How much are you spending on a Switch day one?

With the price in the UK among other things, there's pretty much zero chance I'll be buying a switch day 1.

Probably won't be picking one up for a year+

I preordered the console at Amazon but with Best Buy's $25 off $100 deal and my new Gamers Club membership I pretty much preordered everything I want that has been announced (minus Bomberman R and Skyrim) at Best Buy. I didn't put individual prices because it would be hard to figure with GCU discounts and $25 off the total discount.

Nintendo Switch Console
Extra Set of Joycons

Zelda
Mario Kart 8
Super Mario Odyssey
Splatoon 2
1-2 Switch
Arms
Binding of Isaac
Puyo Puyo Tetris

The MSRP of all that is $810, with tax in my state it would total $861
I am paying $625.68, with tax I'm paying $665.64

I feel guilty for spending so much but I rationalize it by the fact that I just completed my masters and the pay bump I received is equal to this amount every month.

$0.

Was turned off by high hardware pricing, exorbitant accessories pricing, pay-to-play online. Was underwhelmed with games shown, as well (not a Zelda fan, so...).

Still a chance I buy one down the line, but I told myself that about the WiiU and wound up never bothering to buy. Nintendo probably isn't going to be able to win me back as a console customer.

Console - $300
Zelda - $60

I'll probably end up getting a case, too. Is screen protector necessary? I didn't put one on my Wii U or 3DS screens and never had any issues.

Mine has decreased somewhat:

Grey Switch with Zelda: £319.99
Skylanders Imaginators: £45 (£10 off voucher from Amazon UK WOO)
Bomberman R: £43 (hopefully Amazon list it for £45 and give me my £2 off)
Binding of Isaac: £37 (import)

£443.99

edit - got a bundle from GAME (day one not confirmed just yet....) and ordered BoI, may add Setsuna and hopefully Fast Racing RMX too

1 Grey Switch (BB in store pickup)
1 Pro Controller (BB same day shipping)
1 set of Neon Blue Joy-Cons (BB same day shipping)
1 Charge Grip (BB same day shipping)
1 Zelda BotW digital download

The total is around $570

I don't know how Nintendo is doing account transfers from Wii U to Switch, or New 3DS to Switch., but after I transfer my account over I will potentially sell/trade those along with all physical games to get even more money to spend on my new Nintendo obsession.

I am stoked to go all in at this point.

I know that I'm hating on Switch more than anybody else here but I want to give Nintendo a chance to wow me, the last Nintendo console I had was the Wii and I didn't really like it but that hybrid stuff looks pretty good so I'll take it and I hope I won't regret it, for day one, I'll have:

- Console Switch Neon edition- 319€
- Zelda - 65€
- 1/2 Switch - 50€
- Snipperclips 20€
- Joy-Con Strap Red and Blue - 12€ ( 6€ each )
- Nintendo Switch Pro controller - 70€
- Chargeable Grip - 30€
- Samsung EVO Plus SDCard 256GB - 148€

Total: 714€.

Don't make me regret this Big N.

After trading in my wiiU, 3DS, and 3 games it payed off my pre-order, my Zelda pre-order, and my carrying case pre-order.

Switch :$321.54
Zelda BotW SE: $87.19
Pro Controller: $64.71
Screen Protector: $8.22
200GB Micro SD card: TBD

So far I am at $481.66. Once it is all said and done I will be over 500.00. I may drop the SE of Zelda and pre-order the standard edition which would help bring me back under.

$400 (Canadian) for the system, which is actually going to be $50 bucks, due to the EB Games gift cards I have accumulated. Breath of the Wild is going to be free with the promotional deal they had for "Trading in Two Games to get a Nintendo Switch Game for free".

So, yeah. It feels good to be cost-incentive. :)

So in conjunction with Best Buy GCU, the Best Buy $25 off $100 promo and the $10 credit Best Buy gave out for free a couple weeks ago, I got:

Nintendo Switch Console
Extra pair of grey joycons
Charging grip for joycons
Breath of the Wild
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

For $454.68 before taxes. Not bad! I'll probably pick up a 200GB SDXC card before the Switch comes out as well.

I think a pair of straps come with the console... So you don't need extra unless you get more joy cons.

If I can walk into a store after work and buy one,
$300 Console + $100 Zelda + $?? SD card (don't know the current rate)
So $400 + $??.

If I can't buy one at my own leisure, a big fat $0.

Knowing Nintendo, it will be $0.

90€/100€

Zelda Breath of the Wild EU Limited Edition

Will get the Switch later, and play the game on Wii U first.

Bad commercial decisions (mostly) from Nintendo made me cancel my Switch and Pro Controller pre-order, I want the console but I don't want to support those decisions by getting it day one.

So far just
Neon console £285 (bloody amazon 5 quid delivery charge)
Breath of the wild limited edition £90 (bloody nintendo store charging full rrp but at least will get a free tshirt)

Will probably also buy an extra game for multiplayer (not sure which) and another pair of neon joycons

Will hold off on a microSD card til i fill my fridge as the prices will always drop

US Prices:
(2) Consoles - $600
Zelda - $60
1-2 Switch - $40
Joy-Cons - $80
Charge Grip - $30

Total: $810, but will likely sell one console to a friend at cost if there isn't a good game sharing platform in place.

