiring album to me, the music and the lyrics always had the ability to change my mood, my point of view, this one is no different. The music content interchanges Ecailles de Lune vibes with Shelter in it, which is perfect to me since i love them both. Eclosion is also my favourite song of 2016.

Could've made the list/Honorable Mentions

x. Terra Tenebrosa - The Reverses
Almost made my top 10, very underrated band and album. Pretty somber Avant-garde Black Metal, love the lyrics, the vocals, the production. Listen to it, peeps.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vQVl2-DcWY

x. Pallbearer - Fear & Fury [EP]
Doom Metal excellence, this new EP got me so hyped for their new album, just recently announced for 2017. Type O Negative cover of Love you To Death is absolutely amazing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XltceTwLc3g

x. The Wounded - Sunset
Recommended me just these days by a friend. Doom Metal with pretty awesome clean vocals, sounds very unique to me, a bit melo at times. Highly recommended if you want something different.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVNZl6VNA2Y

x. ColdWorld - Autumn
Just made me wait 8 years for a new album, huh? One of the band one-man bands out there, another excellent Ambient/Black album from the excentric Georg Börner.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XYJxC4WO6Y

x. Amon Amarth - Jomsviking
Not really disappointed, but i expected better out of this band who are one of my favourites ever. It sure didn't follow suit to the amazing Deceiver of the Gods, imho. Played way too safe this time, riffs were not as catchy as it is in their best days, the melodies are a tad repetitive. I liked the album, i just expect better out of them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6-krHfdmGg

x. Hammers of Misfortune - Dead Revolution
Deep Purple meets Heavy Metal that meets some Prog and a touch of Sludge. Nobody knows this band and that is wrong. Crazy music, but quality one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKYQvQ8bKcc

x. Neurosis - Fires Within Fire
Another Neurosis greatness? Yes, of course.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wpcaj0ewIVU

x. The Vision Bleak - The Unknown
Insane band that is playing music on a genre of itself. The Horror/Death/Gothic/Black/Dark band released a great full-length. Another weird and awesome album added to their already long discography.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-dgtQIerTc

x. Anciients - Voice of the Void
What can i say? It's basically the Opeth's new album that i expected, some technical death with ok/good clean vocals mixed with harsh. Of course they are not as great as Opeth, but this one will do it for me this year
Ps: You lied to me, Mr. Mikael Åkerfeldt.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=On2ZX_CxGGA

x. Suffer Yourself - Ectoplasm
Funeral Doom as it's best here, a late December release but don't overlook it, one of the best of the year if you are into this beautiful dragging kind of music.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zIJELBS4wQ

Other new albums highly recommended.

Suidakra - Realms of Odoric
The Melodic Death/Folk band none pays attention to. I got your back though, guys.

Lethal Steel - Legion of the Night
New Swedish NWOTHM band, pretty great one.

Brujeria - Pocho Aztlan
My favourite Brujos are back and doing great Death Metal.

Eye of Solitude - Cenotaph
Funeral Doom is alive and well.

Testament - Brotherhood of the Snake
I liked it a lot, just not as good ands inspired as the last few albums.

Tygers of Pan Tang- Tygers of Pan Tang
Old friends still great.

Hanging Garden - Hereafter [EP]
Can't wait for their new full-lenght album, this EP is a Doom/Death clinic.

Witherscape - The Northern Sanctuary
In Mourning - Afterglow
Be'Lakor - Vessels
Omnium Gatherum - Grey Heavens
October Tide - Winged Waltz
Ewigheim - Schlaflieder
Serpentine Dominion - Serpentine Dominion
Destroyer 666 - Wildfire
Gehennah - Too Loud to Live, Too Young to Die

Top 8 releases of 2016:

8. Skálmöld - Vögguvísur Yggdrasils (Viking)
687_Skalmold_RGB.jpg

This band is weird in a way, they don't really evolve much, but they started out with such a quality album and they just continue to release more that are similar and just as good. The digipak comes with a second disc that is essential.

