I wish the industry would stop announcing and showing footage of games early in the dev stage. It makes me think that they are well underway and in a year or two will be finished. I honestly thought we would at least get KHIII this year.

I think there could be purchasable DLC cutscenes released taking place between the end of 0.2 and the start of KH3, so 2.9 vol 2, 3 etc. Maybe with one showing Kairi arriving for and starting training with Lea as Yen Sid is sending her to do at the end of 0.2. I don't think vol 1 of 2.9 would be just a cutscene and the rest a demo/game release. We saw Olympus gameplay in a KH3 proper trailer, and I'm now certain that will be the first world in KH3 after seeing the end of 0.2. You have a good point about the attraction flow being on the 2.9 LinkedIn page making a lot more sense if 2.9 is an actual upcoming release but I think that project was scrapped in favour of what ended up being 2.8. At least I hope so.
Yes as unfortunate as it would be to make cutscenes purchasable... We know there will be DLC based off the website and I can't see them releasing more playable content as DLC.

Umm...if FF7 starts taking fucking forever, just make it one game again please. The only benefit of that game in "trilogy" form is that I thought we'd get the first installment in late 2017, especially since they showed us gameplay that looked much further along than KH.
The 1.5+2.5 collection coming this March. Or just start with III. If it ever comes out.
This one is more if you're already invested, I don't think it's a good starting point.

I don't see them releasing cutscenes as DLC, but perhaps they're already in the game somehow as increasingly difficult unlockables or something. What's more likely though is that they named the video that to hint at a demo like Episode Duscae. I don't see them leaving Olympus Coliseum out of the main game so it's probably not a separate story but rather a part from the main game to give us a taste of how Sora will play while they finish up the game.
I also still don't think they'll start KH3 with Olympus Coliseum, and if they would, they certainly wouldn't reveal it like that. KH games have always started with an original area and it just wouldn't feel right if KH3 started in a Disney world. I think it'd mess up the story structure... but whatever. We just don't know yet, I guess.

But if it's playable, I'm hyped for it! KH0.2 really looekd amazing in the stream I watched. Superb atmosphere and fun puzzles too. Even a little bit of platforming. It's fantastic seeing the new models, they've vastly improved since the last time we saw them and their animations are as good as ever. To me, many of the later cutscenes really looked perfect, so much that I think they have achieved the beauty of Luminous KH3.

2.9 was denied multiple times by nomoura and shinji. and yes shinji didn't say his magical words "depends on the fan demand" lol.

the cutscene however it goes directly before a 0.1 from KH3. as it's a part that will be continued in KH3.

My bad I meant Mount Olympus will be the first world with Sora. Technically the tradition of starting with an original area/world will continue through KH3 starting with the flashback sequence with Young Xehanort and Eraqus just not necessarily playable this time (the only reason I say it might not be playable is because at E3 Nomura implied we will be getting into the action playing as Sora fast in KH3).
But I agree the later cutscenes do look great and Sora's model looks surprisingly close to some of the Luminous stuff shown. The "I'm back" scene from the final trailer is the only part where his model looks rough lol.
It wasn't Luminous. it was done in DirectX. i think he said it in e3 2013
Yes not in Luminous but when they were aiming to use that and it was what the target render was based on.

High the secret ending is called 2.9 volume 1, so there has to be something else to follow this up.
Unless Nomura plans to add more secret scene's into 1.5 and 2.5 for PS4.

I got the feeling "the first vol." was more in reference to its connection to the first world of KH3, given the content of the cutscene. /shrug

But it's 2.9: The first vol., not 3: the first vol.
Hmm, that could work if they add an additional video option to the menu screen where you can select the different games. I hope you're right.