I probably don't need the extra set of joy cons until Mario Kart comes out, but I want to avoid a component shortage like finding a Wii Remote during launch.

Potentially $435 for the console itself and BOTW Master Edition after taxes, plus the cost of whatever size SD card I decide upon (128 gb?).

If people pay ridiculous prices for Master Edition on craigslist or something, I might sell it and get the regular zelda edition so it will cover the cost of the game + allot of the Switch ;p. But if it is only a $50-75 price premium over retail price (goes for $180-200ish), I'd rather keep it for myself.

About $320 for the console itself.

I traded in some games and my old 3DS XL (I have a New 3DS) to cover the cost of an extra pair of JoyCon, a charging grip, and $15 to go toward whatever. Hoping for at least two games at or before launch for review coverage purposes, and will also invest in a carrying case and screen protector.

The Hori screen protector is $20, and the carrying case I like is about $15, so I guess I'm looking at about $360 when it's all said and done.

Since I'm a slave to Nintendo:
System-$300
Zelda Special edition(if i find it)- $100
Bomberman-$50
Maybe - Pro Controller - $70

Total with taxes - $551.20

God help me...

I guess it depends on what you consider "spending". My Switch is currently paid off via trade credit at Gamestop, so my only "spend" there was the initial cost of the games/systems I traded in.

Otherwise, I really wanted to go all in for the Switch launch. I considered getting Zelda, Bomberman, 1 2 Switch, and some controllers! But... I've now come to my senses and realized that I just wanted to order all of that stuff out of excitement. Instead, I'll just be grabbing the Master Edition of Zelda and the new Zelda Amiibo for about $113 total. I'll take the money I would have spent on filler content for Switch and spend it on games for my PS4/Xbox One that I know will be quality.

I think I'm opting out or Zelda on Switch and will just get it on Wii U. The extra visual bump would be nice, but ultimately isn't necessary. I can wait a year for Mario anyway

I'm definitely not sold on 1-2 Switch yet, but I would like something available that supports all the features of the system so I will probably end up with it.

I'm also hoping I can do without the SD card. I received a 256GB microSD card from Samsung when I bought a Note 7 and can't find it. Assuming it turns up I'll be good on storage.

This is my thing, I'm waiting for reviews and if there are a few decent games that'll have longevity and are a good showcase of the systems features I'll jump in. But otherwise it doesn't interest me at all.

People weren't all that hot on Nintendo Land but Mario Chase was probably the best thing ever released on the Wii U.

Also why are people paying $60 for games these days? Get Prime or GCU!

Mass Effect is also coming at the end of the month so it's likely I'll only actually get to play Zelda before it drops.

I'm hoping to have Zelda done by then. Horizon will have to wait until I'm done with Zelda and Andromeda, hopefully I'll see a sale by then.

Launch month I've set aside £600 for the console, Zelda SE, Pro pad, Bomberman and any other games I want.

Mass Effect is also coming at the end of the month so it's likely I'll only actually get to play Zelda before it drops.

Console + sales tax + 2 yr accidental damage coverage = $370
BotW (Amazon Prime) = $48

I'm going to pretty much be using this as a Vita replacement so I don't need a ton of accessories. Also, I'm clumsy af so I went with the accidental damage thing.

Switch + Zelda (limited edition from Nintendo store) + carry case.
Will see if I have any money left for another game or controller (or both...)

Edit: And the Zelda Amiibos

Switch, Zelda, and maybe an SDXC card or a Pro Controller.

This is in Scandinavia, so approximately 599 US dollars.

I have a ton of friends coming into town on the 3rd, it's excruciating (lol). I'm going to take off work then binge play all morning til they show up and then maybe take Monday off to make up for missed time. This is me talking after having already worked 70 hours of OT this year and working through New Years Holiday. In a month I may be cooled down and more patient. :)

Edit: Not many people buying an extra AC Adapter. I haven't looked into it much but I kind of figured out of convenience I'd want one always plugged into the dock so I can keep the wires near my TV tidy and a second one for moving around the house/traveling.

Edit Edit: Decided to look into it, LMAO Polygon.

For Zelda and the switch it came to $540 CDN after tax.

I'll probably download 1,2,Switch for another ~$65 after tax. Really changing my tune on that title.

No reason to spend more at this time. I wouldn't mind a pro controller, but for 70$ I wanna give the joy con grip a test run as I think it will be fine for me.

Already have a 256gb MicroSD from Note7 purchase.

Console : 329.99 €
Zelda : 69.99 €

Minus : 300.49 € (from selling my entire Wii U games and some 3DS games)

Total : 99.49 €
Minus : 15 € because Switch and Zelda price just got down and the reseller is refunding it.

Soooo, I just bought a 64 GB SDXC card and might take The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+.