7. Various Artists - In Mordor Where The Shadows Are - Homage to Summoning
0008440921_10.jpg

The lineup of artists on this tribute album is pretty much a who's who of atmospheric black metal and dungeon synth bands. Mesarthim, Midnight Odyssey, Eldamar, Elderwind, Evilfeast, Galdur... the whole thing is pretty packed. Eldamar's Land of the Dead cover has some of the finest shoegaze metal sound of all time. It's Summoning covers by the most notable artists in genres pretty much established by Summoning. It's pretty impressive how quality this is considering who they're attempting to cover. Mine still hasn't arrived, but it will be worth the wait, the packaging looks super good.

6. Moonsorrow - Jumalten Aika (Folk/Pagan BM)
MOONSORROW-Jumalten-Aika1.jpg

It's better than their last album, which was still pretty phenomenal, but Moonsorrow sets the bar pretty high. They already hit such a high standard years ago, it's enough to continue putting out quality albums.

5. Mithras - On Strange Loops (DM)
594007.jpg

Sarpanitum released one of the great death metal albums of last year, and Leon Macey continues his trademark dominating drumming style with Mithras. Paranormally heavy, dripping with psychedelic guitar noodling.

4. Ancestors Blood - Hyperborea (Atmospheric/Pagan BM)
NP063.jpg

Kind of like if Moonsorrow and Enslaved got together and made an album. It can be by the numbers at times, but there are enough surprises and flat out killer parts.

3. Mesarthim - Type III (Atmospheric BM)
[random image of a nebula]
They were a machine in 2016, releasing almost too much material. This was their last release of the year and their best. The main riff in this song caught me off guard. I just found out they're Australian, which along with Midnight Odyssey probably makes that country the center of the Atmospheric BM world.

2. Eiswerk - Kameraden des Todes (Avant Garde/Folk Metal)
62-thickbox_default.jpg

The closest influence I can pick out is Solefald at their most riff-monstering and irreverent with an emphasis on what sounds like traditional German folk melodies, with some really skillful use of samples. Lots of addictive, fun parts. I think this is a concept album as there's theme songs for each of the comrades of death that are in the style of each of them. 'Green Green Goblin' is my track of the year, it's fucking awesome (the scratching after the first chorus...).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6EK85difA8&feature=youtu.be&t=15m24s

1. Twilight Force - Heroes of Mighty Magic
twilightforce-heroesofmightymagic.jpg

This is a statement album, easily my favorite this year and possibly one of if not the best power metal album ever made. It's rare that a metal band has a chance to do something this visionary and is given this kind of studio time and effort. I could hear the potential in their first album, but this is way past any expectation anyone could have. Almost every song is a level above anyone else in the genre. It's true, Twilight Force never met a fantasy trope they didn't like, but they're so good it's more of a feature than a bug. I can't think of a power metal album hitting me this hard... the last time was maybe Falconer 'Northwind'. Even then, that album is like a boombox recording of an improv garage jam band compared to HoMM. I appreciate that the band gave the material the right production, which does not give a shit about loudness. Parts get louder naturally, following the dynamics of the playing and arrangement.

'Flight of the Sapphire Dragon' is paranormally brilliant, the melodies are something else.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-OzvIL4d2w

Too lazy to bring over the images, but my top-ten can be found here. Includes stuff that ain't metal though. https://conkersblog.wordpress.com/2016/12/26/my-top-ten-albums-of-2016/

For those who don't want to click, the albums are:

Korn -- The Serenity of Suffering
Amaranthe -- Maximalism
All Hail the Yeti -- Screams from a Black Wilderness

Thomas Rakowitz -- The Musings of Balance
Sixx A.M. -- The Musings of Balance
Delain -- Moonbathers
Gojira -- Magma
Moonsorrow -- Jumalten Aika
Avantasia -- Ghostlights

Sully Erna -- Hometown Life

Albums in bold are some type of metal or another. I still figure nu metal is metal even if it's the unfavored, bastard child for metal heads :p

25. Oak Pantheon - In Pieces
26. Periphery - Periphery III: Select Difficulty

My favorites from 2016 in no particular order:

Temisto - S/T
Psychedelic death metal in the vein of the last Morbus Chron - Sweven album. Dark, twisted, dreamy Swedish death metal.

Cadaveric Fumes - Dimensions Obscure

Another psychedelic death metal band in the vein as Temisto, Speglas, Morbus Chron. recently recommended in this thread.

Blood Incantation - Starspawn

Bludgeoning heavy as fuck death metal. Nightmarish and atmospheric. No happy shit here.

