Jeez this title is fucking long. Stupid JP trends. It translates to "I might be able to defeat the Demon King if it's for my daughter." An adventurer encounters an orphaned demon girl and takes her in. First few chapters is basically him trying to raise her like teaching her how to speak, getting her accustomed to humans, etc. It's kinda adorable.

Nah it's like a fundamental part of Japanese literary tradition.
Genji visits Kitayama, the northern rural hilly area of Kyoto, where he finds a beautiful ten-year-old girl. He is fascinated by this little girl (Murasaki), and discovers that she is a niece of the Lady Fujitsubo. Finally he kidnaps her, brings her to his own palace and educates her to be his ideal lady — that is, like the Lady Fujitsubo.

Father and daughter manga aren't new. The problem is that it almost always evolves into the creepy shit. Then again, it's part of the Japanese tradition, see the Tale of Genji like Haly points out.

Anyway, I think I found the original web version of the novel.

Dale's response is to go white with shock and then when he finally recovers goes "Wow! My daughter is finally hitting her rebellious phase! I can't believe it!" Next chapter has Latina crying to Rita about Dale not understanding her confession.

So yeah...I might still read the manga for the art. At last Dale isn't the creepy one...so far.

One of the supposed masterpieces of Tezuka! Let's see how it is.

In a way, it's very ambitious as it tries to tell Humankind's story, from the ancient times to the future. It's like a Civilization game! It does by telling 12 stories, in different ages, and from what I read, the stories are interconnected both by the titular Phoenix and by reincarnated characters.

This first volume is the first story, Dawn, which chronologically it's also the first one. The second volume for example is the last story chronologically (3000 A.D.) so it jumps quite a bit. It's the story of the dawn of the country of Yamato empire, founded by invaders, and the fall of the previous kingdom ruled by a Sorceress-Queen, respected as god on Earth. And it does it with a lot of action, Tezuka usually does pretty fast paced manga, and it's the same here. In a few dozens pages you have treason, deaths, invasions by armies, promises of vengeance, slavery, all intertwined with story of people who wants to kill the mythical Phoenix who lives in a volcano to obtain immortality.

The art is typical Tezuka, but even if looks simple at first, he was a master of his craft and it has some very cool parts playing with shadows and lightning, and the flow between panels is excellent.

It's doing well in the rankings, getting cover and color pages and the first volume sold decent-well in its first week (it was a holiday week so sales were odd all around). Jump ain't canceling anything old (yes I would call PN old at this point with how quickly Jump is going through new series at the moment) until at least two more of the newcomers stick around and show some life...so far we are 0/5 with all series that debuted after PM (including the two in its batch) being dead on arrival. We will see if it's 0/6 or 1/6 this week...

For those of you that dont know the serie is about a middle aged woman that tries to keep her daughter safe from her heroine job without she knowing and well it has its lewd moments from chapter 1

Let's hope the quality stays this high. The story keeps being suspenseful, but at some point the plot has to diverge from this arc. And I worry that the quality plummets right there and then.

Seshiji o Pin! Last ten chapters or so. Shout out to Oni for reminding me about it. I'm annoyed at myself because its already falling into the forget for long time pile Magi and Dead Demons Destruction sits. Anyways 10/10, how is this not the one with the anime? Seriously, how? I refuse to believe a ballroom dancing manga could ever be as good as this. Sakamoto shouldn't nearly be as badass as he is, yet the man is a beast.