Mithras - On Strange Loops
Some crazy cosmic space induced technical death metal. Reminds me of Morbid Angel, Aurora Borealis, etc.

Gruesome - Dimensions of Horror
Savage old school Florida death metal inspired by Death - Leprosy era. Brutal, simple, catchy, DEATH METAL.

Eternal Champion - The Armore of Ire
Glorious 80's heavy metal, but modern! Something like Cirith Ungol/Manowar, but a million times better.

Sumerlands - S/T
My absolute favorite album of 2016. Another glorious 80's heavy metal band sharing members of Eternal Champion! Think Randy Rhoads/Jake E. Lee era Ozzy, Dio, Judas Priest, Mercyful Fate, etc. Riffs, riffs, riffs, riffs, hooks, melodies, solos, soaring vocals, clean 80's production. The most fucking metal album of 2016.

Honorable mention:
Darkthrone - Arctic Thunder
A surprise album that came out of nowhere. It's decent, but not as enjoyable as the last Darkthrone or Nocturno Culto Gift of the Gods album. I am loving the direction of titanic molten heavy metal they have been going with though. It does however feature one of the most Tony Iommi Black Sabbath riffs since Tony Iommi.

PALLBEARER To Release 'Heartless' Album In March

'"Heartless" track listing:

01. I Saw The End
02. Thorns
03. Lie Of Survival
04. Dancing In Madness
05. Cruel Road
06. Heartless
07. A Plea For Understanding

PALLBEARER commented on "Heartless": "This album finds us exploring new territories; instead of staring into to the void — both above and within — 'Heartless' concentrates its power on a grim reality. Our lives, our homes and our world are all plumbing the depths of utter darkness, as we seek to find any shred of hope we can."

Even forgot that this album is from 2016, pretty good one indeed.

My top metal albums:

24. Show Me a Dinosaur - Show Me a Dinosaur

Great mention of Show Me a Dinosaur, one of the best Post-Rock bands, imo.

This makes me realize I haven't listened to that many 2016 albums

Here's what I really liked:

Blood Incantation - Starspawn (Death Metal)
Cadaveric Fumes - Dimensions Obscure (Death Metal)
Chthe'ilist - Le dernier crépuscule (Death Metal)

Metal-ish albums I liked in 2016:

The Body - No One Deserves Happiness
Gorguts - Pleiades' Dust
Inter Arma - Paradise Gallows
Psalm Zero - Stranger to Violence

Abnormality - Mechanisms of Omniscience
Obscura - Akroasis
Geryon - The Wound and the Bow
Dysrhythmia - Test of Submission
Krallice - Prelapsarian

Wow, you are definitely someone I need to get aquianted with. You've gotten me into at least 5 bands and I haven't even checked out everything on your list and it seems like your tastes and interests match mine pretty closely, so its nice to see what someone else more knowledgeable in the genre then I is listening to, especially when we've got similar tastes.
I've kind of been falling out of love with metal lately due to being unable to find anything new that excites or interests me and abusively listening to the stuff I already like near constantly (Which isn't too huge of a pool to pull from) so seriously, thank you for this!

In no particular order, my favourite metal (and rock) albums of 2016:

Theories of Flight by Fates Warning
Kodama by Alcest
Guardians by Saor
Stranger Heads Prevail by Thank you Scientist
Dissociation by Dillinger Escape Plan
Mariner by Cult of Luna and Julie Christmas
Vessels by Be'lakor
URSA by Novembre
Not the Actual Events by Nine Inch Nails
Alea by Disillusion (I know it's a single, but fuck it, I absolutely love Back to Times of Splendour and this didn't disappoint after the long hiatus. Gloria is trash and you know it!)

Which bands from the list did you like?

Stuff I liked in 2016 in no particular order. Note that my tastes are all over the place, so probably not as "hardcore" as the others listed here.

Nails - You Will Never Be One of Us
Zeal & Ardor - Devil Is Fine (forgot who recommended this, but thank you!)
Michael Sweet - One Sided War
DGM - The Passage
Crobot - Fat City
Holy Grail - Holy Grail
Haken - Affinity
Inner Wish - Inner Wish
Alcest - Kodama
Frost* - Falling Satellites
Hammers of Misfortune - Dead Revolution
Fallujah - Dreamless
Opeth - Sorceress
Hellyeah - Undeniable
Striker - Stand in the Fire
Jorn - Heavy Rock Radio

Biggest disappointment, or rather continued dissatisfaction, is from Devin Townsend. His newer albums just feel so vapid to me, like he's mailing it in. He needs to go back to the Skullet phase.

Man, I've been listening to this Yellow Eyes Sick with Bloom album nonstop. Now I have to go back and listen to their earlier releases I never really got into from years ago.

I truly adore everything ever released by this band, but everything starting with Hammer of Night has been total class and I recommend that point of their discography to anyone who likes black metal. I love Will's guitar playing and can honestly say it's pretty signature. Their third LP is in the works and I'm sure it will be killer. Gilead will also be reissuing The Desert Mourns and Stillicide on a single LP this year.

I posted these pics a while back but hey, I like showing my shit off.

I also have tests for Hammer of Night, The Desert Mourns, and Stillicide.

I recently started listening to Will's old project Diminishing Light. It's interesting knowing what his music usually sounds like and hearing such a DSBM sound.

Best things I heard in 2016:

1. Wormrot - Voices
2. Mental Cruelty - Pereat Mundus
3. Alcest - Kodama

Aborted - Termination Redux EP
Death Fortress - Deathless March Of The Unyielding
Devouring Humanity - Devouring Humanity
Darkthrone - Arctic Thunder
Dance With The Dead - The Shape
Deathspell Omega - The Synarchy of Molten Bones
Gorevent - Dull Punishment
GosT - Non Paradisi
Perturbator - The Uncanny Valley

Love this art, I'll have to check it out

EDIT: I dig it, even if I'm not the biggest fan of wall of sound black metal

EDIT2: Shit this actually goes places, very good

lol! Glad you're enjoying it. Yeah, their compositions are fucking good. Often times when a band tries to differentiate themselves in the realm of black metal I feel like it's forced, but with Yellow Eyes it's effortless. It's mainly achieved through writing and riff style and that's the thing that I really like about them. There are no bells and whistles to their sound, it's just well-written and executed at a high level. Again, check out everything after and including Hammer of Night.

Will definitely do. I just listened to the Desert Mourns EP but I dig that they don't actually let the "wall of sound" stuff overstay its welcome before shifting around. I always dig how that style sounds but it generally ends up being really one note and I tune out

Whew, that's pretty awesome.

Glad to hear they're working on a third album. They've been on a steady trajectory of improvement so I want to see where they go next.

The guitar playing and compositions are excellent, but the drummer (and the way the drums sound, nice and live) deserves notice. I just love the simple, repetitive, pummeling, but occasionally embellished style of playing on Sick with Bloom. Complements the guitars perfectly.

for sure, many twists and change ups make a lot of their songs that much more memorable to me.

he's definitely solid as fuck and was a great addition to the band for the new LP. You probably know him from at least one of his other projects, maybe Fell Voices? His solo project Vilkacis is some cool traditional stuff.

I had brought up House of First light before, the growling little circle in New York. I guess I forgot to mention that Yellow Eyes is essentially tied to it as well although that's mostly due to Will playing in a few of those bands. One of those is Sanguine Eagle. As of today House of First Light has put their demo on Bandcamp which should the first of many releases being made available digitally. Really good raw and dirge-y stuff and should be checked out again by any fan of traditional black metal.

I remember when I first discovered this band by accident. Holy shit, this song was like a punch in the dick.

So gooooooooooooooooooooooooood

the drummer is absolutely insane...gives Raymond Herrera a run for his money. >,<

Had the same reaction when I first listened to Morbid Saint's Damien, those drums and Pat Lind's vocals, holy shit.

Vinny was amazing, such a shame he died so soon RIP.

Black Cilice (PRT) - Banished from Time

new Black Cilice album announced entitled "Banished from Time" to be released by Iron Bonehead this year. This sample is probably the best the band has ever sounded and I'm pretty stoked for it.

Rhinocervs (CA) - Odour of Dust & Rot

SoCal USBM label Rhinocervs has reissued their excellent compilation from several years ago on CD format. It features some great tracks by associated bands Odz Manouk, Tukaaria, and the label itself. Pick it up from Final Agony.

A bit late but I guess these would be my top albums for the year:

6. Theocracy - Ghost Ship
A downgrade from As the World Bleeds. They lost a lot of speed and gained a lot of weight.

5. Sonata Arctica - The Ninth Hour
They seem to be improving as some of these songs actually sound good. The Elephant is my favorite although that seems to be a japanese bonus track, bah.

4. Eternity's End - The Fire Within
The heavier sound isn't surprising given that guitarist Christian Münzner has apparently been involved in a few death metal projects. I'd check this out if some of the other records on my list aren't to your fancy.

3. Cry Venom - Vanquish the Demon
This one grew as a guilty pleasure, as quite honestly you won't like this one if you're not willing to accept the substantial amount of electronicore and pop influences.

2. Rhapsody (of Fire) - Into the Legend
What appears to unfortunately be Fabio's last Rhapsody album is an incredibly solid work based on the foundation of what makes Rhapsody good. While any sort of plot or progression of such is gone (or substantially harder to decipher), there is still left masterfully built songwriting that work with guitars in ways that make you think that, for a moment, Luca never left. Winter's Rain and Valley of Shadows are standout tracks on the album, although I personally lack the ability to adequately describe what they do for the band. It is deserving of more success than the lack of that lead to the remains fracturing apart.

1. Twilight Force - Heroes of Mighty Magic
I think this is one of the best cases of weird fan labels that mean well. The "Disney Metal" term is never meant as a derisive, but rather simply descriptive of its unusually light sound that is very reminiscent of a Disneyworld orchestral peformance. The amount of work and love that went into this album is incredibly apparent, as the orchestras are incredibly high quality, working to build the most bombastic choruses known to man. I must give a special mention to the audio work that went into the narration track at the end, although whatever plot they're trying to go for is still a bit of a mess.

Sanguine Eagle is devotional music, exalting an unfolding magickal current that its members refer to as storm mysticism. The practitioner becomes a personification of the storm itself as he experiences the long and painful process of becoming severed from the dream or banal realities. Embodying its rapturous ability to devastate as well as bring remarkable resurgences of life, the storm is a perfect exemplification of the mercurial power that can be harnessed from knowledge of nature’s mysteries, wielded of course by one who knows, wills, dares and keeps silent. Knowledge of this frightening totality is so volatile it presents as much risk and danger as it does progress. While led through these vestigial mysteries, existence will persist as a subservient entity and all of perception becomes his temple. As the spirit goes through this harrowing castigation, one finally gazes upon the fruits of strength contained at the zenith-heart of the storm.

Now if they did this like Twilight Force does it, with the right amount of self aware humor, I could meet them half way. As it is, though... that's way off the rails

I think TF are in a little too deep to qualify as self-aware. Gloryhammer fits the description better.

What you posted reads like the drunk ramblings of Luca Turilli if he was writing a guest song for Dragonforce.

Looking forward to the new Black Cilice, liking the new direction they're taking, specially the vocals.

I've been lazy as hell on my top ten but I listened to a lot of stuff last year so instead of a top list I just listed all the albums that stood out. These I either bought or played the shit out of.

My album of the year choice is easy, it's a perfect album for me: UADA - Devoid of Light

The rest are all excellent:
Abbath - Abbath
Ancient - Back to the Land of the Dead
Dawn of Demise - The Suffering
Defeated Sanity - Disposal of the Dead
Denouncement Pyre - Black Sun Unbound
Desaster - The Oath of an Iron Ritual
Destroyer 666 - Wildfire
Frostbite - Etching Obscurity
Fuath - I
Gygax - Critical Hits
Hammer Fight - Profound and Profane
Hellbringer - Awakened From the Abyss
Howls of Ebb - Cursus Impasse: The Pendlomic Vows
Isolert - No Hope, No Light...Only Death
Johansson & Speckmann - Edge Of The Abyss
Mortichnia - Heir to Scoria and Ash
Necromancing the Stone - Jewel of the Vile
Novembre - URSA
Ripper - Experiment of Existence
Savage Master - With Whips and Chains
Spektr - The Art to Disappear
Suidakra - Realms of Odoric
Suppressive Fire - Bedlam

There's a lot more that was good but holy shit there's only so much time in the day...

New Black Cilice! I also need to check out the demo you posted a few above that.
